Shopping for bargains

We came down to see Round Top and enjoyed Royers and lots of friendly people!. The breakfast bar at the barn was very adequate and the cats were great little hosts

Piece of heaven

This place was heaven to me. Full kitchen to use if needed. Fire pit out back surrounded by farm animals and the sweetest barn cats. And the BED...the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in. Can't wait to go back.

Disappointing

Very disappointing. The room was very modest, the entry cold and dirty, the shower was full of bugs and filthy. The heater kicked on and off ever few minutes making it hard to sleep. Kitchen and common areas were nice and owner left snacks and fresh fruit. We left after one night without a shower! At these rates, owner needs to step up their game.

Annual Antique Girls Trip

Visited Solid Rock Ranch for our annual Round Top antiques trip. Three besties, had the best time! It’s definitely a converted barn/horse stables/country atmosphere. The rooms were quaint, clean and quiet. Beds are comfortable. The bonus is the community kitchen and living room. If you enjoying meeting new people, socializing after a long day of shopping, this place is for you. The kitchen is generously stocked with breakfast items, coffee and tea, and snacks. We look forward to coming back y’all!

Solid Rock Ranch is fun loving country!

Loved staying in the red Barn, meeting CoCo and Truman (the cats). The area is scenic, the rooms are clean, the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast, community space offered everything! Mary M

Great place to stay for Fall Round Top Show

This is a cozy spot with many adorable animals outside. A unique experience to be enjoyed by all ages. Great continental breakfast. Clean and quiet. Thank you for your kindness. We had a great time! Plan to return.

Antique show stay

The concept of the barn/rooms is adorable. The room was clean and comfortable. We were there for the antique show/Round Top shopping, and I'd say the only downfall was that it was a bit strenuous to get into the ranch. If we would have purchased something like furniture , it would have been a very rough drive in. We didn't though...so we're good! I would say that it is about a 15/20 minute drive to Round Top proper from the property because of the gravel roads. All in all...precious concept and comfortable stay!

We Love this Place!!

This is our second time coming to Round Top and Carmine. We just love the Solid Rock Ranch. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the we love the kitties like our own!😻The Ranch is beautiful and the overall experience staying in a “barn” is special!! Thank you to all who keep this wonderful place going! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

Amazing retreat from the big city

This is an amazing place to get out of Austin or Houston. You feel secluded but not alone. The animals on the farm are amazing. We had a wonderful time. Be prepared to have a unique experience. Round Top is amazing and this spot is very conveniently located to the town. Go to the Vintage Hideaway! Only suggestion I have is buy drinks or food well before you get to this area. There is not a lot of choices unless you drive back to Brenham.

Such a special place!

First timers in town for the Antique Show. Exceeded all of our expectations from the stunning barn to our hostess and the grounds. Ww were richly blessed and will be back! Thank you sweet people and pets that made us feel so welcome!

Not What We Expected For the Price

The manager, Kellie, was very nice and went out of her way to accommodate us but the room itself was substandard in many respects: the room was too small for two beds given that there was no closet and virtually no room for luggage. The AC unit was quite loud and blew humid air in our face all night while trying to sleep, there were 2 nightstands but they were only big enough to hold a drink and one was located at the foot of the bed instead of beside it. There was no overhead lighting in the room and so even with 2 lamps the lighting was poor if you were trying to read at night or get dressed in the morning. There were 2 clothes hooks to hang clothes but one of them pulled out of the wall as they were not installed to carry the weight of clothing. The bedroom mattress was comfortable but the quality of the bed linen, pillows, and towels needed improvement. The bathroom was extremely small with a bathroom mirror so small that it was difficult to see your whole head when styling your hair or putting your makeup on. Although we knew there would be no television in our room, the TV in the breakfast room had Netflix but the only chairs were straight backed dining chairs so not comfortable for viewing at all. Other than that, breakfast/kitchen area was clean and cheerful and stocked with coffee, tea, soda, juice, yogurt, chips, cereal, prepackaged pastries and English muffins. We were there a week so this was a nice feature although we would have killed for an egg. They are doing a lot of great things for veterans at this location and the farm animals and resident cats are certainly charming. However for the nightly rate, the ranch needs to upgrade the amenities of the room as a stay of more than 2 nights is taxing under the current setup.

Fun country living!

Nice clean and cozy “stable” has everything you need! Short drive to Round Top and a nice kitchen and lounge area. I wish we would have had more time to hang out and relax but we were too busy shopping! We would definitely recommend staying here!

The best get away place

It was amazing to stay at. It was very secluded but it was easy to get to the towns. We loved waking up and being able to feed the animals there. There was also a kitchen which was super convenient. This was a great place to go

Adorable

Nice guiet get away. Beautiful surroundings. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Nice continental breakfast. If you’re headed out this way, I highly recommend this place. My only suggestion is that the little dirt road leading to the barn needs a better marker that is visible at night.

Not a fan.

The check in instructions we were emailed said go to the last room on the left and the key is by the door. This is exactly what we did. In the morning we were fussed at and told that we entered the wrong room, but they "would let us stay there". When we explained that we did exactly what the email said, there was no apology given. The room was clean and VERY small but had 3 rat traps in the tiny room?

Very clean place in a lovely rural setting

At first I was apprehensive because of the gravel road and remoteness. But once I got my bearings I realized it was not remote at all. The on-site hostess more than made up for any erroneous ideas I had. Would definitely return!
