Fabulous Rodanthe oceanfront Just Breathe is special. From the moment your car turns from the ocean onto Sea Haven Dr., you'll know you have chosen a true beach house. Upon arrival, walk over the dune to survey your long stretch of empty beach where you can fish, surf, sun, or just walk along the surf during your vacation. Just Breathe has good parking, an under-home entry, an outside shower, a fish-cleaning station, and a gas grill. The first floor has a game room with laminate floors, a pool table, a wet bar, a fridge, a microwave, an LCD TV, surround sound, and access to the deck with a hot tub and beach access. Next door is a bonus room with a pyramid bunk bed. There is also a laundry room with 2 washer and dryers, so you can pack light.

Upstairs, the Just Breathe great room has wide-open ceilings and one-of-a-kind ocean views from every window. The newly remodeled kitchen has a breakfast island with seating, a dishwasher, and a double-door fridge. The primary bedroom features a remodeled bathroom with an electric fireplace and a TV. The den boasts half-story high windows, making it an excellent place for reading or playing games at the game table. The well-furnished sundecks have guests waiting in line for this vacation rental. Just Breathe is waiting to make your next vacation one you'll remember for years.

Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details about this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.

Great week at the beach!

The house could have been cleaned a little better upon arrival and the hot tub was never cleaned the entire week but other than that we loved this house!! The bedrooms are awesome, beds very comfy! Lots of cookware and dishes to use in the kitchen. And the location was the best! It was like we had our own private beach! Would def stay there again!

Great location! House needs a little bit of maintenance

Beautiful views overlooking the beach. The location cannot be beat. You can look right down onto the surfers and everyone on the beach. Great private spot!

Peaceful

The house and location was absolutely incredible. It was spacious and met all our expectations. The house was very clean , your cleaning team does an excellent job. That is why I will give it a 5 !! However, the owners need to have the upholstered furniture and carpets professionally cleaned. I have booked through other management companies, but find Vacasa to provide the best services. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Misleading

The velvet on the pool table was messed up so couldn't shoot pool. The hot tub was closed and we weren't able to use it but got charged a cleaning fee. The steps on the outside, leading up to the 2nd floor is about to fall apart.

Great location, bad house.

Upon arrival the trash cans were fully filled, probably from the last tenants. On trash day I called Vacasa to clarify the trash situation and where we should place the cans. The only direction we were given was to "place them on the curb", yet Sea Haven was ~1/4 mile from route 12 and the trash cans did not have wheels. Previous reviews stated the trash should be left in front of the property and Vacasa would come pick them up. They never came. The house was dirty when we arrived - dog hair and a urine smell that was covered up with lots of air freshener. The hot tub had dead skin in it, only one side of the grill worked, the first floor sink and toilet were either not draining or not flushing. The bathroom in the main bedroom would not shut or lock. Maintenance came twice without warning to fix the sink but there was no solution. It really sucks because the location is great but I wouldn't recommend staying in this house.

Dirty and Unsafe - Consider another house with better reviews

I rented this house with the expectation that it would be clean and safe. On the surface tables were clean, bathrooms wiped down, fresh linens (towels and sheets) provided and the floors were pretty clean, the hot tub was spotless. However, once you look in the pantry, through the kitchen drawers, look up at the ceiling fans/ bath fans, look at pillows on the sofas or sit on the living room furniture and feel its tackiness etc you see and feel how dirty/dusty the house is. There are random stains on various walls throughout the house, the baseboards are covered in dirt, and if you sleep in the bed with bunkbeds and look up you will see all the stains on the mattress. There were water bugs (look similar to cockroaches) that pop up in the bathrooms from time to time and the grills (2 of them) are absolutely disgusting. Vacasa did offer to come to the house to clean it again. From a safety standpoint, the bedroom on the second floor with a private balcony had one railing that was extremely loose. By the luck of god, my husband was the first to go out (and not my toddlers) and see the serious problem. If he would have leaned against this railing he would have fallen 20 ft and it would have been catastrophic. Vacasa addressed this issue immediately; however, it shouldn't have been one in the first place. On the top floor deck there are some loose balusters, mostly a concern for young children. Lightbulbs for outside were burnt out. Vacasa did address this issue. Lastly, an outlet in the same bedroom as the one with the balcony issue started to sizzle when we put a plug in it. It burnt the ends of the plug. Vacasa came to replace this outlet and told us the house was safe to be in for the remainder of our trip. If we dealt with a private owner who outsourced a reality company I believe many of these issues would have been prevented. Even though it was very frustrating to have one problem after another, Vacasa did address each issue quickly and we were reimbursed for the cleaning fee. Vacasas immediate responses over and over again is why I am giving them 2 stars. While I will never use Vacasa again for a vacation we did make the best of the trip and my children have good memories from the experience.

