Finding genuinely unique coastal homes nowadays is rare, so if you are looking for something special this summer look no further than Tradewinds.
This sophisticated mid-century home sits on the cliff in North Lorne, perfect for those who want something a little more private and enjoy the finer things in life. Tradewinds is perfect for a memorable summer escape. You’ll find five sun-drenched bedrooms, four bathrooms, an inviting hilltop magnesium pool and – the single greatest feature – sprawling, uninterrupted views of the ocean.
The location is special – a short 20-minute walk from town if you feel like getting amongst the hustle and bustle or a quick 2-minute walk down your own private path if you want to avoid the crowds and take a dip in the pristine waters of North Lorne.
Built-in 1965, this mid-century marvel was one of the most notable homes for entertaining Melbourne socialites through the 70s–90s, home to pool parties and luncheons this property has been beautifully preserved and retains much of its original design aesthetics. Having recently undergone some tasteful renovations, you will notice many beautiful things at Tradewinds but you can’t go past the real show stopper - the view.
This property has been cleverly designed with floor to ceiling windows framing the breathtaking and everchanging ocean views. Enjoy daily dolphin spotting, sunsets and sunrises from the comfort of any room in the house.
Tradewinds is well equipped with multiple outdoor and indoor living zones – you can take your pick of 4 balconies to enjoy a quiet morning coffee, or play some chess in the sitting room before your afternoon dip in the pool.
The property is split into four main areas, the poolside zone, the main house, ‘The Studio’ and ‘The Honeymoon Suite’.
The main house is all about the expansive open plan living area that is fitted out with all its original mid-century furniture, warm plush carpets (shoes off please) are a throwback in time and provide a canvas for the abundant natural light. You will be searching for the disco playlist in no time.
The rest of the gang can lay their heads in Studio 54…well maybe let’s just call it ‘The Studio”. Complete with 2 bedrooms, 2 balconies, a kitchenette, dining table, lounge and spacious deck area. The end bedroom is arguably the best view in the house.
Beyond all this is the experience. Décor, styling and all the little touches that you will find in this prized jewel are what will make your stay extra special. Tradewinds deserves to be loved and respect and to those who do, a warm welcome and open door is yours for an unforgettable beach holiday.

Pricing is based around seasons, length of stay and number of guests. It is important all bookings reflect the exact number of guests. If this changes, you must contact us. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the published rates across all booking platforms, however Great Ocean Road Real Estate Holidays reserves the right to correct pricing errors.
Unless otherwise previously agreed, all stays must only be used for private residential usage and to accommodate the number of guests stated on your booking. Unless ‘Pets Welcome’ is advertised, the property is strictly no pets.
All holiday accommodation bookings are accepted on the basis that all occupants will treat the property with the same respect as their own home in accordance with the “House Rules”. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10pm and 8am.
