Over the river and through the woods, Grandpa’s Lake House offers a delightful retreat on beautiful Woahink Lake. Spanning two floors of living space, this spacious home offers gorgeous lake views and plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Enjoy an air hockey table - there is even a toy bin for the little ones. On crisp evenings, get cozy by the fireplace and play one of the provided board games or head outside to take a dip in the private hot tub. Plenty of adventures are also close at hand with Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and the charming Old Town section of Florence nearby.

Wall-to-wall windows in the main living area showcase beautiful lake views, while a wood-burning fireplace with floor-to-ceiling stone surround creates a cozy vibe. Upstairs, a family room features a sleeper sofa, 65-inch TV and an air hockey table. Bay windows offer even more superb lake views along with an inviting reading nook. The well-equipped kitchen provides a full suite of stainless steel appliances. When you’re ready to dine, you’ll find a large table for up to 10 and counter seating for two.

Overlooking the lake, the private deck has a gas grill, outdoor seating, and a table. An adjacent hot tub offers the perfect spot to enjoy relaxing views. Complimentary WiFi, a washer/dryer, a high chair, a Pack ‘n Play, a booster seat, and baby gates.

WHAT’S NEARBY
The hot tub was replaced in November, 2022.
Spend fun-filled days swimming, boating, and fishing on Woahink Lake. For a thrilling adventure, head to nearby Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and rent an ATV or take a guided Sand Rail tour. A short 10-minute drive, Historic Old Town Florence offers lovely shops, local galleries, and quaint cafes.

This rental does not include air conditioning.
The bunk room and guest bedroom are both heated via a space heater.
The wood stoves in the entryway and upstairs family room are not operational.
The outdoor firepit is not operational.
The boat dock on the property is unsafe and not for guest use.
Please note that a long-term tenant lives in the guest house located off the driveway.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Grampa's Lake House was wonderful, an older house with charm. Plenty of room to have separate space, and also have everyone come together for a long overdue visit. The living area is huge, and the view of the lake is amazing from any of the floor to ceiling windows. Access to the lake is the best, just a few yards, not steep at all and your in the water. The hot tub seats 4 comfortably, it definitely needs a feet cleaning area before you get in.... nice evening lights as well. The kitchen is good sized, lots of work space and a nice sized fridge. The beds are great, all are memory foam, and for me and my family.... nothing is better! Nice job to the owners for making that upgrade! (It's always a deal maker for us) The family room upstairs is big and laid out nicely, huge TV, and game area, lots of seating. Blackout curtains in the bedrooms, nice touch. If you are looking for modern and elaborate, this is not your place, but it has everything you need to enjoy actually visiting with the one's you love. The water pressure is not great... not at all, but there's plenty of it and lottsa hot water.... if you're patient lol. The kitchen could use some restocking of utensils, large and small. The coffee pot is old and a little tired, I know the feeling. The pots and pans are few and not of any good quality. The only TV is upstairs, so unless you're all willing to watch together... might not work for you. Overall, we loved it. Also, please update the photos on your website.

We loved staying at this property last summer and don't remember any water issues. On the first evening of this trip there was a wide spread power outage and after the power came on there was not water. Within a couple of hours someone arrived to flip a switch to begin working again, however the water pressure was too low in every faucet to even shower for the entire trip. With 9 people playing in the lake and ocean for 3 days, this was problematic. Also we found little worms in the toilet when we arrived so we bought bottled water. Love the property though! House could use some updating and TLC. Seems like there are electrical issues. Lots of flickering lights upstairs and a light bulb missing from desk lamp in master.

Loved this house and its location! It has a private sandy beach in a protected cove so it’s not windy. Perfect for kids to splash around. Would stay there again!!

Ok but not great

The home is spacious and has some great amenities. The washer and dryer are great. We loved the chess table and air hockey table. However, there are a lot of things in obvious disrepair. Screens were missing in the bedrooms, so you couldn’t open the windows. Electrical outlets were sticking out of the wall. There was black mold in the shower. The house was only surface clean. The kitchen cupboards were greasy. A toilet was loose. Furniture was falling apart. The hot tub didn’t get hot. For what we paid, I expected more. I wouldn’t stay there again unless they made major repairs. It’s a very used house. A few repairs would go a long way. We made management aware of the issues and are hopeful they will fix the issues.

Ample space, comfy furniture. However every single towel, washcloth were all terribly full of awful sour mildew smell!!! Could use some better cleaning-Cobwebs everywhere inside, main bedroom mattress downstairs was covered in stains-gross. Could not open windows or doors to allow fresh air in because there were no screens anywhere to avoid letting in critters or insects. Views from the hot tub was nice!

The Perfect Spot to Unwind

Grandpa's Lake House was the perfect setting for our family to relax and unwind. The lake view from the livingroom and the deck was spectacular, both in the morning with a cup of coffee and in the evening with a glass of wine. The neighborhood was beautiful and so quiet. The house itself was so large that we were all able to find privacy when needed. There were some minor issues with the cleanliness of the house (mostly the kitchen), but nothing that we couldn't rectify ourselves. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through Old Town Florence, and spending a day at the ocean at Heceta Beach. By the end of our stay, not one of us wanted to leave. Not even our 3-year old grandson!

The Perfect Spot to Unwind

Grandpa's Lake House offered the peace and quiet that we were needing. We were able to sit inside the house in the mornings with a cup of coffee and look out the large picture windows at the smooth as glass lake. In the evenings we enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck and in the hot tub while viewing the lake and its wildlife. The house itself was so large that the six of us were able to find privacy when needed. Old Town Florence was a joy to explore and having Haceta Beach and the ocean so close was a bonus. Our 3-year old grandson had the time of his life!

