First AMI is a great place to vacation for the laid back family or couples trip. Iâve been coming here every summer for the past 9 years. Tropical Oasis is a fine home for families or couples. The home is pleasant and mildly decorated. The pool is the highlight of the house. Some of the pool furniture is a bit dilapidated and could be replaced, but overall I loved this place and would like to return. The neighborhood is welcoming and easy going. I loved it âŒïž
Home itself could have been amazing, vacasa not so much to work with when things go wrong. Probably the worse experience Iâve had in my 15 years of booking.
In close proximity to beach. Very spacious with very nice pool and access to garage, which was nice. This is listed as a "pet friendly" home. We did NOT have a pet. However, there was dog hair on the floors. Otherwise, the house was clean as far as the linens, toilets, showers, kitchen counters, dishes, and to us that was the important part. The only reason I mention it was that I felt like the floors did not get cleaned, as we had to wear shoes/socks after showering, as the floors would turn our feet very dirty and there was alot of dog hair from last renter. The landscape, though it did not effect our stay was sad with lots of weeds growing up on the patio area and around the entire house. Regardless, I would stay here again, as it was very nice.
Great location within 1 block to the beach. Overall the house was nice to stay in. The pool and hot tub were a nice option to the beach. I would stay here again.
We spent a lovely week at Tropical Oasis. We enjoyed every moment in the house, as well as in the beautiful pool. The customer service was magnificent. The proximity to the beach make the house located in the best spot or place. We can't wait to return next summer. It's a very nice and cozy house.
Great location and nice pool area. Roomy. Most furniture tired and needs replacement as does decrepit gas grill. Several small items should be addressed to make this a great place
This home was very close to the beach. Beds were comfortable. House was spacious and in a quiet neighborhood. Very close to great restaurants. There was plenty of room for 5 guests. Loved the new grill. Pool was nice and warm but wouldâve loved instructions on how it worked. Took us a while to figure out the hot tub and we never did get the pool light to work. Pots and pans were heavily damaged and need to be replaced. With a few updates and some good instructions this home could be top notch.
Everything was great. House had soap and adequate toilet paper. Plenty of towels and cleaning products for the week. The pool and hot tub were great. The only one fault... And it was a big one is the master bedroom mattress was trash. The guy who paid for the place had a sore back while my guest and kids were well rested and rambunctious.
This is the 2nd year we have stayed at this house. The location is perfect , but the air conditioner will not cool any of the bedrooms! This is 2 years it has been this way! The pool needs to be resurfaced! The home needs some work as well. We got there and the code they gave us was way to long for the key pad and we had frozen items and ice . It took 10 plus minutes to figure out how to get in ! We had 4 fans going in the master bedroom and you ould barely sleep in there . The same in all the other bedrooms! They need to spend some money on this home!
Very disappointing. Property managers were not responsive to our problems. Tried calling the day we checked in regarding entry code not working and ants in the kitchen. I had to call back on 3 days later getting no response. Said they would call Spectrum and drop off ant traps. Someone finally came to fiddle with the internet connection and place traps. Finally, a week after checking in, a new living room TV came(that one wasn't working for the week) and it was discovered that the internet was not working. Unfortunately, the entry keypad was connected to internet and that was why it didn't work all week. Our whole list of problems and concerns were finally addressed after a full week. The pictures of the house and backyard were totally deceiving. There was not a comfortable place to sit inside or out. Furniture was old and very worn. Mattresses were not at all comfortable. The ice maker didn't work, they did leave ice cube trays. The dishwasher was old and wouldn't start very easily. There was also broken glass in it. Light fixture in master bathroom was so old and worn out that the maintenance guy couldn't even get it to work properly. The twin bedroom still had the hurricane doors over the windows so in an emergency, anyone staying in there wouldn't be able to get out. The whole house needed a good deep cleaning. We have re read some of the old reviews on the place and it seems that nothing has really changed, despite comments from the Vacasa to improve. Overall, this house was in a great location and the pool and hot tub were wonderful but the house and property need a lot of care and maintenance.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
A budget experience at a premium price - unless you love devilled eggs
When small details are crap, they add up to a heap of crappiness that exceeds expectations of how crappy something can be!
Since â03 weâve rented 15 properties nearby. We know what to expect and for these rates itâs fair to expect a decent standard. Island homes are often older, so no complaint that this house was tired and needing paint.
As another review said, there is nowhere comfortable to sit. The furniture seems as old as the house, despite the misleading photos.
The footstool worn through by countless feet, leather sofa worn to rough suede, patio furniture designed by a sadist and ancient giant tube TV lurking amongst VHS tapes all create a certain atmosphere.
The master bed is criminally uncomfortable, the room inexplicably hot. Run the AC enough and the rest of the house freezes. Not easy to fix, but a check in the crappy column.
The bedrooms are dark. The storm shutters are closed and broken, enhancing the bunker vibe, and half the lamps are missing bulbs.
