Our cozy bungalow is nestled in-between Peninsula Park and the great restaurants, shops and bars of North Williams, Mississippi Avenue and the Alberta Arts district. Our quaint home is light and airy with large windows and an open floor plan feel. The master bedroom has a king size memory foam mattress while the guest room has a queen mattress. We have a twin air mattress for an extra guest. There is one bathroom with a full tub and shower. We have a covered porch with Adirondack chairs that are perfect for sipping your morning coffee. We are within a few blocks of the beautiful Peninsula Park rose garden and playground. We allow pets on a case by case basis. Washer and dryer and basement for storage are available to guests.
This was a very fun place to stay. It has tons of personality and really made you get the feel of living in Portland. I would recommend this place for children 6 or older as there are antique items and things young kids would love to get into. The hosts were great at communicating and everything went very smoothly. Thank you!
My friends and i absolutely loved staying at this house. It was truly perfect. Aesthetically beautiful, well decorated, and felt like home. Has a big kitchen where we really enjoyed cooking and was stocked with all the necessities. I would definitely stay here again! The location was great too! Was a Quiet street near cute shops & dining establishments.
The house is a beautiful turn of the century bungalow in an incredible neighborhood. It was within a short drive or even walking distance to some great restaurants. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely return!
This location was so cozy and comfy and made for a really nice early holiday for our little family. The area was safe and walkable to stores and restaurants and the host was very easy to communicate with. Our family would stay again when in the area.
The house was immaculate, so charming and warm. It has a beautiful and well stocked kitchen. The front yard had plenty of outdoor space to hang out in and itâs a walkable neighborhood with plenty of street parking. Weâd definitely come back, as this home has a lot to offer!
I loved the look and feel of this home. I wanted to stay longer! The beds were comfortable. It had all the necessary amenities. The one unfortunate downside was that the basement smelled like cat pee.
This house is very sweet. It definitely feels like staying in someoneâs home rather than a commercial short term rental. There are homey touches, like having spices and oil available. There were also details that seemed like unexpected oversights- no coffee, no liners in the trash cans, no water in the water dispenser, no firewood, no washcloths. It was a comfy spot and Iâd stay there again, but these little things could really make it a five star stay.
We stayed at Portland Escape for a long-term (3-month) rental, during a time when our Portland-based house was being remodeled.
The positives... the location is great (walking distance to Killingsworth restaurants & bars and Peninsula Park), at the same time it is a nice & quiet neighborhood, the main king bed is very comfortable, wifi is solid, large capacity washer & dryer is available and worked well, and the house has more than enough room for a long-term stay.
The downsides... privacy is lacking as the house has big front windows with minimal window coverings, the living room furniture is not particularly comfortable (particularly the couch), there were a few key items that are lacking in the kitchen (only two towels, no microwave), the refrigerator is on the small side (fine for a short-term stay, but limited for a longer stay) and we had some recurring issues with ants throughout the stay (though the owners were very communicative & responsive to address this).
Overall, we had a good stay... and it was a great value. Would recommend for short-term stays. It was solid for longer stays, though a few improvements would have made it much more comfortable.
We love traveling, and when we do we are so appreciative to find like minded folks who share their homes with us so it truly feels like a home away from home when we are away. We have animals that we travel with and also like to welcome furry friends to our home since we know how hard it can be to find a good place to land with dogs. (Sadly cats are no longer allowed in our home.)
We Iove that we live close to the Alberta Arts, Mississippi, and Vancouver districts, each one filled with amazing food and shops but we are just far enough away to feel like you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are blocks away from the beautiful Peninsula Park and if youâre lucky enough to visit when the rose garden is in bloom you are in for a treat!