Grandpa’s lake house

This home on the lake was beautiful and peaceful as we’d hoped. Everything was as advertised. There are neighbors/ houses nearer than we thought would be but everyone was respectful of space and very quiet. A wonderful location to relax.

Beautiful views

This house has lots to offer. It’s close to the water and easy to access. Great for a big family or getaway. Not a lot of closets so plan accordingly. I love it and will definitely be going again.

Granpa's Lake House 9-9 to 9-13-2024

The location of this house, right on the shore of Lake Woahink, is perfect. We brought our kayak so could launch right from the backyard. The dock appears to be unusuable and would be too high to use as the launch and entry into the kayak. This house really needs some love from the owners. While the beds, linens, towels and bathrooms were clean, there are just a lot of surfaces that without too much effort, could be cleaned. The door frames, the inside of the upstairs shower, the garden window in the kitchen all had what looked like old dirt that had been accumulating for some time. None of this means we didn't enjoy our stay but I think some guests would be very put off by the grime. The wifi, the kitchen appliances and the tv all worked perfectly. The kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes and pots and pans and utensils you'll need. The hot tub was broken the whole time we were there. We had a great time staying here and the location is really treat for going out to the coast and into Florence. It's quiet and peaceful but just a bit run down so if that bothers you, this might not be your place.

Disappointed. Place had a beautiful view, but the place and its amenities were run down.

As a whole we were very disappointed with our experience at Grandpa's Lake House. It has not been kept up for years and really needs a deep cleaning (filth on hand rails, doors and walls). Here is a list of things not available to us during our stay. No water in the hottub (described as an amenity available), back yard unmanaged and over grown, dock unstable (fall hazard) windows filthy, curtain are musty, other people did not pick up poop from their dogs nor did house keeping, coffee filter with old coffee and mold still in it from when? Clock does not work. A drawer in one bathroom and toilet paper holder fell apart, rack in dishwasher when pulled out bottom rack it leans forward and all dishes fall out of rack.rtheiththe spots.

Great rustic Lake house

Fantastic location with great access to the lake, wonderful hot tub, and all the amenities you need for a family weekend at the lake. Lots of board games, children’s toys (though the kids toys could use some cleaning, some were pretty dirty). The house is definitely a well lived-in older lake house, furnishings are well used, so don’t expect brand new or high luxury, but it’s perfect for a family with kids who just want comfortable beds, a great private lake access to play in, and a great hot tub to soak in at the end of a long day. We will definitely be back.

Perfect for making memories.

The view in the morning was majestic. The location on the lake w the private cove and soft sandy beach was great for the kids. The water wasn't too cold. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfy. We plan to make this an annual event.

We were afraid the municipal coded quiet hours of 7 pm to 7 am was going to mean we couldn’t enjoy playing pickleball in the yard before the luxurious 9 pm sunset, but nobody seemed to be bothered by our games. The house is perfect. Kids loved it. We loved it. Great location.

Unfortunate Experience

We unfortunately had a very bad experience. We booked the house expecting a 4 bedroom house. Once we arrived we found one bedroom locked and after pulling some teeth and communication taking a long time, was told that the bedroom and a half bath were out for repairs. This was not communicated to us prior to arrival so people had to sleep on the couch. We received little to no refund for this mishap. The house itself was fairly nice but outdated and could’ve been cleaned more thorough. The garbage can outside was full, smelt awful and garbage was spilled. I appreciated being right by the lake and the house had a lot of kid supplies (toys, baths, high chairs, etc). Overall we were disappointed in our stay.

Beautiful relaxing spot along Woahink lake

Overall, my 4 friends and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Grandpa's Lake House. The house was as described; it was spacious, clean and well stocked. There were memory foam mattresses on all of the beds, which was a welcome change from previous stays elsewhere. The hot tub was clean and well maintained and it was great siting out and watching the ducks on the lake. One important thing to note, in the entryway to the left there is a step down (maybe 3 inches deep) leading to the garage and bathroom/laundry room. The only thing to alert you of step down is a thin yellow strip of tape on floor and if you don't have hall light on you can't see it. Even with the light on it's hard to tell there is a step down and every single one of us didn't realize the step was there and almost fell. On multiple occasions. I was the unfortunate one that heard a pop when I landed and spent the first 36 hours of our trip hardly able to walk, elevating and icing my foot. After that incident we put a bench in front of step with sign to watch step. Luckily nothing was broken and my friends were able to find me a boot for my foot at a thrift store so I could get around some in those first 36 hours. Note to the owner, you should put a sign at eye level warning people to watch their step and also add a thicker yellow caution tape to floor. With that being said, this was a much needed break from our crazy busy lives and we had a wonderful, relaxing time and we will definitely be back.

A little gross

We were a bit shocked upon arrival at the state of unclean. If the outdated and unclean rooms and carpets were not enough it looks like laundry does not get done. Towels, pillows, and duvets are stained, dirty, there were visable unnamed smears on the duvet. There is junk everywhere and you can guarantee things are not moved and cleaned underneath (that wood block in the kitchen? Disgusting). It was hard to sleep. The sheets feel like sandpaper and we had to clean blankets before we felt comfortable using them. Very gross, outdated and junky. The views are great and the hottub is a nice touch. Those are the only remdeeming qualities. The pictures do not tell the whole story. I would skip this place and would never recommend to anyone.

Loved it!

We spent the weekend with family playing board games, watching movies, and enjoying the hot tub. Since this was a winter visit, we did not use the lake, but it would be a fantastic spot in the summer for swimming or launching a kayak. We will definitely be back!
