We loved our stay! Being able to swim and to take long walks around the property was exactly the escape we needed from quarantined city life. Joe was the best host! He took us out to feed the animals and made sure we had everything we needed. We plan to book this house again.
We loved staying at this ranch - we had everything we needed and were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country with easy access to Austin.
We loved all the animals and Joe Turner was great- he made several trips with his Mule to take us out to see them.
The Turners made sure we had everything we needed and we would love to come back someday and vacation here again! - the Morte family
This is a wonderful property for any group/family that wants to visit Austin, but have a pool and a unique 'country' feel. Plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen was well stocked, pool was well kept, rules well laid out. Also, viewing the animals was amazing and is a truly unique experience! Our group was able to get ubers to/from downtown and the airport with about a 10-15 min wait. Not a bad ride into the Downtown/Rainey Street area. ~40 min drive to COTA and Lake Travis. We will certainly be staying here again.
We loved the house, the pool & the animals. The camels were awesome. Not everyone can wake up & see camels, wildebeest & zebra right outside. We had so much fun. The pool was great a welcome relief from the heat. Though out by the pool there was always a steady breeze blowing through which was wonderful. In the mornings sitting out on the deck you would even get a chill, in July !!!!!!
Our stay at the game ranch exceeded all of our expectations. Upon our arrival at the game ranch we were greeted by camels in the driveway, zebras and wildebeest in the pasture in front of the ranch house.
We booked our stay at the game ranch for a golf outing in SW Austin and we got much, much more. The golf in the area was great. We chose Barton Creek Lake Side, Falcon Head, Grey Rock and Hyatt Hill Country Lost Pines. All of the courses were great and close to the Game Ranch. Except Lost Pines it's close to the airport.
The ranch house was spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool was just what the Dr. ordered after four rounds of golf in 100 heat.
The area restaurants were great. Don't miss the Salt Lick for BBQ, Pieous has wood fired pizza and the pastrami plate is the best. Rolling in Thyme and Dough was a great choice for breakfast and the Creek Road Cafe was excellent.
What our group didn't expect was the quality of craft breweries and distilleries just minutes from the ranch house. If you stay at the ranch I recommend Deep Eddies Vodka, Twisted X Brewery, Treaty Oak Distillery, Revolution Spirits, Last Stand Brewery and Jester King.
We rented the home for our family to stay at while attending our sons wedding. Our grand kids loved being able to get up and close to the animals. Our beds was very comfortable and all dishes and linens were clean. I would recommend this property to anyone!

Full of surprises
Beautiful property and pool. The Animals were a delight! Unfortunately there were many maintenance (including safety) issues such as entry stairs and
patio with loose rock. Bunk room is not suitable for adults. Coffee making facilities were not as described, nor were they adequate for 6 adults. Lightbulbs missing, advertised recliners that didnât recline, toilet pocket door that didnât closeâŠ. Lovely spot but a reall shame that so many issues existed. It did not stop us from having fun but but some attention to maintenance and detail could make it 5 star great!
Wonderful stay at the ranch. The Pool was lovely, kitchen well stocked and the animal a joy to watch migrate each day. A wonderful getaway for us and still close enough to town for our family there to come back and forth. Loved it all!
Our entire family (4 adults & 3 7yr-olds) LOVED this propertyâŠcoffee sunrises, cocktail sunsets and so much in between.
The exotic animals were of course a highlightâŠthe kids loved watching the morning feeding (especially those tall camels) and giving MamaDonk her favorite apples kept them all in giggles.
The ranch is perfectly locatedâŠso many Austin sites are just minutes away. We were tourists in the mornings and enjoyed the ranch in the afternoons/evenings. The living area had plenty of room for all to enjoy a movie, and of course the pool was in constant use. Where else can you swim with your grandkids while zebras & camels cruise by.
This property really is a bit of hill country heavenâŠgo stay with Joe & his animals. You wonât regret it.
Excellent propertyâŠgreat for families. The property is well kept! The animals are enjoyable to watch as they roam the property. We loved our visit!!!
This large property has a view of downtown Austin lights at night and a very serene view of Texas sunsets.
The exotic animals created an unexpected excitement for the kids as well as the adults.
We really enjoyed the house and the property. It's in a great location for activities in South Austin and is 20min from Zilker Park area (think ACL Fest), 30min from downtown/UT, and 40min from Airport/COTA. We went for NASCAR weekend and it was perfect for both those going to the race and those hanging around the house. Kids loved the pool and the animals, the adults loved the convenience, the ranch house feel, and the sunrises.
We had a great stay! The place was just as expected but we were blown away by the wildlife - a baby wildebeest was born our last morning there! The animals were great and the location was wonderful.
This was one of the Most Unique Places we have ever stayed as a Family! We loved the Ranch! The animals were so cool to see daily! There was plenty of room for us all- My husband, myself, 3 teenage boys and our daughter. The setting was Fantastic - expansive and serene. The home had a true Texas Feel (with a dose of safari outside ;) We would definetely stay again!!