Just Breathe

The location of the house was fantastic. It was so nice to walk out and be right on the beach. The home itself needs a lot of routine maintenance. Two outside handles are missing from two sliding doors. Several lightbulbs are out on the outside, including the spotlights along the side where you park, and the bathtubs/sinks are slow to drain. The main bath on the third floor was the worst- standing in 3-4 inches in standing water while showering. Husband poured Draino into the drain which helped tremendously but noticed the cause was mostly sand. Overall, we had a wonderful time.

Can't wait for next year!

This house is PERFECT! I will admit that base upon other reviews that were not so good, I was very nervous that I would find the house filthy and in shambles so I brought a ton of cleaning supplies and my own vacuum. What I found was the complete opposite. The house was just perfect, I didn't need to clean a thing and it smelled very clean. This house cannot be in a better location. It is basically on the end of a row of homes so you feel as though you are on a private beach. The road to the home is only shared by one other house so it really is very private. The walk to the beach can't be easier as there is only one very small dune to walk over. Upon entering the middle floor you are surrounded by windows with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The house is so close to the water that you feel like you are on the beach. All of the beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious and there are 3 full size refrigerators! We spent full days on the beach and the evenings enjoying each others company playing cards. I ensured that I cleaned the house before we left and I used my vacuum to pull out the sand that we inevitably tracked in throughout the week. I hope that I was able to provide the cleaning crew with a leg up on the hard work that they do each week for however many homes that they service. They do an excellent job and I give them kudos. One thing to note for future renters that we didn't pick up on. This house is not serviced by the island trash company. Instead a person hired by Vacasa drives around in a truck and picks up the trash. So when you read that you need to take the trash cans to the curb on Tuesday's and Friday's, you do not. I have already rented this house for next year and I cannot wait to go. Enjoy your visit!

Cleanliness was disappointing

We should have paid more attention to the June 2021 review about being dirty because his review was spot on. The place hasn’t had a real cleaning in quite sometime. Lots of maintenance issues: dirty air filter, more dirt on the ceiling fans than I’ve ever seen, hot tub only had one set of jets that worked, had to call for help because the deadbolt on the lock was so worn that we couldn’t get the dirt open to enter the place. I could go on and on, but the cleaning and maintenance program for this place needs a lot of improvement. Very disappointed because this is simply a matter of taking care of the details.

The location is great - almost a private beach. The weekly cleaners can only do so much in 1 day. A deep cleaning should be scheduled....dusting, cleaning under furniture (food and wrappers found), the drains need to be cleared (only one tub drained properly - I know people are bad about rinsing in the inside shower rather than the outside), It rained a lot when we were there. door mats inside and outside all doors would have prevented water and sand from being tracked in.

Great Location. Filthy Home

The positives: Great location. Awesome Beach. Plenty of parking. The bad: House was filthy. Hair and urine on the stools. Flooring was never swept -- covered in hair and dirt on the top floor (living area/kitchen/dining room). Smashed bugs on several walls. I don't mind the wear and tear and stains from a well used home, but this place was dirty. Physically dirty. We are NOT picky or fussy people (we're farmers from Indiana), but I've never stayed in a dive hotel this dirty. Like I said, the home is well used -- so expect things like chipped paint, stained counter tops, dirty carpet, etc. But the place was NOT clean. Only 2 of the 4 bedroom had blankets. Half of our guests covered up with beach towels in their bed at night. I didn't want to complain (I organized the trip for my Mom and her sisters and friends, and was there as well). There was no fixing the problem unless we vacated and disturbed our stay. So we just decided to lived with it. But honestly, it's a great location, but it was like we were staying at a flea bag motel on the beach.

