Majestic Retreat, enjoy this peaceful and elegant country house with full wrap around verandas, spectacular valley views, kitchen garden, woodburner fireplace, chickens, geese, wineries, on the cusp of Girraween National Park, with the chance to see Wallabies, Kangaroos, Tawnyâs and all kind of wildlife, including our very own massive Rock Wombat! 5 - 12 mins drive to Ballandean and Stanthorpe's restaurants, shops and pubs.
Clear location and check in instructions. Place was so clean and tidy. Good quality linen for everyone which was very appreciated. Property so well maintained and private. Only downside was only one toilet shared by five of us, but we survived! We would love to come back.
RussellThank you for an amazing 3 day stay at your property. Location, property, everything was just perfect. The only negative is we didn't stay longer. We will be back.
We loved our stay at Granite Belt Majestic! The location was absolutely perfect- just 15 minutes to both Stanthorpe and Girraween National Park, and only 5â7 minutes from our favourite vineyards like Savina Lane, Tobinâs, and Ballandean. The accommodation itself was cosy and welcoming the ideal spot to switch off and unwind. We didnât even use the internet, preferring to enjoy being off-grid and truly reconnecting with each other and nature.Weâll definitely be back again next year. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful base to explore the best of the Granite Belt region.
We had a great stay at Russellâs house. Beautiful home, great facilities, good quiet location, not far from town and wineries. The kids loved the animals. Comfy bed, the fluffiest of fluffy towels. Highly recommend. Thanks for having us
The house was modern, clean and well equiped. A lovely private getaway will plenty of space to explore. The kids particularly loved playing with the chickens
This is a beautiful property. It is in a remote area, on a dirt road. Very peaceful. The house had everything we needed, including fresh eggs from the resident chickens.
Me ,my partner and friends, had a pleasant weekend stay at the property. It was peaceful and relaxing.( Love the geese, they were friendly)
We would of love to stay longer, but we would stay longer next time if it comes available to us.
Thankyou Russell.
The property is tucked away in Fletcher and is so calm and peaceful. The house is clean and neat, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We loved that you can tech-detox if required but there is wifi access if needed. Our favourite memory is sitting outside on the deck watching the sunset while sipping delicious regional wine and enjoying our dog's joy at watching the geese, chickens and wallabies from her perch. We highly recommend staying at Granite Belt Majestic Retreat.
This property gave the experience that we wanted which was to get out of the city for a week and relax.
The inside is nicely decorated which gives a nice new feel.
You are provided with Kitchen, Laundry and Bathroom products for you to use whilst you are there.
My daughter loved feeding the chickens everyday, seeing the Geese and kangaroos on dusk.
This property is smack bang in the middle of Stanthorpe and Girraween. We enjoyed its location. Wineries are close by.
Russell communicates really well if you need anything during your stay and we loved our interactions with the owners.
The house was very comfortable & clean. It was a very peaceful area. We loved the slow combustion fire, as we had one before and miss it terribly. Our 2 dogs enjoyed strolling around the garden with the geese đ We drove into Stanthorpe, which is close by. Enjoyed a long walk through lovely parklands & went to some lovely shops. Unfortunately we had rain for a couple of days, but we were able to relax & enjoy a peaceful holiday. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with the barbecue & he arrived within 20 minutes to fix the problem. We would definitely recommend Granite Belt Majestic Retreat.
Perfect place for serenity and a taste of country living. Very well maintained and tasteful accommodation with a gated enclosed deck for dogs to admire the animals - geese and chooks as well as visiting roos. Close to several excellent wineries as well as Giraween National Park. The host was welcoming and left supplies as well as inviting us to use the eggs the chooks had laid. Refreshing to have noticed that explain about the septic system and its use and none of the long list of donâts that now seem to populate properties. We felt genuinely welcome and would love to return. The perfect weather and beautiful sunsets were a bonus. Thank you Russell. Hawys, Liz and Paul (humans) and Albert and Macca (the dogs)
We stayed at this house for 5 nights over Christmas and would have stayed for longer if we could have. The house is in a peaceful, beautiful setting on a property shared by a couple of good-natured geese and some chickens, and having fresh eggs was a bonus. The large kitchen is well equipped and enabled us to cook a 3 course Christmas dinner for the family, which we enjoyed on the wrap-around verandah. Russell and Elisabeth are considerate hosts and they have put thought into this property to ensure it is homely. Stanthorpe is an easy 12 minute drive away and so it was no trouble grabbing provisions when needed.
HI we are Russell, Elisabeth and David (our boy). I'm originally from Scotland, Elisabeth is from Bavaria (German) and David was born a Queenslander!! Elisabeth and I moved to Australia 30 years ago!! We both work in Health Care, Elisabeth is a RN and I'm a Social Worker in the Mental Health field supporting young people and children. We are welcoming and friendly, and looking forward to you having the best time in our amazing majestic retreat.
The climate is just perfect with cool evenings in summer and warm days. The country side is truly majestic with national parks, walks, amazing food and wine and a really friendly community. If you want a warm winters night in the firelight, this is the perfect location to sit back, watch the Milky Way and get lulled by the flickering wood-burning fireplace. Restaurants, pubs and coffee shops are within 5 mins (Ballandean) and 12 mins (Stanthorpe)
We are just far enough away: 5 mins (Ballandean) and 12 mins (Stanthorpe), to have peace, quiet, privacy but a quick drive to the heart of everything the Granite Belt has to offer. It is so beautiful to just sit on the full wrap around veranda, and look down the valley at the garden, or across to see the nature that surrounds the property.
