Don't Waste Your Money

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This review will echo previous reviews from February and April of 2023. The view and location do not make up for the horrible condition of this unit. There is a large liquid stain on the area rug in the living room, very smelly black mold in the washer seal, as well as a broken handle on the dryer that keeps it from latching. This means you must stand there and hold the dryer door to keep it running or sort out some other way to keep it shut. The black mold was also inside and outside the shower, along with a loose shower tile (Chasin Rainbows did fix that and the lanai screen). We had to wear our water sandals in the shower to avoid any type of infection. Speaking of the shower, if you can get the diverter to function, do not push it back up or you will be "showering" by using a pitcher, as there is no tub. There is a high and awkward step up into the shower, so be careful stepping out. Also, don't use the electric kettle in the kitchen. It's rusty inside. I could go on but you get the idea. I emailed Chasin Rainbows regarding the condition of this unit and requesting to be moved. What I received was a text from maintenance two days later.Extremely disappointed and frustrated.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Thank you for moving us. For a year we looked forward to the views of the ocean and there were none. The big water spot on the LR rug gave the sense that no one cared to keep the place up and I questioned mold. It needs some updates and a warning that exiting the shower is "iffy".

Not a stay in paradise at all ...

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Not good at all. In front of the balcony was a construction scaffolding which made it completely unpleasant to even sit on the balcony and eat. A nice view of the Ozean or sunset Was not possible, therefore we looked at buckets, plastic, dirt and ropes.Secondly there was a large unpleasant looking water stain on the carpet in the living room.The washing machine had black mold in the Saal and also smelled bad. In the kitchen some drawers fell almost a part or were broken. And finally the drain in the shower started to smell mußte once the water was running. All of this is inacceptable at your own place already, but if you go on vacation this is in particular for such a price is extortionately high.

Great view, however......

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Positive- the unit had a great view of the ocean. Negative - There was a large water stain on the area carpet in the living room. (Wouldn’t take much effort to roll it up and remove). The washing machine had black mold in the seal and smelled bad. The dryer handle was broken making it difficult to open. Bedroom carpet needs to be cleaned due to stains. In the kitchen some drawers were broken. The shower floor was at least 10” higher than the bathroom floor (anyone with mobility issues would not be able to use) plus the grouting was moldy and a tile next to the drain was loose (Chasin Rainbows did say they would have someone come in to fix). The drain in the shower started to smell musty once the water was running. We would not stay at this unit again

Not a good experience

We don’t recommend this unit

Photos Looked Good Online, But What They Don't Tell or Show You....

Older condo building (old hotel?) built 1960's, according to the work crew repairing the exterior of the building during the week we visited. They were repairing many the lanais on the ocean side: up, down & across the face of the building. They didn't block the view or make any noise in our units while we were there, but the work was ongoing for several months.The problem with this is that this was not communicated to us until AFTER we had made reservations...talk about bad communications!! We felt very sorry for the people in the rooms that they were working in front of, blocking the ocean view, and creating jack-hammer noise. The general condition of the condo was, pretty gungy & dated. We've stayed in many privately-owned rental condos over the last 25 years, from Kaanapali down to Wailea, and this is by far the worst. The woven bamboo "rug" in the main living area, (that looks so nice in the property ad photo) was extremely stained & dirty over large areas; it definitely did NOT look like the photo used. The fabric on the chairs & couch we in need of a cleaning, they felt gungy when you sat on them. The bathroom shower was very old & dirty with dark mildew in the grouted tiles that one would expect in a college dorm room. No vent fan at all in bathroom. The drapes in all the rooms had gungy like furniture. A HUGE amount of noise in bedroom from outside corridor! Pros: Great ocean view from lanai, nice pool & lobby area, easy parking. Overall not worth price.

great Condo at a perfect location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: the location of the location is really perfect. Direct look onto the ocean with whales in the morning and sunset in the evening. You can also directly see Molokai and Lanai.Just the infrastructure with restaurants and shops around got effected by COVID and a lot is closed. But Lahaina is near by so effectively it was no problem. I would recommend staying there all the time to friends.

Valley Isle #205 - Good & Not so Good

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is located in a quieter part of Maui, which is what we were looking for. The condo could use some updating in the kitchen and particularly for the bathroom. The kitchen is an older remodel, and the bathroom is extremely old and probably has not been remodeled for many, many years. The bathtub/shower is very awkward and very hard to use with the floor for the bathtub/shower higher than the floor for the rest of the bathroom. Basically, it is an accident waiting to happen. The Lanai and view of the ocean was spectacular!

Great view but needs updates

Pros: view from the Lanai is amazing. Convenient location, easy access too stores and restaurants. Can see turtles from lanai. Washer and dryer were nice but handle broken on washer. Cons: mold growing on the shower door, and tile and grout!! Everything could be updated, very run down and used. Noise was very loud from adjacent condos, trash shoot, and elevators. No lawn furniture at this condo. Others have chairs by the beach. Cooler provided but doesn’t zip to keep things cool. Only 1 Tommy beach chair provided so couples would need to rent 1. For the price, we would not stay here again!!! Once I mentioned the mold in the shower the condo manager never responded.

Functional but not luxurious

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First off, the view from this condo was excellent, worth every penny. The location was excellent too, the 2nd floor is easy to access and gives you a great view of the beach. We were happy to just sit and watch the ocean from the balcony for hours! The building also has restaurants and shops right across the street which was very convenient.The condo itself was clean and was well-stocked. Just about any kitchen tool you need is here, along with some beach supplies. However this place has seen a lot of use over the years and it shows. Everything has wear and tear and it seems there is just enough maintenance to keep the place working, but no improvements have been made in years. It's long overdue for renovation! The screen door is ripped and the bedroom closet doors are off their rails. The bedroom carpet feels mushy. The grout in the shower has mildew and needs a deep clean. Despite these issues we still enjoyed our stay, the view from the balcony makes you forget everything else! If you just need a simple condo on the beach this place will satisfy. But if you're expecting modern amenities and fancy furniture, keep looking!