Love the beach

This home is nicely placed behind a dune with panoramic views of the ocean. If you like the beach it is one house to consider. Nicely priced for what you get.

A wonderful week spent in Rodanthe!

The house was great. We had plenty of space for the six of us. Kitchen was excellent with everything working as it should. Views from the decks were breath-taking. Only issue we had was that there weren't enough towels for each bathroom, and that there were no bedspreads on any of the beds. Would definitely rent this house again! The location is one of the best that Rodanthe has to offer!

Pure Communication with the forces of nature but house needs TLC

Needs help. Superficial cleaninng was adequate but deep cleaning absent. Attention to preventive maintenance not apparent and many smaller issues need repair. The devices were complicated (TV, WiFi, phone ) with no instructions to assist visiter. Had to ask for a blanket because there were none for our use. There were damp bed spreads in the dryer and were told to put them on top of the washer. Once dryer was removed a bed bug appreared and it was killed producing blood.The check-n process was disasterous. I was given the wrong address and I did not have the code to get in. An envelope with address, directions and code were to be left beside the door at Hateras realty. This didn't happen. Luckily an employee was still working at 8PM on a Sunday night and could assist us. Obviously, there were some gross errors made here and these were not due to the pandemic. We remained calm and patient as we were expected to be. We are uncertain whether or not we will ever use Verbo again. We most certainly will not chose to work with Hatteras again.

Very dirty!!! House itself was beautiful but everything was filthy!!!

Again the house was very dirty, ended up cleaning it ourselves even after 2 crews came out to clean. Also the bedspreads/beds were dirty. We had to wash the bedding ourselves. The place was never vacuumed so we did that ourselves but we had to fix the vacuum first. Dishes and flatware needed to be washed before use. Bugs in the pantry, had to spray for them. Didn’t feel safe -people walked in and we weren’t there and we walked in on them in the house! How many people have the code to the door?! The house is beautiful and great location but someone shouldn’t have to spend their time cleaning - especially for the amount of money that was paid for the rental!

"Just Breathe"

Outstanding experience ! Location was great, the beach in front of the house was never occupied - it was like private property, ha-ha. The house is FULLY equipped with anything one could need. Only one complaint: the pool table is not level and this makes soft, slow shots curve balls :o)

Location Location Location but dirty and lacks maintenance

We got this for our family of 4 for a discount since it was short notice, but for $4500 we did not expect to have to clean on arrival. Sand, candy wrappers, cheese, candy, cheese and cracker packages and even a pill in the floor! Floors were sticky upstairs. Luckily we found brooms and mops but no vacuum. In addition, the home theatre sound system didn't work in the two most important rooms, the upstairs living room and the pool room. Lights were out in the kitchen, lamps were broken. Just looked like the owner hadn't been around recently. When we arrived there were three spoons! Someone delivered 10, and a lighter to light the gas grill which was so dirty we spent 1.5 hours cleaning it so we could use it. There were no night lights, so you just have to waste electricity so you can see anything or if kids get up. Now, the great parts. The house is huge, and right on the beach with incredible views from throughout. The decks were fantastic but there were not many chairs and one was cracked. The impact of the views and location so close to the beach is overwhelming. This house has incredible potential by fixing a few things, adding a tv larger than 32"s and a real cleaning, not the kind you do in 2 hours. Oh, the pyramid bed isn't usable until the ladder is rebraced with doublers. And the door to that kid room didn't lock. The total Hatteras Realty charges isn't what it says on Homeaway, it comes out about $20 plus 29 more for credit card fee. With all this I would still rent it again but plan on bring a vacuum and cleaning first. Also my own home theatre receiver.
