I would not rent this home again. It wasnât clean upon arrival. Used Maxi pads on the floor in one of the bedrooms - so it clearly wasnât cleaned properly. The house stunk when we arrived - we had to go buy candles to rid the smell. The screened porch needs to be cleaned, it was very dirty as well as the rugs on the porch and in the kitchen. The master bed has no box springs so it feels like you are sleeping on the floor. I wouldnât recommend this home to anyone, nor will I rent it again.
My partner and I stayed here on a last minute weekend trip. The place was clean, and easy to find. The beach, pool and restaurants were very close by. Check in was super easy and made arriving a breeze. I would stay here again!
We loved everything! Just a short 5 min walk to the beach down the boardwalk. Pool was a 10 min walk. Definitely recommend renting a golf cart. House had everything we needed. Beds were super comfy!
We had a short stay at this property because we came in for a funeral. The property was super clean and super cute. It made this very difficult occasion a little better since the property was so nice. Very close to the beach and the community amenities are awesome!
The home was very clean and very spacious. We throughly enjoy our stay and loved the Windmark beach and itâs downtown. My kids loved the ice cream shop and the candy store. We also enjoyed the Roof top restaurant and acted there twice.
Enjoyed the house, beach, and pool. Itâs beautiful property!! The garbage had beach chairs, a wagon to pull it all. I wished we could have stayed longer.
The home was very clean and spacious. Wonderful location. We didnât have enough towels initially but that was quickly resolved when contacting the management company.
My husband and I loved our little getaway from Port St. Joe in this house. It was great to get some space from the family but also a 5 minute drive to PSJ for family outings, events and restaurants. I also loved the fact the house and the community had connecting boardwalks and less than 5 minute walk to the beach and their brand-new restaurants and shopping district. Area was super quiet and let you sleep in.
We had a fabulous time in Port St. Joe. The house was absolutely stunning. We enjoy being able to hang out in the large living room watching movies together. The bed in the master was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately my husband and I did not realize it was an adjustment bed until the last day we were there (might be something they want to add to the house description). Although the house is clearly in the eastern time zone there were times when the clock would change to central time zone. It was quite funny at times because one of us could be in the kitchen at 7am while someone in the living room the time read 8am. But when your on vacation time does not matter!
We will DEFINITELY be staying here again!
The house was beautiful and a short walk to the beach on a very nice board walk. The pool is much further than what was stated in the listing. Although the house was very nice the beds were incredibly uncomfortable and the kitchen was sparsely stocked. These were very small things that didnât change that we had a wonderful time at this property. It was perfect for our family get away.
We arrived at the house on a particularly cold Christmas Eve in Port Saint Joe. The door code provided didnât work on one lock and there were dead batteries on the second lock. Once we were able to get inside, the heat wasnât on and it was very cold and dark in the house. We turned the heat on only to find it wasnât working at all, and we went out first night with no heat. Vacasa had over an hour wait on the phone and it was impossible to get ahold of them. We had no choice to interrupt the owners Christmas. It was mid morning on Christmas Day before we finally were able to get some heat coming out. We sat down to a big breakfast and found 3 knives for a house that sleeps 7. the owner was very responsive and apologetic and said that Vacasa had confirmed the home was ready and in working order before our arrival. the owner somehow managed to get Vacasa over with a new dinner service the day after Christmas. Not a great start to our holiday getaway. The home itself is in a great part of Windmark Beach, and despite the rough start we enjoyed the stay. The owner was friendly But due to the failures of Vacasa in assuring a smooth arrival and readiness, we would think again before renting a Vacasa home.
This home is in Windmark Beach community. It is a beautiful master planned community. We loved the layout of the home, the quietness of the community, the bike-ability of the community, the safety of the area. On the other hand, the home was not well cleaned (especially during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC), the kitchen dishes, etc seemed to be sourced from a second hand store, and no walkway from the driveway to the back screened porch (garage was not available for use by guests). Upon check-in we excitedly looked around the house and realized that it had not been cleaned well at all! The toilets & showers had remnants of the previous occupants. The sofa was covered in sand/crumbs/dirt. The floor had a ton of sand/dirt all over. We called and spoke to Ashley with Vacasa and he offered to have someone come and clean again but we had already moved in and did not want strangers coming into the house. We took the time clean for the first hour and half of our stay to ensure it was clean and SANITIZED. When speaking with Ashley, I expressed my disappointment that during a global pandemic, the house was clearly not cleaned or sanitized as the Vacasa website described. This is a pretty home, new construction, and mostly a short walk to the beach. We had a wagon to cart our beach stuff back and forth and utilizing the driveway was easiest (as opposed to the front door/walkway). It would be nice if they installed a path from the driveway to the back porch or establish the garage as guest usable space to store their beach stuff. After multiple follow-ups with Ashley via text and calls, the ONLY compensation for the uncleanliness was a refund of the cleaning fee. This is totally unacceptable during a global pandemic. Vacasaâs website states âWe're going above and beyond to support your health and safety with our Vacasa Premium Clean program. These expanded housekeeping measures meet or exceed CDC recommendations and align with guidance from hospitality industry experts. Our professional, trained housekeepers follow a comprehensive cleaning procedure after every stay, including sanitizing and disinfecting for your protection.â This was clearly not the case.
The home is beautiful and in a great walking neighborhood. Beautiful walkways to town center and to the gulf. Beds very comfortable. Porches great. I was disappointed however that there are not beach chairs and umbrella available to guests to use while there. We didnât bring chairs since there were reviews mentioning that they were able to use chairs/umbrella/wagon.
We liked the house. Plenty of room for all of us. Beds were comfortable. Neighborhood was friendly and quiet. Very peaceful place to go. We will return
We loved the location and easy access to the beach, walking paths, and community pool. The multiple screened in porches were wonderful. Plenty of room in the house and everything was clean when we arrived. Would rent again next year!
The home is spacious and well cleaned. HOWEVER, the 7 bait stations/ bug traps in the kitchen, that I initially assumed are for ants, are probably for the roaches. That's correct. The second morning of our stay, there were Roaches crawling on and around the stove. I called Vacasa customer service. The staff person told me that nothing could be done immediately because the issue was not a safety issue. The staff person nicely explained that an exterminator could come spray next week, but was not available on the weekend and a weekend house call would cost the rental owner extra expense. The Vacasa rep provided an email and requested pics. I emailed the pics and requested a response. I never heard back. I have an intense fear of roaches. I threw out the food I'd purchased and we ate out instead of cooking. We left very early the next morning.
We took precautions against carrying the bugs to our home. Our vacation was full of anxiety. Roaches were obviously a known, pre-existing problem with this unit, yet it was rented to me anyway. That's dishonest.
