Communication was outstanding from Vacasa. We had an issue gaining access to the home, but they were quick to respond and have a local representative assist us in obtaining access. The hot tub was not working and they had a maintenance person come out relatively quickly to work on it as well. Location to Gatlinburg is close but plan to go pretty high up into the hills. Perfect if you want that mountain feel.

Quaint and cozy inside. Hot tub was a little questionable so we didnt use it. Best thing was we got to see bears every morning. Make sure to remove all food from your car every night because they do try to get in your vehicles. Also dont feed the bears like the cabin 2 doors down did.

Clean and cozy

The house was clean and cozy. We were here only two nights but loved the house. It was a trek to get to but worth it. The one thing I suggest is to invest in games, cards or puzzles.

Great Potential with a Few Fixable Issues

The Sweet Escape offered exactly what we were looking for in terms of location, privacy, and layout for our long weekend getaway. The home has a lot of charm and could be a truly wonderful retreat with a few improvements. Unfortunately, we encountered some maintenance and cleanliness issues that impacted our stay. Upon arrival, we reported a large hole in the screened porch and a sizable nest, and were assured maintenance would address it the next day—but no one ever showed. As a result, we couldn’t enjoy the screened porch or the hot tub, which was only half full and had an unpleasant odor. There was also a leak from the upstairs shower that caused visible water flow in the downstairs bathroom, and the downstairs mattress lacked a protective cover and had noticeable staining, which detracted from the overall cleanliness. That said, the home has great potential, and if these issues are addressed, we would gladly recommend The Sweet Escape without hesitation. We hope to see these improvements made, as the property truly has a lot to offer.

Honestly was happy with the house upon first glance and everything seemed to be great. The only problems I had was that the hot tub as listed did NOT work and contacted the host and at first they gave me a couple things to try to fix it and said if we couldn’t get it fixed then they would send someone out to fix it. We did all the things they said to try a fix it ourselves and then messaged them back and they then said “it wasn’t part of our amenities.” The other problems we had were the windows were covered with spider webs and Cobweb's and the porch screen was ripped, and the water did not get hot enough. Also the road to get to the house is very very narrow.

Relaxing

We stayed Friday and Saturday night. The Cabin was comfortable and plenty of room. We enjoyed the outdoor firepit and the front porch with the rockers. I hate it for the owners, but there is a major issue with the borer bees. There are no condiments at all, so if you stay be sure to bring some with you. Other than that, it truly was a great weekend get away and very close to the Parkway.

Weekend getaway

We had a great time. It was very clean and smelled great upon arrival. The ease of getting WiFi working, the code to get in, and checkout was very user friendly. The rooms and house were well kept up too. This location was great for a two family get away. The only concerns we had were with the hot tub jets not working, screen broken on the side patio, and the second bedroom not being a true bedroom with a full wall on the loft side and no door on the entrance. It would be great to wall up and put in a door for privacy, in my opinion. Also of some toys or games could be left for families to use would be great. We had such a great time here.

Facility was spot on. Very clean! Cabin is located on top of a mountain with very steep and narrow roads. We had no trouble. But, if it were to freeze I could see an issue.

Cabins fireplace is non functional, and there’s a lady bug infestation in the one downstairs bedroom. Literally crawling out of the ceiling fan and landing on you when you’re sleeping.

The sky view

The house was very pretty! We loved sitting out on the porch in the swing. It was very high up on the mountain with a drive but worth the view at the top. The inside is very clean and comfortable kids would love the bunk beads and stuff they had there to entertain them with. The beds are a little hard and not the best pillows but other than that great place to stay!

Beautiful cabin and the bears were close by!

We stayed October 12-20th 2024 Overall it’s a beautiful cabin in a great location. We had a great experience checking in and out. We met a maintenance guy upon arrival who was very helpful and friendly. We found the cabin to be clean, well stocked with towels, extra toilet paper, mini hand soaps, a roll of paper towels, a few extra trash bags, dishes washer pods, new sponge and dish soap. The kitchen had plenty of pots and pans but only 1 sheet pan. There were no spices (not even salt and pepper). If you plan to cook make sure you bring things you’ll need like a can opener, aluminum foil, etc. We thought the beds were all very comfortable and we slept well. There were no hangers in the house, bring your own. We did find some things in disrepair- the dryer, dishwasher and fire pit were all difficult to use. There was a hot tub that was hot but the jets didn’t move much water (we still used it several times). The WiFi was great and we were easily able to log into our Amazon and YouTube TV accounts to stream tv and movies. We had a bear cub show up in the driveway twice during our stay so that was exciting, but a reminder to keep the car doors and house doors closed at all times because they are curious and will climb on in! The road getting to the house was extremely windy and steep. We drove our mini van and were fine getting there when it was dry BUT we decided to eat dinner every night at the cabin to avoid driving the road in the dark. Coming back one day though, it was starting to rain and it took us several tries to make it up one the hills! If it had been any wetter our van would not have been able to get traction to get back to the cabin. We would definitely stay here again but would drive our SUV!

Parent Get-Away

This cabin was perfect for my husband and I's little getaway! We loved being so secluded and having the woods all around us. We'll definitely be coming back to stay here again!
