The place is a perfect base camp for a weekend of hiking. There was just 2 of us but would be comfy for 6 or more. Plenty of provisions in kitchen and bathrooms making this home extremely functional. A nightly soak in the hot tub was just what sore hiking muscles needed.
We loved the location. The main bedroom being a loft was not an issue for us. The kitchen, dining area and family room were perfect for our family of four to cook, lounge and watch tv together during a rainy spring break.
Thank you!
We all liked the house. It's very cozy and has everything you might need to cook big family dinners, board games, and movies to watch. The surrounding area is excellent, with many hikes and lakes. We highly recommend this house.
This is no cookie cutter rental. There is beautiful handmade pottery and art around and the place feels like it has been lived in and loved. At the same time, amidst all this warmth is a professional level of clean, and the location is perfect for walking to the river and the community pool. We love cooking in the well-outfitted kitchen, playing boardgames at the large dining room table or living room coffee table, and relaxing in the amazing sheltered hot tub in the forest!
The property is big and very comfortable for large family or a group of friends. The listing and pictures are accurate. It is located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. I really enjoy the pool at the end of the day after long hiking trips.
Home was clean and offered plenty of space for the five of us girls to feel comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of cookware and supplies we needed for preparing meals. Great neighborhood to walk around and the backyard was also a relaxing place to enjoy breakfast. Instructions for the stay and for clean-up were easy to find and follow. This was a decent home at a reasonable price for our girls' weekend away.
We stayed here before a year before. The couch was broken then (springs) making it uncomfortable with limited seating because of it. The next year it was in the same condition. I seriously thought it would be replaced. There is no way they arenât aware of the condition of the couch. For the price the couch should be better that what they have. Also this year the hot tub didnât work. They refunded me $106 for it. We were disappointed and will not be back.
Our family of 5 stayed for 4 nights. While we had enough room, we found a few things lacking.
First, as other reviewers have shared, there is a lack of privacy. The âmasterâ is a loft over the living room and shares a bathroom with the kidsâ bunk room. Also, the closets are locked and canât be used.
Second, there is no overhead lighting in the living rooms/ bdrms at all, and the lamps that are available are very old and donât put out a lot of light. The house is in a wooded area, so even on sunny days, thereâs not much outside light coming in.
Third, the very large sofa looks super inviting, but is nearly impossible to sit on. The springs are sticking up into every cushion, creating lumps and uncomfortable poking in every seat. Definitely needs replacing.
Pros: The hot tub was nice, although we couldnât find the floating chlorine holder anywhere. Plenty of dishes and nice counter space in the kitchen. Laundry area is nice a spacious (doubles as 2nd bathroom). Our 10 yr old gymnast daughter loved the spiral staircase, which she used as a climbing gym. NOTE: she fit very easily between the bars, which wouldâve made me nervous if we had small children.
Overall, the house worked for our needs and was a in good location for exploring Mt Hood, Portland, and the White Salmon River. But it could be better with some updates.
This home has everything for a great ski vacation. The house was immaculate. Fully stocked with everything we needed. Beds were super comfy with both firm and soft pillows. Plenty of extra blankets. Lots of games and movies. Close to skiing, sledding, restaurants, etc. We will absolutely be visiting again!!
The cabin was really nice! All 7 of us fit comfortably. There was plenty of seating and beds. The kitchen was well equipped so cooking was easy. There were lots of games and movies for everyone to enjoy. We appreciated the kids books and reading chairs. Story time at the cabin was great!
There is a little wood fire stove in with a small supply of wood. The kids had a great time making some sâmores and hanging around the fire.
The spiral staircase was kind of tricky. It has some lights hanging to help us see it but I still almost hit my head a couple times anyway. Just be careful around it.
The property is one minute away from a cute trail that leads to the river. I did this hike with my 5month old and it was quite pleasant.
My girlfriends and I spent a weekend in this cabin home and it was great. Comfortable sleeping arrangements, weâll stocked kitchen, lovely art and touches throughout the house. Lots of games, hot tub and close to skiing and restaurants. Set back off the road in a quiet and quaint neighborhood it was a lovely getaway. We will certainly be back.
We stayed there with family and really enjoyed the house. There were lots of games for different ages of kids, and a fabulous selection of books for all ages. Everything was clean, the beds were comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed.
Everything was clean and neat, the space was perfect for our family. We loved the hot tub, the community access to the pool and tennis just 2 min walk away, friendly neighborhood. It was the perfect weekend getaway.
The house was clean, but definitely needs to be deep cleaned. Especially the cobwebs. Just felt dirty, even though it had been cleaned. There were a few issues with some dirty dishes and sheets on one bed, but that made us doubt everything elseđŹ but idk. I try to be very understanding when houses are so old. But it had the old feeling and smell, with cute ideas. Fresh paint, new furniture that didn't seem so gross to sit on đđŹ and a deep clean, might think about bringing my family there. Thank God it was only a girls weekend. Much easier to brush some of these things off.
My family had a wonderful time in this cabin/house. It looks like a house on the outside but like a cabin on the inside. The hot tub was great and much needed at the end of all day skiing. The stairs can be dangerous for hitting your head on so be careful of that. 3 adults hit their head on it. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed. We will definitely rent this again.
Home was comfortable with a great layout for family activities. Loved the games and books available. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. for cooking easy meals. We happened to be there during a VERY cold period and the house was chilly without the heaters running constantly. I imagine during our normal milder winter weather it is less chilly in the home. The hot tub was great! Overall a great choice for families. It is casual and lived-in enough that we didn't fear that our kids would ruin someone's fancy interior decorating. Teenagers with a nostalgia for older video games will love the PS2 in the back bedroom. Easy drive up to Mount Hood ski areas.
Enjoyed the stay and so much space. Not lacking is peace and quiet. The neighborhood was pleasant with no through traffic. The kitchen was larger than expected as well as the division of rooms being a nice distance is wanting privacy. One tiny note no more coffee filters were available but we went to the store a few minutes away in Welches.
We loved being nestled in the trees right off 26.
The neighbors were great.!! We enjoyed the openness of the home and how well it stayed warm. It has such a warm welcoming feeling as soon as you walk in. The Hot Tub was clean. I did bring my own test stripâs and was pleasantly impressed to see chemicals were up to sanitary conditions. Weâre looking forward to spending time there again this Summer.
It was a great house with enough supplies for anything that we needed. If we had any questions, they were very prompt with their response and to help us out. We highly recommend.
