Summary:
This is a cozy studio, with two double beds, kitchen, bathroom and a big terrace with great views. If you are looking to experience the old Barcelona, this antique building is a nice fit for you! There is air conditioning for the hot summer days. It is perfect for adventurous people, willing to discover traditional European buildings like this one. To reach the flat there are some very narrow steep stairs, that will definitely pay off once you discover the beautiful views from the terrace.

The Space:
This is a cozy studio, with two double beds, kitchen, bathroom and a big terrace with great views. The decoration was made with original pieces, highlighting a modern style on this rustic flat and antique building with a vibe from the old Barcelona.

Guest Access:
You will have access to the entire property and it is important that you are respectful towards your neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 10 pm.

The Neighborhood:
The apartment is located in Born, which is the trendiest neighborhood in the center of Barcelona. You will be located in an upbeat area, with the best bars and restaurants.

Getting Around:
Close to the apartment is the JAUME I subway station, part of the yellow line (L4) that will take you directly to the beach and many other touristic attractions. From the airport you can take the Aerobus to Plaça Catalunya and there change to the Urquinaona subway station, part of this yellow line. You can also easily walk from Plaça Catalunya to the flat.

Horrible experience! Do NOT rent!

Dangerous steps, misrepresented apartment description. Two issues were NOT resolved after 1 week, so I left: 1) NO access to terrace (keys didn't work) 2) Shower spilled water into apartment below. (I went to a hotel to wash my hair.) I lived in Barcelona for 7 years, so I knew what to expect. Narrow steps on the 5th floor, OK. But these steps are SPIRAL and even dangerous. Without access to the terrace, you are stuck if there's a fire or other emergency. When you enter the building, there's a sign declaring it illegal to rent. And finally, you have to go to a supermarket to get and return keys; the store is over a kilometer away from the apartment! I had several conversations with the management company, and they tried to resolve the issues. But nothing happened, so I had to leave. Very disappointing.

TERRIBLE DO NOT STAY HERE

Just a terrible experience from start to finish. I booked this for my partner who just had ACL surgery. It was not clear in the description that there was no elevator/lift at the property. When he arrived, he opened the building door and there was nothing there but stairs immediately that were in a spiral staircase that’s very low, steep, narrow, old and falling apart. By the way, there’s also no railing to hold onto on the stairs. It is very dangerous and he hit his head on the stairs as they were too low. He was not able to get up the stairs because of how dangerous they are and since he got hurt from them. His doctor advised him not to go up any stairs, especially not carrying luggage up them. It is impossible to go up without luggage, let alone with luggage. Don’t bring any luggage if you stay here! The staircase is made for a chimpanzee to climb up. It is not made for human as it is literally it even possible to walk up. You have to climb up on all fours (arms and legs) if you want to get to the apartment. The apartment is on the fifth floor so good luck! The staircase is also extremely claustrophobic as it is a spiral staircase and has no space. He was unable to actually stay at the property as he could not get to the apartment due to the dangerous staircase in the building. He didn’t get any refund even though I pleaded with the management. He couldn’t even stay one night and they stole our money (he was booked for a whole month). They were impossible to reach for days when he couldn’t access the apartment and they were very difficult to deal with. Terrible management, terrible apartment, terrible building. The management and owner of the apartment are thieves. Moreover, there is no private balcony or patio with the apartment; that is false advertising. I had a friend check the situation and in order to get to the terrace, you need a key as it is a communal deck but it is impossible to open the door to the deck because the lock does not work and does not unlock. While you try to unlock it, you are on the verge of falling down the building stairs because there is no stairs landing ever on any floor and the stairs are so thin. Each floor is in between two steps and when you come out of your apartment, there is no floor; there are only stairs. Do not stay here if you want to have safety because it is a very dangerous building and the management don’t care about your well-being.
