Welcome to Overlook Hideaway. Our home is located on a beautiful, quiet ONE WAY street. This is a private, upstairs 2bd/1ba apartment above our home, located in the beautiful neighborhood of Overlook Park. The space is furnished with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay in Portland, including AC/Heating. We are near some amazing restaurants and shops in neighborhoods like Alberta Arts District, Killingsworth Street, St. Johns and Mississippi Avenue. It's a 10 minute drive across the bridge to beautiful downtown Portland and we're also a short 8 minute drive to MODA Center if you're attending any kind of event.
The Overlook Hideaway is a lovely retreat located very close to town and yet with the feeling of being a quiet sanctuary. The cookware was abundant and I was able to prepare my family's favorite foods to take to our Thanksgiving gathering. The gas oven roasted the best Brussels sprouts ever! Jim and Stephanie are the best hosts, extremely responsive to every question within minutes. We felt at-home and cared for by our hosts. The decor is pleasing and the towels and sheets are soft and cozy. We look forward to returning to the Hideaway another time!
Check-in was easy and the hosts are extremly friendly and responsive and really go out of their way to accommodate. The two bedroom apartment is big and comfortable and even has a great deck and outdoor table.
It was very clean and exactly what the photos show. My sister and I felt very safe staying in this home by ourselves, especially since it was our first time to Portland. I recommend this home if you're looking to stay in Portland!
Details details details. These two have thoughtfully curated a spectacular little spot. A perfect location with a gorgeous view, close to all our favorite things. Little things you don't remember to pack? They have it. We just kept saying to each other, worth it! All weekend. Thank you for the great stay.
This property is located in a residential neighborhood that overlooks a shipyard, railway, and river. We loved the view which in addition also includes some of Portlandâs bridges. There is a large park on one side and a community house on the other. The property is set up very thoughtfully with your needs anticipated. Most of what you require will be available. Really appreciated the lighting outside leading into the unit. The deck has a nice area to eat, lounge, or work. Overall itâs set up to make you feel welcome and in a home.
Excellent spot! Neighborhood was very walkable and close to great food choices on Mississippi. great access to yellow line train, so easy to get around. View from the balcony was wonderful. Fully stocked kitchen with anything you might need. It was perfect for us!
Came for just a few short days in Portland for a wedding and this home is perfect! Two large bedrooms, with comfy beds, and the colors and decor are so cute! Definitely a cute and simple vibe, with everything you need: coffee, clean towels and great communication and direction from the hosts! I even left a necklace behind and the host reached out to send it to me - so sweet! Definitely worth the stay!!
the place was very cozy and comfortable. i really enjoy the patio among the trees as we sat there throuhg out the day, the apartment was nicely set up with all amenities that needed i even had a floor mat to do my morning stretches:) thank you !
Great place for my wife and I to stay with our adult daughter on a visit. Had everything we needed including a private yard to hide our bikes. Nice neighborhood. Plenty of food and attractions nearby.
This serene second-floor apartment feels like a hidden treehouseâquiet, sunlit, and surrounded by lush plant life. Thoughtfully designed and beautifully kept, it offered cozy beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of space to unpack and unwind. Mornings on the private deck were a dream. The neighborhood is safe, walkable, and full of calm. A nourishing, peaceful retreat.
This is a beautiful space in a lovely neighborhood. Well appointed and comfortable. The only negative is that you have to go up two flights of stairs and across gravel to get into the unit. There were pictures of both the stairs and gravel, but I certainly didnât understand that Iâd be dragging luggage up outside stairs.
Great stay at the Overlook house. It had all the amenities needed (especially enough coffee for the week!). We didn't cook but there were plenty of dishes for coffee and leftovers. This is a spacious two-bedroom great for a friends trip. Bed was very comfortable, lots of drawers and hangers for clothes. Thoroughly enjoyed the small balcony off the green room for the view and to check out the weather before heading out for the day. Great water pressure in shower and lots of towels hooks. Living room is comfy for winding down at the end of the night, extra blankets are a nice touch. Washer/dryer came in handy towards the end of the trip. Apartment is on the second level so there are wooden deck stairs to the front door, generally fine but less fun when it was raining on our check-in/out days! Most restaurants/shops are a 15 minute walk on the other side of the interstate, but the Yellow Max line was a short few minute walk to get over to the westside. Beautiful neighborhood, great value and I would definitely stay again.
Super convenient to all major interstates, public transportation and points of interest. Comfortable beds and living areas. Safe, adorable neighborhood and the view is superb. Great stay!
Three adult family members stayed here because there just was not much available in that area of Portland. It was a great choice. Clean, well accessorized and truly great beds. Owner was responsive and helpful. Check in and check out was a breeze. Wonderful Portland neighborhood at Overlook Park with views of the river and Barnes Heights.
My wife, Stephanie, and I live in Huntington Beach, California. We enjoy traveling, spending time with our friends and family and try to enjoy life to the fullest. We have 3 adult children and 2 adorable little dogs.
This is a private, upstairs 2bd/1ba apt. that sleeps 4, located in the beautiful neighborhood of Overlook Park. The space is furnished with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay in Portland. We are near some amazing restaurants and shops in neighborhoods like Alberta Arts District, Killingsworth Street, St. Johns and Mississippi Avenue.
Overlook park is the perfect walking neighborhood, day or night and we're just a short walk from The Bluffs where you can take some snacks and drinks to go watch the sunset.
BRING AN UMBRELLA IF IT'S DURING RAINY SEASON, although we do have some in the unit to borrow