Amazing views! Even better than the listing!

Unit was strategically located in the big resort building. Resort is also great, with a pool, grill and extremely breezy and cool lobby. You have a great patio view with coconut trees, lush green grass right in front and a direct ocean view. Beach just in front is not very crowded and is almost as good as private. Overall great location and view as you're also close to grocery stores, snorkeling locations and beaches too. Management could do better with the electronics/utensils in the apartment: 1) Hot water kettle had rust at the base of the kettle, we didn't feel comfortable using 2) Pots and pans were sticky when we found them, area below the sink was a little unclean and the drain tray was definitely rusted and unclean 3) TV was labeled as smart but didn't function with regular intervals of inoperable condition. Overall though - you're paying for the outstanding location and views.

Valley Isle 205

Reviewer Comments: This is our third stay at Valley Isle 205 over the past 12 years. Check in time was 3:00 pm. We arrived at 3:45, and the unit was still not cleaned (we accessed using the key in the lock box). It was like walking into the remains of a frat party.We called Chase'N Rainbows, and were told that they would call us back in a couple minutes with an update. They never did call back, but housekeepers finally arrived and got the unit cleaned by 5:30 pm.They did not bring beach towels as they were supposed to. I notified Chase'N Rainbows about that, but never heard back (e.g., we never got Beach Towels).The unit itself needs a remodel. In 2010 when we first visited it was newly refurbished, and has the same furniture and appliances since then (with the exception of a new Murphy Bed in living room, and king sized bed in bedroom). The refrigerator is even rusty. Well-worn chairs in the living room, and very old (rusty) drying rack in the balcony. The clothes dryer barely works.Not trying to be nit-picky, but we expected to find things in a little better condition as far as maintenance.Overall, Valley Isle Resort is very well maintained and is gorgeous. It is very quiet and we love the location. Not sure if we'll do Maui again (this was our fifth visit to the island) nor Valley Isle 205 unless it gets some updates.

Disappointing

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We checked in at the front desk as told. The clerk was so miserable and rude. It was as if I was bothering her by checking in. Vacation started off on a sour note. When we settled in the room and put food away in the refrigerator, I noticed that the door to the refrigerator wouldn't close without forcibly pushing it shut. As a result, nothing stayed cold until noticing it several hours later. After contacting Chasin Rainbows, they said fridge could not be repaired. I was told that someone would get back to me to see what could be done. After checking out 9 days later and no return phone call from Chasin Rainbows, I contacted Chasin Rainbows again and was told nothing could be done. In addition, the drains in kitchen and bath vanity were very slow to drain and the fold-down bed was rickety and uncomfortable.

The view is stunning! The place isn’t shiny, fancy or new, but it’s all we needed. Enjoyed having a Murphy bed right by the ocean! Mattresses weren’t the best but fine.

Amazing and beautiful but please update listing

Amazing views with whales spouting and jumping, and turtles everywhere! There is beautiful coral and fish everywhere in front of the property and great views of Molokai. However, the pictures in the listing do not reflect the current views from the condo. They have placed large sandbags all along the beach area that are approximately 2-3 feet tall. You can not see any sand from the condo. It is fully grass, then sandbags, then the water. I had assumed I would be able to see my son if he was near the water (he’s 13 and 5’1”), but I couldn’t. There really needs to also be a picture of the step up into the shower. I am handicapped and i was able to do it, but it’s important to show things like that when your listing says handicapped accessible. I’m pretty sure my wheelchair would not have fit into the toilet area, but i am fine walking short distances. It did not change the fact that it was still beautiful and we still had a great time. The condo has everything you could ask for and I would definitely stay again.

Great stay right on beach!

The pictures don't lie! The view is awesome. You get to hear the waves all night long when you sleep in the living room, and you could see whales right from your patio. What an awesome condo this is! Perfect Hawaii vacation stay and totally worth it. There is no AC in the condo, but we didn't need it. The cool ocean breeze was so refreshing and more than enough to put anyone to sleep.

Noisy unit

Unit 205 is very close to the elevator and the trash chut which are very noisy. The bedroom is located adjacent to a mainly enclosed hallway so you can hear people coming and going and some doors slamming when windy. We would consider staying at Valley Isle Resort but not in 205. Staying on the 3rd or above floor would be better as trees by the lania at least by 205 block some off the view. Staying in units 008 and higher on each floor would eliminate most of the elevator and trash noise.

beautiful view from the balcony!! a lot of beaches close by, room was clean and spacious, kitchen was well stocked. no AC didn’t even bother us, we actually loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves with the ocean breeze! perfect little spot for our honeymoon!! :)

Great View! But...

The view and location is killer! The unit is tired. From the coffee maker to the closet doors, many things just don't work. The closet doors could get pushed to one side with a lot of effort, and that's where they stayed for two weeks. The coffee pot may be demonically possessed-- I'm no expert in that. The screen on the door to the balcony was more off than on the door. The bottom of the bathroom door has a big ding (or delamination) so that it's partly white and partly wood layer showing. The rug in the living room has some sort of stains. All the furniture is just a bit run down. Wi-fi is weak. The person at the main desk made it clear that beach towels for the VRBO folks are not her thing. We did without rather than try to find the "other front desk" which didn't exist. These are all small things, and if they're unimportant to you, you'll have a great stay. It's like being at the beach the whole time, which is precisely the feel I wanted. The place definitely lives up to the view description, and that really bails out the other negatives-- if you've got the right attitude.
