Beautiful character neighborhood. Just down the street from the pelican market which offers fresh daily baking and a grocery store. Just past that a block is Tastebuds Cafe which is an amazing coffee, wine, soup, sandwich bistro. The Hearth restaurant, chop steakhouse and Denny's are all short drive away from the house.
Public transport just outside the house.
Absolutely NO PARTIES OR EVENTS. No shoes in the house No eating in the bedrooms.
The Canary House easily filled all our needs for our family holiday visit. The kitchen is a good size and has lots of cookware and table settings for 6. The island is a stroke of genius with all the storage and the large work top. Beds are super comfortable, rooms were toasty warm. Back alley parking was especially appreciated. Dustin even came with his snowblower to tidy things up after a bit of snow. We would definitely stay here again.
The property was exactly like the description and suited our purposes very well. The property was clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable as well. A good experience.
The house was very clean and felt so cozy, with the convenient renovations, and mix of decorating with old and new. The host was great to communicate with - always replying shortly after I emailed her. It was also such a convenient location, close to the areas of Saskatoon we wanted to visit, like downtown, Riversdale, Riverside and Usana.
A wonderful, clean small home with many thoughtful touches and such a quaint aesthetic. It has very comfortable beds, a great shower, and all the items you need to make and enjoy a meal. It did take us a moment to find the cutlery.. ;) Dustin was very quick to respond to my questions.
Highly recommended!
Clean, bright and nicely decorated with antiques. Home has lots of character, comfortable beds, well-equipped. Nice west-facing backyard with small deck and BBQ, and a pergola in the corner of the yard to sit and enjoy the afternoon sun in. Centrally located, close to the Exhibition, Western Development Museum and Circle Drive. Would definitely recommend!
This was our second time staying at the Canary House, and we loved our stay just as much as the first time. This cute little house is perfectly located so that you can easily get to where ever you need to get to in the city. The home is fully stocked with everything that you will need, and the hosts are fantastic. They even came and shovelled us out of three feet of snow after a record snowfall in Saskatoon! I stayed here with my sister while visiting family and we were both felt so comfortable at this little gem. I would highly recommend the Canary House to anyone looking to stay in Saskatoon.
Wonderful place in a great neighborhood. You can tell that the hosts take pride in this property as it is well kept, beautifully appointed and has everything you need for your stay. We needed washer/dryer access for our young family and it was easily arranged with the host. We visited in spring so did not use the backyard as it was still snow covered, but it looked to be spacious for sitting outside in a private space come summer weather. Would definitely recommend!
We arrived at the Canary house late at night to a nicely shovelled walkway, and a toasty warm house. The kitchen is open to the living-room, which had all of the necessities to make ones stay comfortable, convenient, cozy, and welcoming. The bedrooms were lovely and again, so cozy and comfortable. My sister and I were in Saskatoon visiting an ill family member in the hospital, and coming back to the Canary house between visits was exactly where we needed to be to decompress, recharge, and, reset for the next day. Thanks so much for our wonderful hosts who obviously work very hard to take suck good care of their property and their guests. I would recommend this property to anyone without hesitation and I am planning to book here again for my next Saskatoon trip, whenever that is. My sister says that she too will be booking the Canary house when she returns to Saskatoon. This little place is an absolute gem!
Communication with owner was prompt and clear. The Canary is a spectacular 1946 built home with all the quaint touches. Was pleasantly surprised to find a new fence in the backyard along with BBQ, 3 different patio sitting options (gazebo, table with umbrella or upper patio sitting). Had everything we needed including access to the cleaning supplies and a steamer so that we could cleanup after ourselves. Air conditioning in the main living area was great along with a couple of fans. Definitely a bit of a challenge to cool the bedrooms on a hot day but overall much better than without any. I would 100% book here again. Felt like i was staying in my grandmothers old house but updated. Highly recommend this for your next stay.
The Canary might be small but has everything you need. Well appointed kitchen and lots of towels including kitchen towels and facecloths. Would stay again.
This was our second stay at The Canary. It is centrally located, nicely decorated and well-equipped. The owners respond quickly to questions. I was concerned that an older home would be cold in the winter but it was cozy! We will be back!
This is a sweet rental; it was very clean, well organized, the property manager was responsive and it was within walking distance to where I needed to be. I would stay again!
My daughter and I stayed at this property for a week while she was recovering from surgery. It is a lovely little house! We really appreciated all of the well-curated decorating touches that made us feel like we were staying in a "home" and not just in "accommodation". The kitchen was well-appointed, making it easy for us to prepare all of our meals. The location was great and made shopping easily accessible. We were there during an early cold-snap, and despite seeing -29 on my weather app, we were cozy and warm in the Canary and the walkways were shovelled daily. We needed to do a batch of laundry before we started our journey back to my home in BC, and the hosts were quick to respond and were very accommodating. I would highly recommend the Canary and I look forward to staying there again.
