23 Poplar was relatively clean. It appeared that no one had been in the house in weeks. There were dead bugs and spiders/cobwebs around the lights. The carpets look new and the sheets/comforter were in great condition. I would definitely recommend putting a king sized bed in the master, a queen is not sufficient. The blinds kept us up all 3 nights in the master due to the heat kicking on and them clanking against each other. The furniture is very old and tired and if you want things like liquid soap, youâre going to need to purchase yourself. This house is the bare minimum and slightly overpriced. If youâre looking to stay there within the next 6months, be aware there is construction on a house behind this one so you will hear saws, drills and large bangs which are startling to anyone, especially dogs. We were not notified of this prior to our stay.
We stayed over the long xmas weekend 2022. The picture and description should include the statement, not for bad knee or anyone old or young that is unstable. No mention of the steep driveway (which was not cleared) Thank God for 4 wheel drive. OR steep outside steps to front door and decks with thick ice and crusty hard snow. The Septic tank needs to be emptied, as the whole house smells when you do dishes, take a shower or run the washer.
No way this was going to be fixed over the holiday weekend so we were stuck in a smelly house for 4+ days.
If your a cook bring your tools and supplies - basic items provided.
Hot tub had 3 working jets and was murky.
The carpets were stained and needed cleaning asap.
The sound of guns being fired started at 7am and went all day, which was unsettling the dogs, as well as us. Loud bags and rapid fire,. They must have gotten guns for xmas?
We made the best of it and reported to Mt. Properties management, who offered us a 5 percent discount on our next visit.
Great house with the highlight being the deck/hot tub overlooking a secluded, wooded area - very private and scenic. The interior is nice with a comfortable layout upstairs (the main living area). Gas wood stove is easy to operate and provides nice heat and ambiance. A couple minor issues:
--2 of 3 bedrooms are downstairs and they get very cold this time of year (late November; the cool temp is great for sleeping once settled in but chilly going down there are first - to get it warm down there I think we'd need to make it hot upstairs)
-- the hot tub water level was a little low.
We enjoyed our stay and would happily do it again!
