We chose this unit for a family weekend getaway and liked how clean and freshly renovated it was. Unfortunately, the heater was underpowered, making the unit very cold. We had to rely heavily on the electric blankets provided. The bathroom had no heat lamps, so showering was unpleasant and cold. Thereâs also no air conditioning, which could be an issue in summer.
After booking for four adults, the owner contacted me saying we owed extra because the price only covered three people due to a system error in the final price advertised and paid. Since I booked after the cancellation period, cancelling felt like it was not an option. This unexpected charge felt suspicious, so I told the owner only three adults would stay to buy me time to clarify with the booking site, due to the late nature of the request.
Upon arrival, we noticed cameras on all unit entries. The next morning, a payment request came through based on footage from these cameras. Although stated to be for security, it felt like it was more used for guest surveillance making it intrusive and uncomfortable.
The booking platform advised us not to make any further payments. The owner was otherwise pleasant and later said the payment was optional, but this was not made clear earlier.
If these issues are fixed, it would be a fine place to stay. The unit is clean and renovated, and the owner was otherwise pleasant. With better communication and heating, it could be a reasonable option.
