This is such a great space and location. We loved sitting on both the main and upper floor decks amongst the forest of trees. And, nothing like a walk down the trail to access the beach. We enjoyed the ourselves!
I loved the treehouse! Wonderfully relaxing and quiet. Most days I sat in the yard and read until the tide came in a bit then threw a ball for the pup. Great quiet bay for paddle boarding. Jean-David responded to my questions within just a few minutes. I enjoyed my stay and hope to come back soon.
The Treehouse is beautiful, secluded, well appointed, and exotic (an actual treehouse!). We enjoyed it thoroughly and felt we were in a fairy tale. The beds and couches are comfortable; the view of the water through the massive evergreens is magical; the games and DVD selection are great; the kitchen is well designed for cooking and eating; the decks are delightful; the beach and firepit are private. People with small children or balance or mobility challenges should know that the property has steep steps, uneven ground (especially on the steep path down to the beach), and separate entrances for the two levels of the living space, joined by an unprotected outdoor staircase (which could use better lighting). The clawfoot tub/shower is nice and laundry machines are great; be aware that you'll be using a composting toilet. This is a very special place--highly recommended.
We took our three young grandkids on a 4-day trip to the treehouse. The accommodations and location made for a terrific, and slightly rustic experience. The outdoor area, with expansive pebble beach, an orchard, and wooded area were magical for the kids, with lots of room to run and explore, as they searched for pirates any treasure left behind. The treehouse with its three levels made for fun times when we encountered a rainy day. The kids loved sleeping in the loft. You do have to go outside across a short area from the bedrooms into the bathhouse if you have to go to the bathroom during the night. The kitchen was well stocked, the furnishings were comfortable, and there was plenty of bedding. In all, the place is cozy and inviting. The host was responsive and helpful and check-in was easy. Weâre likely to book it again next year.
What a relaxing stay! We loved the quiet and privacy of their treehouse! Everything we needed was there to make our meals There was even wonderful whole bean coffee and a grinder! There are books, puzzles, and a trivia game we enjoyed. It was a wonderful week spent with family! My adult son did choose to sleep on the couch rather than use the loft since the ceiling was very low.
We had such a fabulous time last year that we returned for another stay. This place is magical. The place itself, the views, the island - everything. Can't recommend it highly enough!
This place is truly unique! We stayed over the holiday break and enjoyed the phenomenal views, the gorgeous beach and the quiet island lifestyle. Hope to visit again!
Location was perfect. The tree house was charming, with a great little beach front area. Well stocked kitchen, loads of pillows and blankets, and plenty of space. If you are arriving at night, you will need a flashlight and a sense of adventure as there is no signage and it is a bit of a walk from parking. The sleeping accommodations didn't end up being ideal for a girls get-a-way (main bed was good but an adult can't stand up in the loft and the futon was uncomfortable) however several of my friends plan to go back with their families. Highly recommend for those with children! Thank you for a fun weekend!
Very relaxing location. Kitchen and rooms were well stocked with supplies and extra linens. Our dog is older and needed to be carried down steps to the main house but no problem because sheâs small. We would stay here again!
Truly lovely, quiet spot. Host very responsive. I've never used a composting toilet before, but had no problems. However, it was a little disconcerting to have to go outside (very brief walk to the bath house) to use the restroom in the middle of the night.
Thanks for a wonderful stay!
We celebrated my sonâs 40th birthday at the tree house. There were many places for us to spread out and we were drawn to the outside with the beautiful weather. It was a memorable family gathering. Thanks for sharing your place with our family.
Overall this was a very enjoyable stay. The property was situated on a private plot with beach access down a hill. Very serene. Loved how quiet it was, and we never saw or heard the neighbors. We didnât have great luck with the weather to truly enjoy the beach or bbq, unfortunately, so that was the only bad part. But our dog absolutely loved exploring the beach regardless. Our arrival was a bit confusing, because the house number sign had fallen over, so we at first werenât sure we were at the right place! Luckily the owner was very accessible via the app. Few tips: Definitely bring slip-on shoes with you as you have to go outside to move between the different levels and the bathroom, which takes some getting used to. Also, there is a chunk of concrete in the parking area that sticks up and could possibly damage cars if you donât notice it (luckily we did). If youâre sensitive to smells, the composting toilet may not be for you. But it wasnât that bad for everything else you get in return.
Beautiful property overlooking water. It consists of multiple levels with different rooms. Main area has a comfortable tv room. The kitchen is completely functional and very cute!
You go outside and up steps to get to the bedroom and loft area. All the beds were very comfortable! The compost toilet took a little to get used to, understandable for a house in the trees.
We stayed at the treehouse for our last few days of spring break. This is such a special property. The weather was great, so we spent a lot of time at the beach. Would definitely recommend!
This is our second time staying at The Treehouse! Our daughter came home to Seattle from college in San Diego and wanted a PNW weekend and we thought Vashon was the perfect choice. She wanted the rain and clouds and we had a blast down by the fire pit by the sound and cooked salmon (and popped popcorn!) on the grill.
I love this place because it stirs the creative inside and gently encourages to unplug.
Thanks so much for making it a memorable weekend!
We stayed for 2 nights in February. Weâre a family of 4 (2 boys ages 5 & 8). The boys loved the loft sleeping quarters. The ladder leading up the loft was very sturdy and easy for my boys to go up/down. The beds upstairs are secured into the floor, so itâs quite safe up there. There were even some toys up there for some quiet evening activity. The queen size bed was comfortable and had extra pillows. The kitchen had ample cooking supplies. Only thing it lacked was a baking sheet, but we used the large baking dishes and it worked fine. Kitchen has a full size fridge and freezer. It literally has everything you might need to cook. We used the canoe and went fishing but we didnât see any fish. It was still fun to get out on the water, especially since the weather cooperated for a weekend. Owner has several sizes of life jackets, which worked great. The beach was wonderful. Full of rocks, but thatâs what my boys loved about it. We also brought firewood and used the lovely bonfire. There are plenty of posts about the toilet situation. It didnât bother us. My boys had to be taught how to use it (you HAVE to sit). But after that, they did fine. Going between the different levels was actually great. My husband and I had a totally quiet area to relax in at night while the boys were asleep in the sleeping quarters. The decor was lovely and welcoming. Plenty of lamps for nice light. We loved it! Would return for sure.
We had a wonderful relaxing time at the treehouse. We came to get away from city life and it was quiet and peaceful. It had a great view of the water, tucked right up in the evergreens! We will be back again!
We live across the road from this property and are happy to help! We are a family with two young kids and chose Vashon Island for the seclusion, quality of life, and the amazing community, including schools. We are Seattle-Vashon footferry commuters and can attest to the fact that it is the best commute in the area, if not in the US. This is a perfect place to call home for the weekend, week, or longer!
