Big Jim Mountain Lodge - Meredith Lodging

As the name so aptly implies, Big Jim Mountain Lodge features a stunning view of Big Jim Mountain, named after the famed first American to summit Mt. Everest in 1963, Jim Whittaker. Big Jim lies on the southeastern extreme of the Chiwaukum Mountains, a subrange within Washington's Cascade Range. With their often-reddish rock and tundra upper slopes, these mountains resemble Colorado's mountains more than what is typically thought of as the Washington Cascades. Just imagine the backdrop!
It is the ideal place for sports and recreation getaway.

With 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, Big Jim Mountain Lodge sleeps up to 6 comfortably. The main floor has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a living room, as well as a primary bedroom with a king bed and ensuite master bath. In addition, there is a laundry area and a second bathroom with a tub. There is an American Leather Sleeper Sofa in the living room as well.

The second floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen, and the second with a two-queen bunkbed.

The beautifully designed outdoor yard features a very attractive seating area, along with a newly installed outdoor hot tub with mountain views, and a lush and lovely fresh new lawn. Close to the ski pass and the lake for great summer and winter sports, fishing, and hiking, this is an ideal location for those who like to snowmobile on the trails near Lake Wenatchee State Park.

Big Jim Mountain Lodge is sure to become a favorite family vacation spot!

The Sweetest January Getaway

My boyfriend and I wanted to explore Leavenworth and have a lovely, cozy cabin experience and this exceeded our expectations! It was my first time ever in Leavenworth and this stay added so much to our experience. The hot tub was absolutely amazing, the pool table and music system were so fun, and the entire cabin was just so cozy and sweet. We'll definitely be back!

Cozy cabin in the woods

Perfect home for a girls trip to Leavenworth. We enjoyed the woodsie feel, hot tub and the overall coziness of the cabin. It's a 30 minute drive from downtown Leavenworth. Beautiful, drive during the day but the dark, windy road can be a bit errie at night, especially with the deer popping out. We lost power (water) our 1st morning. Called management company but they were unaware of any issues. I requested a call back when they received word and never received one. No harm done, everything was restored when we got back to cabin. Overall, we really enjoyed our our stay.

Mountain Getaway

Had a great time riding gravel bikes and hanging out in Leavenworth. It was awesome to get back and visit on the deck, sit in the hot tub and watch wild turkeys. I’ll stay here again.

We loved our stay at the Big Jim Lodge, it was very clean and comfortable. All of the things that we needed were provided. It was about a 30 minute drive to Leavenworth

Stunning Cabin

It is rare that the property is better than the pictures…in this case it is true. This cabin was absolutely gorgeous, clean, cozy, spacious and stocked with everything we needed and more. Very family friendly with plenty of room and activities for all ages. There are neighbors close by but it is so peaceful you feel like you are all alone in the middle of the woods. This is a hidden gem that made my family and I start looking for cabins to buy!

Good not great

Overall customer service was very poor. As we were headed there, I reached out for early check in. I was told that they would ask the cleaning crew if I could check in 1.5hrs early and get back to me shortly. I had to reach out after 3hrs (because I hadn’t heard from anyone) and was told that due to it being a busy time of year that we couldn’t get in early. At this point we were only going to be 30mins early and were in the backyard looking at an empty house, no cleaning crew or any clear reason we couldn’t enter. We waited around for the lock to hit 4pm. What a joke. There were tons of bats in the roof at the back of the house, which we noticed while waiting for the lock. The bats weren’t really an issue, it was the bat feces that was all over the deck and on one of the chairs. We couldn’t use the chair and had to sweep the deck so we could comfortably be outside. Also don’t get excited about eating outside in the beautiful backyard. There are wasps everywhere and as soon as there is a hint of any type of food, they swarm. The wifi was also an issue on the first day. There is no reception up there so without wifi, you are totally disconnected. Luckily there was a landline that allowed us to call for help. I still don’t know if they fixed it or if we did by unplugging and re-plugging wires. Overall the house is beautiful, spacious and basically had everything you need but I wouldn’t stay there again.

Loved the stay!

Had a wonderful time at the cabin and enjoyed all the best of Leavenworth! Location is perfect for gatherings, and the cabin's spacious floorplan really gave us options to get comfortable. The hot tub was a great bonus after a long day of adventuring! Would definitely stay again!

Winter weekend getaway

Leavenworth, truly is a beautiful winter town and the property we stayed in is beautiful cabin nicely decorated and well equipped. The only problem was the BBQ + not enough Gas tank to enjoy the outside!, though already knew there was a problem with the BBQ in one of the reviews and tried to communicate with the owner…. No response was received and obviously no actions had been taken!!!. This was the only turn off!

Bad Experience

The view of the mountains is almost non-existent, only accessible from the driveway. There is no privacy here. Neighbors in every direction just 100 feet away. We had an animal knock over the garbage can one morning and to our surprise, we found it full of someone else's garbage which we had to clean up. We also found cigarette butts littered around the property. But the worst of it all is that we were informed that the AC unit broke down before our arrival. Management installed 2 AC units rated for 150 sq ft and didn't even bother to foam out the top of the venting windows. The house would heat up to 85 degrees during the day making it impossible to stay during that time. Due to closeness to the railroad tracks, and having the windows open during the night to combat the heat of the home, we would be woken up every couple hours by the sound of the train horn. We also got to deal with servicemen who were there to install the new AC unit for a couple days. First day they walked right into the home while we were still in our PJs. Management informed us they would not do that without notice. They also left the door unlocked when they left, causing us to carry our valuables in our car for the remainder of the trip. When we brought our concerns to management they became very dismissive of our concerns and told us that they had provided adequate solutions and gaslit all of our claims. Overall it's a beautiful home, but managed poorly on every level.

Everything was awesome. Only draw back is that the gas bbq outside seemed to be broken. It took forever to heat up and that’s a draw back if you want to cook steaks.

A wonderful winter retreat

Are we had a great time staying at the cabin! The cabin was easy to reach from the main road, but felt private and secluded. There are neighbors within the vicinity so you need to watch the noise levels, but you feel like you’re in a rural setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The architecture and the amenities at the cabin are fantastic, although we did struggle a bit with unfamiliar technology. The hot tub was delightful, the kitchen was well stocked, and the large exposed timber construction bathed in sunlight from the large bay windows was gorgeous. The bedding was comfortable and really good size. The bunkbeds upstairs can easily sleep to adults, and or some of the sturdiest I’ve ever seen. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there, and we’re definitely return for another visit in the winter or the summer!
