Betty's Blue is the newest addition to Lavender Hill Farm. It's a 12 x 16 studio, situated in the lavender field, with sunrise, mountain and water views. Betty's Blue is named for a small bright blue lavender - one of twenty varieties that grow on the property. The studio has a full Duxiana bed, Summit kitchenette, bath with stall shower and top-of-the-line incinerating toilet, tile and Pergo flooring, radiant heat, fast wifi, TV, Alexa. Perfect for one or two guests.
Intimate tiny home within a lavender garden. Exceptional views of the Quartermaster Harbor. Walking distance to beach and a grocery store. Friendly and helpful host.
We loved our stay at Bettyâs Blue. The property had incredible views, modern amenities, and lots of charm. The bed was extremely comfortable, too. Our host, Cathy, was welcoming and easy to communicate with. Hope to visit again when the lavender is in bloom. Overall, great experience!
I really enjoyed my stay. It was quiet and comforting. It rained the day I arrived and being someone who loves the rain, I just sat with the door open listening to the rain, the birds and enjoying the view. I was impressed with the toilet never seen one of those before. The cottage is sweet and comfortable, very homey! This visit was planned for over a year, and I didnt want to plan everything out, I just went with what I felt like doing at that time, but next time I will use the Vashon Guide more. The shops were nice and knew Cathy. I cant wait to return!
Perfect, quiet, and relaxing stay at Lavender Hill
I can wholeheartedly recommend Lavender Hill for the perfect escape. For comfort, beauty, and relaxation I canât imagine a more perfect location. And, Cathy is the epitome of a super-host. She even provided towels and dog bowls for my pet. The entire island is very pet friendly too.
We had the most amazing stay at the lavender farm! Cathy is kind and thoughtful, making sure every aspect of my visit was enjoyable. The privacy provided was perfect for a peaceful getaway.
The beds, linens, and pillows were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The kitchenette is convenient and efficient, and the fridge was great for storing snacks and drinks.
We loved the large deck for outdoor dining and sipping coffee in the morning. The stunning views of the wonderfully scented lavender field and the inner harbor made this a magical experience.
The location was also ideal, just blocks away from Burton Coffee and a grocery store, making it convenient to stock up on essentials. Being on the bus line makes it easy to explore the area without a car. And for those arriving by ferry with a car, the farm was easy to get to.
The neighborhood was remarkably quiet and is located just three blocks from the outer harbor for long walks and shell searching.
Nearby Vashon town is cute and offers lots of great places to eat and shop. Vashon Island has so much to offer and staying at Lavender Hill gives you plenty of opportunity to explore the local wineries as well.
My husband and I felt pampered and refreshed after our week's stay in the lovely studio. We appreciated the serenity and the privacy. Enjoying meals with open views of the harbor and marina was particularly soothing. Cathy is a wonderful hostess, both kind and helpful. She made us feel at home. I have been recommending Betty's Blue to all our friends! MERCI BEAUCOUP, Catherine. P & J
In need of additional lodging for the Thanksgiving long weekend, we rented this lovely cottage located on the lavender field on Vashon Island. With idyllic views of Quatermaster Harbor, this cozy cottage is thoughtfully decorated and well appointed and was the perfect place. Catherine was welcoming as she gave a tour of the lavender fields and the cottage itself. Nice location with easy access to shopping, groceries and coffee ! Weâll definitely rent again!
We had a wonderful stay! The studio was perfect. Cathy was a lovely and gracious host who pays attention to every detail. The accommodations were so comfortable and well thought out. The property is beautiful. We had a relaxing stay and we will definitely be back.
This tiny home is nicely appointed, decorated, and arranged. It is located in a beautiful setting with a wonderful view of Quartermaster Harbor. The owner, Catherine, lives on the property and is a very attentive host.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The views from the property are lovely and it smells really nice being on a lavender farm. It is a compact space but has everything you need. In fact, we cooked most of our meals there. The incinerating toilet is interesting - definitely get a tutorial on how to use it from Cathy - but once we got used to it, we found it worked great. There is lot of natural beauty to enjoy on Vashon Island. Mostly we found our stay here very *relaxing* which was what we were hoping for. Recommended!
This place was magical! The garden, the view and the little place was AMAZING. I cannot wait to come back. It was the perfect size for one, cozy and perfectly decorated⊠everything was clean and functional. The host was beyond helpful and kind. Highly recommend.
Great location in Burton within walking distance of the store and coffee shop, beautiful views across the bay and of the morning sunrise. Property was neat and tidy, had everything we needed
Cozy room with view of harbor and lavender fields.
We loved this cozy comfortable room. It was supplied with everything we needed. We enjoyed each late afternoon and evenings taking in the views of the bay and relaxing lavender field. Thank you Catherine and to her staff for making our stay memorable! Canât wait to come again!
Hi! I'm Cathy MacNeal and I have owned and run Lavender Hill Farm for 15 years. We have over 800 lavender plants and 20 varieties on 3/4 acre on Vashon Island. My career has been as an actor on TV, films and stage (you can IMDB me - Catherine MacNeal); my love of lavender led me here. Born in New York City, I have lived in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Berkeley and now the Pacific Northwest. Parent to 4 grown( ish) kids including two lawyers, a teacher and a college student. I was cofounder and board member of Cambodia Tomorrow, which provided education and basic needs to orphanage children there; I have worked as a celebrity personal assistant and administrative partner and producer. How did I end up on a farm in Puget Sound? Many wonder. My love of lavender and France and the fabulous view and farmhouse, the arts community here and proximity to an airport al played a big part. Last year I made this my full-time home and built Betty's Blue as a place to stay when the farmhouse is rented and as a rental when I'm in the farmhouse.
Vashon and Lavender Hill Farm are special places - garden, water, view of Mount Rainier. Enough space to have privacy and a quick walk to find community - Burton Coffee, Harbor Mercantile (the general store), the Burton Inn (spa services), a beach to stroll on, woods to hike through, kayak and SUP rentals, boat mooring within walking distance. Eagles, herons, pileated woodpeckers. Cool neighbors, lots of music, performing arts, great food.
A stay in Betty's Blue is a respite from city life, crowds, chaos. Come with your partner for some quiet time, finish your manuscript, enjoy a pied-ĂĄ-terre while you check out the real estate market, visit friends, attend a wedding or binge watch your favorite series. Excellent wifi and Hulu Live, Amazon Prime and Netflix await. There are lots of takeout restaurant options and your kitchenette is great for cooking or reheating. microwave or toaster oven provided on request. Wake up to the sunrise or pull down the shades. Privacy and calm await you.
