Sant Llorenç des Cardassar is a small rural village in Mallorca of about 3.000 inhabitants. Although it is very close to the coast (10 km), it preserves a large part of the traditional Mallorcan rhythm of life. Its houses also preserve the traditional Mallorcan typology with their stone façades. It is located in the centre of a valley surrounded by mountains. The village has an extensive pedestrian area with restaurants, cafés and shops. Tonineta is about 100 metres from the church square, the centre of the village. The weekly market is held on Thursdays in the church square. The local fiestas are held in mid-August and early September.