If more than 3 of you visit, youâll be sharing small, old towels.
The kitchen is bizarre. 2 Bundt cake tins for all your beach baking. Pans with heavily-damaged surfaces. A melted cutting board and knives so blunt, they probably qualify as child-safe. A total of three tiny, clouded wine glasses, and a psychedelic devilled egg plate, presumably for entertaining sightseers fascinated by the vast collection of ancient Tupperware.
The garage provided broken chairs and umbrellas, more TupperwareâŠand another devilled egg plate, just in case.
If complaining about wine glasses sounds entitled, none of the other properties weâve rented have come so comically equipped.
We like a warm pool, so paid $350 for heating, presuming TECO must generate electricity by burning diamonds. We were unexpectedly refunded: âThe poolâs warm enoughâ. Eh? Well, the first few days were fine. A cold front and heavy rain crashed the temp to way below ideal, so we asked for the heat to be turned on, at the diamond rate. âWe donât turn it on after Aprilâ. Customer service is for losers! Later it occurred to us that the pool heater probably didnât work. Aha!
As for basics, does it really save THAT much money to provide only the cheapest, transparent, single-ply toilet and kitchen paper?
A premium price paid for a bargain-basement, budget experience.
It would take little time, modest expense and little effort to flip that around.
You just have to give a damn.
We had an okay experience. Communication with Vacasa could be better. The only time they responded in a timely fashion via email was when there was an issue with our shower. Unfortunately, the master shower was clogged and couldnât be fixed until the day before we left; we were discounted some of the cost of our stay for this at least. Calling the company means youâre calling a call center, so they donât really know anything about your specific property.
I was also bummed to learn that they donât offer a place to drop bags in case you arrive to the island earlier than check-in.
The pool/hot tub area is nice, but we had difficulties with it consistently running well. It was a bit of a puzzle to get the hot tub to heat sometimes as there were no instructions posted.
I did appreciate having TVs in the bedrooms. Do note that one of the beds is a Murphy style bed with not the most comfortable mattress, but the bedroom is private. The walk to the beach is great. We rented a golf cart and weâre able to park it in the garage.
Check-in was simple. We were offered a late checkout for a fee, but only until 2pm. The Vacasa app says that late checkouts allow you to stay to 7pm. I asked via email about this and never got a reply.
The house had a gas grill, but it was janky. We were happy to see that they also had a charcoal grill, which we ended up using instead with charcoal we purchased. I emailed about the grill, so hopefully they will service it.
All in all, we likely wonât stay with Vacasa again. There are so many rental companies on the island and a smaller company or independent owner may offer better service.
This home is so convenient to everything! Straight across the road from Holmes beach. The pool was amazing! Just wish it had a few more cooking utensils inside. We will be back!!
Property location was great. Property could use a good deep cleaning. Several things need repaired, such as outdoor furniture. Ice maker did not work. Kitchen knives were bad - could not cut so we bought a new one. Every time I contacted Vacasa they responded right away and sent someone to the house. One employee even contacted me at 6:30 pm - after her workday to let me know what was happening. I really appreciated her!
The house was just what we needed, pool n hot tub included. 1.5 blocks from the beach for great daytime swimming and sunning in the sand and wonderful sunsets! The rooms were big enough, the layout allows you to spread out when needed or gather when you want. AMI and the Tropical Oasis through VACASA are our happy place!
The best of this house is the location, very close the beach. Tropical Oasis is spacious and it has a very nice patio and pool.
However, there are several things that needs fixing. Although the patio is very nice, it was dirty and very messy, dirty chairs and tables all over the place along with old deflated pool floats laying around the pool deck.
There is also an outdoor shower which is dirty and it has weeds in it, the shower head also needs to be replaced.
Inside the house cleaning was also an issue, blinds need dusting, the house in general requires a detailed cleaning. Additional hangers will be beneficial, kitchen pots are old and need replacement.
One of the biggest issues we encountered was with Vacasa customer service. The house is advertised as one car garage and two driveway spaces. When we arrived, the garage was full of old and peeled up dirty furniture. We contacted Vacasaâs customer service number, but no one came to clean the garage, my husband ended up moving the furniture inside the house to a corner of the dining room as we needed the 3 parking spaces. We also contacted Vacasa, Saturday, the day of our arrival, because the A/C was not cooling down, this time someone came in Monday, luckily the A/C started working Saturday evening.
One of the beds had linens but no covers, several days later we found the covers in the dryer.
Overall, the house was nice but had several inconveniences. The house needs to be better cleaned and upgraded and the customer service needs HUGE improvement as they need to be more attentive to their renters.
The distance to the beach and the back yard are what you are renting. The house is spacious but needs some work. Ants caused us to throw some food away and the pool was very dirty when we arrived. Took 2 days to get that cleaned and working (besides the cleaning I did). The Island is great and this property gives you great access to the trolley and the beach. The bed in the master is wore out and things in general just need to be addressed.
