Very fun place - a studio in a barn. Cozy, comfortable, well-equipped, lovely landscaping, quiet, with an adorable small pony. And, dog-friendly too. Perfect for my short stay on Vashon.
The property is tranquil, beautifully tamed wilderness. I saw deer, a bald eagle, a piliated woodpecker, and a squirl. The beach was so privat and tranquil. I will deffinately be back
Comfortable studio nicely arranged, feels spacious not cramped. Technically it's on Maury Is, but you're not far from anywhere on Vashon. I'd gladly stay here again and will recommend the studio to friends.
Surrounding acreage was beautiful as was the entire island. Hosts were accommodating if somewhat Iâll-prepared (unit was not cleaned, bed not made, lock code wouldnât work).
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The studio is cozy and it's fun having horses for neigh-bors.
We loved walking through the woods to a very private beach and enjoyed the many birds, including a huge bald eagle and herons.
It was such a delightful spot - All I needed for a weekend away in nature. It offered access to a private trail to the beach, which my pup and I took a couple times each day. The studio was clean, very comfortable, and relaxing, with birds, a horse, and a pony right outside the window. Thank you! I hope to be back.
My husband and I had a delightful surprise when we rounded the corner and encountered a large two-story barn with a beautiful white horse and mini pony waiting for us. Our one-night stay was enhanced by the wonderful old west antiques inside and pot belly stove with wood waiting to be lit. The bed was comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and shower nice and warm. We highly recommend the Wildwood studio for its charm and comfort. Jan and Bill
Over all the experience was good, but the communication and how to get on the property were poor. The way is shows on Google maps is not very accurate and took us a while to locate the entrance because itâs not labeled. The place was cute and quaint, but there was an ant problem because they were everywhere. Youâre staying basically in a barn and right next door to some horses. So if you donât know that before the horses can kind of spook you. Thereâs also no tv just fyi,
itâs shared with some kind of event service and they were there before our check out time. Overall Itâs a beautiful property, but just not what my wife and I were looking for.
Nice setting but with horses right next to the entrance flys come in. A fly swatter was missing. There is no TV which we were surprised about. The bed fitted bottom sheet was ripped and didnât seem clean. Two of the pillow cases were inside out and had hair on them. The bathroom counter had hair on it. The studio should be heated before people arrive.
A screen at the front door would help with flies. Directions mentioning mailboxes were confusing. Just say: from West Point Robinson Road turn right on 43rd Ave SW, watch for the number 4207 on the left and turn left there. It is easy to find. It would be good to have a card for guests to fill out for you in the rental - How did you like your stay?
The property is stunning. Very beautiful. The barn is a wonderful structure and the small unit is charming. We enjoyed the surroundings and the beautiful landscaping including the amazing rhododendrons all in glorious bloom. Our doggie loved it there too.
The only big problem is finding the property. There needs to be a unique sign or something like that at the mail boxes on the street. We drove by it several times before we took a chance to drive in the driveway, We were lucky enough to meet the father of the women who rents out the property. He was absolutely charming and helped us get into the unit. We had called the women when we were lost and she did not get back to us, so thank goodness we met him.
She gives quite detailed instructions, but sometimes too much information can be quite confusing. It would make it so much easier to put a little sign or something like that at the mailboxes and instruct the visiter to look for that.
Otherwise, it was very relaxing, clean and quiet.
This cozy studio is on gorgeous property. Two feeders outside the windows attracted more kinds of birds than we ever spot in the city. Our dog saw her first horses and seemed to be impressed. The beach was a short walk away, and the views across the water to Mt. Rainier were exceptional. We loved the quiet at the studio and the easy access to interesting parks and wonderful views.
The apartment was clean and rustic. The decor was quirky and on theme for the property. The bathroom sink was a little small and angled so made washing up a bit difficult. The mattress has a thick foam topper - something to be aware of if you run hot. Really clean and beautiful property. Very close to lighthouse and Damboâs Troll - Oscar the Bird King.
I was looking for a peaceful weekend getaway and I found it! I loved having a fire in the wood stove and a morning walk to the beach where I was greeted by a Bald Eagle and deer tracks in the sand.
I love eating out on Vashon, but the kitchen is very well equipped if you want to prepare your own meals.
Didnât make it to the lighthouse this time, but itâs definitely within walking distance.
My husband and I felt very comfortable in this rustic studio. It was cozy and warm-just right for a rainy day on the island. We were able to walk down to the beach and the lighthouse. Bed was comfortable and kitchen provided us a way to settle in, heat up some soup, and enjoy the animals and the birds.
The southern exposure with 1000' of waterfront, large pond, and 40 acres of land was purchased by our family in the the mid-1980s. The property is home to deer, eagles, otter, numerous species of birds and waterfowl. We have carefully preserved the native landscape and love sharing this gorgeous place with the visitors we host. Our horses graze in the pasture, and we ride through the trails and on the beach. Horses graze in the pasture right outside the studio. Free range chickens and ducks roam about.
There are walking trails, a gorgeous private beach, and a spectacular view of Mt. Rainier from the bluff, a short walk from the studio. The property is very private and quiet, and the beach is fabulous. It is a 7 minute walk to the lighthouse at Pt. Robinson. The Maury Island Marine Park is about 20 minutes to the west along the pristine, relatively deserted beach. You can walk the trails on the property, walk a few minutes to the beach, and enjoy a peaceful, quiet setting that is only a 20 minute ferry ride away from Seattle, Tacoma, or the Olympic Peninsula.
