Wake up to the Sanoran Desert in the middle of 7.4 acres. Pour yourself a coffee and watch the sunrise over the Rincon Mountains and 550,000 acres of wilderness. Work out in the weight-training room before taking off for a day of exploring. Across the road are short, gentle hikes and multi-day backpacking trails up into the mountains. Do you bike? Tucson offers well over 100 miles of paved, mostly level bike paths in and around town and countless more challenging rides and unending single track trails. When you're tuckered out, head back to your casita for a hot shower, pour a drink, and sit on the West side of the house and watch the sunset over the Tucson Mountains. Put a match to the fire in the chiminea and you'll warm up as the desert cools down. A good night's sleep in the cozy casita and you'll be ready for more adventures!
Perfect location for a Saguaro National Park visit
We had a great stay here. We hiked the park early in the day, and it is close enough to head back to for a quick sunset trip or evening hike. Many trailheads are just down the road. The property has many saguaros, a great variety of cactus and succulents, with a large front and backyard that's fun to walk. The inside is simply done and comfortable. My husband is a breakfast guy, and he had a little trouble finding pans to make a hearty breakfast...but he made it work. The place is quiet and the owners, Ali and Dick, are the only other people around. Ali and Dick were great hosts. They checked in to see that we had everything we needed, were friendly, but conscientious about giving guest their space. I'd recommend this casita for couples exploring SNP and the city of Tucson. We had a wonderful stay here.
My husband and I stayed four nights at this property. We are birdwatchers and it was an excellent location for getting to the places we wanted to visit. There is a national park across the street and Mount Lemmon is a very short distance. Sweetwater wetlands is half hour drive. The accommodations had everything we needed: comfortable bed, privacy, and tranquility. The house is set back from the road. We used the electric grill to cook some meals. There are restaurants close by. The hosts were readily available.
Our stay at this east Tucson cottage was absolutely fantastic. The moment we arrived, we were struck by the unique furnishings that added a personal, artistic touch to the space. The home was thoughtfully decorated, blending comfort with charm in a way that made us feel right at home. The true highlight of the stay, and the reason we chose it, was the connection to nature. The cottage overlooks Saguaro National Park, offering a breathtaking view that we couldnât get enough of. We spent several hours each morning sitting by the chiminea outside with our coffee enjoying the peaceful desert ambiance. The birdwatching was a treat. We had the privilege of watching a Gila Woodpecker and his mate, and a chatty native Arizona Cardinal, both of which added a sense of wonder to our stay. The desert wildlife really brought the natural surroundings to life. The house was impeccably clean and well-equipped, making our stay as comfortable as possible. Everything we needed was provided, from kitchen essentials to extra blankets. The hosts were incredibly friendly and attentive, offering helpful tips and ensuring that we had everything we needed for a relaxing visit. If youâre looking for a tranquil getaway with a unique atmosphere and stunning natural beauty, this cottage is an absolute gem. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for the opportunity to experience this special spot. Highly Recommended!
Our second time at this lovely casita next to Saguaro NP Rincon area. As before Alice and Dick were wonderful hosts. Best part: Tucson Rodeo Parade! Cheers Howard and Marcia.
The casita is situated on acreage, next to the host's home. Hosts were non invasive, yet very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable about the area. When asked, they made several activity suggestions that we loved. The property is away from city lights, however sounds from the major roadway could be heard. But that didn't take away from the pleasure of hearing coyotes howl and having wandering javelinas pass through. Amenities are simple, but sufficient (internet, but no TV). We loved our stay, and would absolutely stay there again.
One of our favorite VRBO stays and we've been all over the US. The hosts are wonderful people who understood our needs The Casita perfect size for two.
Cozy and comfortable casita conveniently located across from national park. Owners are fabulous people who strive to satisfy. Sit by a fire and look at the night sky while you recenter your life and priorities.
This is a clean, comfortable, somewhat no frills getaway. The driveway experience is like driving through the desert, because it basically is. The indoor space is cozy, and pretty basic, but absolutely fine. Unless, of course, you are looking for things like a TV. We were not, and it actually took us a few days to even realize there wasnât one. The outdoor space is where the Saguaro Casita really shines. It is a VERY natural setting, but then again, you can see how much work has gone into caring for the landscape. And itâs a great spot to watch for wildlife. We spotted some Javelinas and a Roadrunner on the property, which was fantastic!
If you like rural country desert setting with a very comfortable cottage this is the perfect lace for you. The hosts are fantastic being welcoming and and generous with information as well as offering use of their washer and dryer if needed. Highly recommend the place for a certain type of alternative traveler. Really close to national park and hiking. I would definitely return
Really appreciated this gorgeous desert setting adjacent to so many great hiking trails. Our host provided valuable local knowledge of nearby dining, and other gems. Already making plans to return!
