The Island Pearl was clean and comfortable. The AC worked great, there was plenty of room to hang out and we had everything we needed! The short walk to the beach was a plus and the big trees for hanging our hammocks was awesome! We had a great stay and would stay again!
Perfect for our needs and in a great location! This property is not the lap of luxury, but the place is clean and the beds are comfortable and the location canât be beat. It definitely has a âGrandmaâs beach houseâ kind of charm! The only qualm I had was about the electrical system- there are extension cords everywhere in the main living area! But everything worked and it didnât burn down so I guess itâs ok!
Very close to the beach with just a short walk to the beach access. Left from the home to the dead end and turn left. Follow the pavers to the beach access then right!
It gave us what we were searching for: a S. Carolina island experience. Loved that it was a home, nestled in the shady pines. Loved the sweet short walk to a beautiful beach. Loved that it was a perfectly sized place for a small group of people, and so reasonably priced. It was clean, comfortable, quirky, and a pleasure to experience. (It had been described in comments as "Grandma's Beach House"- and that is exactly what we loved about it!)
We know it isn't updated. We know it doesn't have a pool but it's just perfect for our family on our multi-week vacation. We just feel at home there and we love it! So close to the beach. YAY!
We felt this home offered great value. It was a relatively easy 2 minute walk to the beach. Listing was accurate. Everything was clean and home had all of the basic and listed amenities we needed for our stay. Updated kitchen and newer washer / dryer downstairs. Liked how the home was somewhat hidden in the surrounding landscape. Lots of mature vegetation / trees / palms / pines. The outdoor porch area was a nice place to sit and listen to the ocean. Parking for three cars.
Fantastic location, but house is in real need of an update. Surfaces and floors in the house were very clean, but the living room furniture was soiled and stained. A deep clean is needed. Despite these problems, I would stay there again! You can't beat the location and price for a house at HH in Sea Pines.
Donât stay here if you need new, shiny, or modern. But if you donât mind staying in what feels like grandmaâs cozy 1980 Boca condo, and you want an affordable, very casual beach-close getaway, this is the place for you. It gets four stars mostly for its location, and it was very clean, and well-stocked with adequate bath towels. I really want to give it 3.5 stars, but since that wasnât an option, I rounded up.
I recommend bringing an Amazon stick for more entertainment options, extra trash liners, and, despite its location by the beach, your own beach towels & chairs.
We didnât spend a lot of time on the screened porch because we were here in chilly November, but it in warmer months, that room would be a highlight. They must take down the hammock in the photos for winter, as it was absent.
Note: when we arrived, a smoke detector was beeping, and despite our call to Vacasa, no one arrived to replace the batteries. So we removed the battery & weâre careful not to start any fires.
We loved the quiet neighborhood with lots of shade. The house itself was the perfect size for our vacation. It was an easy walk to the beach and although the houses are close together, it doesnât feel like it because of all of the vegetation.
The house is in major need of updates and a few repairs. The master bathroom toilet does not fill back up and runs constantly unless you manually hold the flapper down. Also, the light in that bathroom has a fan that is horrendously loud when itâs running. The mirror has lights, but one side was burnt out. The garbage disposal does not work and we had ants in the kitchen. Overall, we had a great time in Hilton Head and the issues were minor. However, at the weekly rate of this rental, we expected a little more.
We have stayed at this property a few times. Itâs not real expensive and there is a reason. It has never been updated. Ever. If you donât mind old it is worth the price.
Some small electrical issues and the hammock is now gone.
It is only steps from the beach and the screened in porch is awesome. Shaded by the canopy of the trees. Washer and dryer are downstairs and you have to go outside to get there.
Needs the carpet steam cleaned and some electrical work. But we will be back.
This rental was exactly as described. Super close to the beach, great screened in porch, plenty of room for our family of 4, it was clean, and had a well stocked kitchen. The home does need a little bit of love though. Lights out on the screened in porch, extremely loud bathroom fans, and the carpet has definitely seen better days. Overall, we would stay here again. The beach in this area was not busy at all and there were a ton of people on the island due to spring break.
If you are not fancy and looking for the up to date everything, this is not for you. However, it is very close to the beach. My husband and I spent 1 month working here. It was my fault not asking if the porch was enclosed and it was not and it was cold. I asked the building manager for a space heater and maybe even to hang some plastic but the answer was no "very disappointing". Working conditions were not great but we dealt with it. The kitchen has all the essentials except a wine opener "LOL". I also missed sitting outside somewhere in the sun as the porch was not conducive as it was not large enough, no sun and falling apart so we sat in the car port. Overall, we had a great time and liked hitting the beach for a lunch time break from work.
Could use a renovation but clean and close to beach
As others have noted, the house is a bit outdated. However, it is clean and you will find all the tools needed to cook meals, youâll enjoy relaxing in the hammock or lots of other outdoor furniture on the large screened in porch, and youâll love the 3 minute walk to the beach. The house has a nice outdoor covered area for bikes. We loved our vacation here with our 3 kids!
This 3 BR 2 Bath house in Sea Pines is very close to the beach, a 5 minute walk at most. It is a nice sized house, with room for everyone in your family. The screened in porch is a great bonus. The house itself is what I would call "value-rated". It is clean and comfortable, but there are no real updates and nothing 'extra' included with the house. Sure there are towels and pots, pans and dishes. But the cupboards were bare, no leftover oil, sugar, spices, butter, ketchup, Pam spray, etc. No extra garbage bags, at least not that we could easily found. For the price, it is a great location and a clean comfortable environment. It was perfect for us, but for those of you who expect the extras, you will not find them here. There is a propane grill down the steps near the driveway, this would be good for families who want to cook out at home and save some money.
