Jason's place was absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay on the lakefront. The view was incredible, and the use of the fire pit in the evenings was a really nice touch. The place itself was super spacious, too. Overall, it was a fantastic stay.
Family group of eight attending a wedding in Vacherie rented the house for 3 nights. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for meals. The three and a half bathrooms were very convenient and sleeping arrangements were more than adequate. The location and environment were outstanding with beautiful views of the lake.
House was pretty and location was stunning. However, the house had not been cleaned in a while: dead roaches/waterbugs/spiders in cabinets, nasty showers, and not cleaned toilets. Kitchen had the bare minimum as far as utensils and pans. etc. If your vacation plans are to cook as we do always do, may need to supplement with things you need. We had a good time and everyone made do. Don't think I have ever rented a place that had not been thoroughly cleaned by our arrival....guess this was our time!
We certainly enjoyed our stay. The views and the bird watching off the back deck are certainly entertaining. We were even lucky enough to see an alligator one morning. I wish we hadn't been so busy with football in Baton Rouge, so we could have enjoyed the property even more. A return visit is a must! The town of Vacherie is so precious. We met lots of great people, especially at DJ's Grill (we went there twice). Thank you for letting us stay at your unique home.
It was a great roomy place to stay. Had everything we wanted. it was a beautiful place and it really had everything we wanted. We were able to cook and there was everything we needed. I especially liked that there were plenty of bathrooms and washing machines. The patio area under house was nice as well with ceiling fans and picnic tables. We did use the grill. The kids loved the ping-pong table, too.
The only problem we had was the central air conditioner on the upstairs not working. But Jason answered my multiple calls. Repair man came out twice. When it couldn't be fixed he had someone come put window units in. Heat index 116 while we were there. The window units worked well in bedrooms but probably needed a larger unit for large room upstairs or maybe one more unit. I would give 5 stars if it were not for the inconvenience if the air conditioner not working properly.
We enjoyed a fantastic stay! Quality fishing and outdoor time. Great to be away from electronics. The house is new, big and has all modern amenities. We drove into New Orleans for dinner and a night of fun.
We really enjoyed the house. It was great for our family of 6, everyone had a bed of their own and the kids had a hang out area upstairs.
We weren't familiar with this part of the country, we really enjoyed the tour at the Evergreen Plantation, which was pretty close.
If you've not been down there, be prepared for long drive times as many of the roads meander quite a bit. Fortunately the small towns and countryside that you drive through is very pretty.
This was an awesome vacation meeting up with family! Had all the space we needed and it was so peaceful! Mosquitos were not too bad. Recommendations for a grocery store and restaurant were perfect!! Thank you Jason & Ashley! Your home is beautiful and in a perfect location without being too far from anything!
The 5 of us had a family vacation for the holidays in southern Louisiana. We enjoyed exploring New Orleans for a week, but this spacious and comfortable house was a haven of calm and peace after the hustle and bustle. We kayaked, played ping-pong, cooked gumbo and jambalaya, visited nearby Laura and Whitney plantations (highly recommend!), walked around the neighboring lakeside houses, and most importantly, rested. We could spend hours bird-watching from pretty much every room in the house. Thanks Jason and Ashley for making our stay a breeze!
The house was very clean and adequate size for the 6-10 people that were there.
Beautiful house with 3 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. More than adequate for our guests. It was hot, humid and buggy the majority of our stay, so we stayed on the decks and didn't venture out on the grass. It was a lovely view and saw an occasional gator and eagle along with other birds and large turtles.
If you like peace , tranquility and family togetherness it's a perfect place! If your aim is going into New Orleans and Baton Rouge, etc. it's over an hour drive each way.
Jason and Ashley were great hosts and responded quickly when I had a question.
We really appreciated how quickly we were able to pull this vacation together at the last minute since our vacation to the FL Keys was cancelled due to the hurricane. Jason was great to work with - very responsive to all of our questions. The house was very well kept. We saw a lot of interesting things and tasted food that we had never had before. Several plantations are close to this house to tour. We went to Oak Alley Plantation where we also enjoyed a nice lunch at their restaurant. We also visited Avery Island to see how Tabasco sauce was made and its history. Of course, we went to New Orleans several times as well. We enjoyed watching the alligators at dusk from the balcony. We also caught catfish, trout and a few snails off of the dock. Thanks for your hospitality.
This was my second stay for a reason. The place is perfect in every way, comfortable, well appointed, great atmosphere, peaceful, spacious, and fantastic hosts down to the little welcome note on the refrigerator. It couldn't be done any better.
Awesome experience! 7 family members present to celebrate 2 birthdays. The home is very roomy with lots of sunlight and great views from the balconies. We enjoyed a kayak paddle on the lake and watching the alligators swim by. In close proximity to the plantations we visited and enjoyed great food at the local grill. Would definitely stay again!
Spectacular new house with amazing views, the house and furnishings are brand new. Fun small town area with friendly locals. Great cat fishing. If you want somewhere to go that feels a thousand miles away but is relatively close this is a winner.
We had a wonderful time and the house was well stocked and clean. We watched alligators from the deck swimming in the canal! Definitely recommend this house for a great vacation spot.
The Perfect Getaway for a Family Reunion or to Unwind and Reconnect
Simply phenomenal â everything was perfect from reservations to checking out. The owners are very accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed and more. It is a lovely home where you can sit on the picnic tables and enjoy the backyard, move up to the 1st floor or 2nd floor and enjoy the beautiful sunrises. The house easily accommodated all six of us without feeling like we were intruding on each others space. Itâs perfectly located for a motorcycle trip to Grand Isle and a day trip to Bourbon St. The rides were awesome as you cross many long bridges, lots of new sights to see. Weâve stayed in many VRBO homes and this home is #1.
Our family of 6 had a very comfortable stay in this home. It has than enough space for everyone. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck every morning and evening. It's away from town, very quiet neighborhood, and a short drive to Oak Alley and Laura plantations. The owner, Jason, was awesome to work with before and during our stay. He responded quickly to any questions I had.
We had a great time at this place. Watching alligators and enjoying the tranquil scenery. The owners made sure that everything was in order and were very fast to respond when we had questions.
We were about 9 adults visited the place over the weekend. The house had a lake side view with the excellent patio for bird watching. The owners even provided binoculars. The neighborhood was very quiet and friendly. Owners were awesome, they kept pretty much everything you want for the vacation. The only problem we had was the master bedroom toilet was not flushing out properly. But that is not a stopping point, we used the other ones.
We thoroughly enjoyed the house, if possible I will visit the place again. My rating for the house would be 5 *s.
We chose this property as our "nearby get-away" with it being only a short drive from our home. The house is surrounded by Louisiana's fascinating history and culture, from the nearby plantations and neighbors.
This house was built on what is likely the last development in Lac des Allemands. The lake is influenced by saltwater which makes for great crabbing and fishing. The water lagoons and plant life allow for diverse wildlife, including an array of bird species and the occasional alligator.
