Plenty of room and the separation between rooms and Kitchen/Dining/Living Room was nice for when we needed to take a break with the kids...overall, a great experience and we are already talking about returning for another family gathering.
We enjoyed staying in the home for my grandsons wedding. It was very nice to be able to have everyone in the same place and the wedding was only 5 minutes away. Would stay again if the opportunity arises.
The house and rooms are large and nicely spread out. Kitchen was well stocked with pot, pans, plates, glasses, etc. Stayed here with four teens and five adults and it was perfect. The teens want to make it an annual vacation to this house!
We have stayed at this property multiple times. We love that all the bedrooms have their own bathroom. We also love the huge kitchen and cozy living room with fire. It is right down the road from the grocery store which is great. We traveled up the road 10 minutes and went for a hike at Big Trees which was lovely. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with.
This was a great cabin for a big family! The best part being the massive great room, big dining table, and huge counter in the kitchen. They say eveyone gathers in the kitchen and itâs true. But here if thatâs the case, there were always plenty of other places for everyone to light. The kitchen was fully stocked (we made a full Thanksgiving meal there and it was a breeze.) The house has a long driveway with plenty of room for everyoneâs car.
Surprisingly not mentioned unless I missed it, is that there is a huge meadow directly across from the house. This was FANTASTIC for kids in the group. The big kids threw the football, and
The small kids (8 and 6) had a blast walking down the meadow to the pond and exploring and jumping over the stream. It was also a great spot for some family photos first thing in the morning.
There is burger joint about 2 minutes down the road with one of the best burgers Iâve ever had, not just saying that. They also have excellent soft serve and itâs not the cheap âicyâ kind itâs the high quality creamy type. French fries were outstanding as well. Go at 5pm because it gets busy!
The only thing that was challenging was the house is heated too well!! I recommend leaving heaters off in the bedrooms if itâs winter when you visit. Fun games under island, & fire pit and string lights out back.
Host was quick to reply to questions as well. Add to it all that Calaveras Big Tress is literally minutes away and this is a 10 star stay. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful time! What beautiful accommodations! A huge great room for all to enjoy and then a wonderful bedroom with attached baths for each of our kids and their families! Arnold was a fun town to walk around in with a coffee shop, restaurants, and an ice cream shop. We had a special long weekend together!
Our group of six adults and five young children had a wonderful ski weekend at the Yellow Dog Inn. Everything works in the house and the kitchen has anything you could need. We're already talking about when we can go back!
As usual the house was clean and welcoming for us. This is the fourth time we have stayed and we love it. Close to everything. Great grocery store, Big Tree Market, down the road and carries lots of local wines. Plenty of room for everyone. Thanks again.
We got there just before the snow started and left as it was melting. There was a gorgeous meadow across the street that provided so much fun for the kids. They had tons of sleds. The kitchen was well stocked. The rooms were beautiful. This was our second stay at this house. We will be back!
This house was perfect for multiple families. We had 3 couples with kids and had plenty of space and our own bathrooms. The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed to cook every meal. The property manager was extremely responsive when we had a slight hot water issue. He addressed the issue immediately and was so easy to work with. We will definitely be back!!!
Place is Beautiful and easy to get to. Plenty a room for the Full family and a long driveway to hold all the cars 30 mins from the lake and 5 mins from the gas station 10 mins from the grocery store. Can say enough about this place. Own was easy to reach when the WiFi went down and he was able to make a call to get it fixed. All and all I give this place a 10 out of 10
We really enjoyed Yellowdog Inn. We loved the kitchen with the two sinks, plenty of counter space, and well stocked dishes. The great room/dining area was big enough for our group of 14, 6 adults and 8 kids ranging 4-13, we didnât feel cramped. We loved how many bathrooms there were and the bedrooms are styled beautifully. We enjoyed the fire pit, corn hole, kids lounge/loft, and the plenty of chairs on the porch. The location is great, very close to ice cream and outdoor summer evening concerts. Be advised that most places close early, around 5, in the neighboring towns. We were minutes away from Big Trees and White Pines Lake. The owner is very responsive and friendly.
This house was great for multiple families. The house is spacious and welcoming. The kitchen and great room area are fabulous for group meals and hanging out. We were surprised to see that one of the rooms was over the unattached garage and the 1/2 bath was downstairs in the garage. The room was super cute but not ideal since you had to go outside to access.
Place was amazing for three young families. The three master suites were great for adults and the upstairs room with four bunks and three more beds was awesome and made for a great play area. The kitchen was awesome - well equipped and easy to make multiple meals. Backyard was equipped with grills and fire pit and small play area for kiddos.
Overall - a great trip!
This property was by far the best of all options for our family's weekend trip to Arnold and I'm so glad we were able to book it.
Full amenities. Beautifully renovated. Dinnerware and board game cabinet fully stocked, TV equipped with Netflix, Hulu and whatever else you'd ever need. Backyard comes equipped with a fire pit, a long table for family style dining and a gas grill. Loved that there were enough private rooms and bathrooms for the couples and enough twin/bunk beds for everyone else â it made for ideal room assignments.
We will definitely check here first the next time we're thinking about vacationing in the area.
Make sure you bring your own towels and linens unless you're adding on the service through the property manager)
I went to Arnold with a group of girlfriends for a weekend getaway and the house was perfect for us. There were 13 of us and the house had plenty of space. The kitchens, front room bathrooms and all the bedrooms were gorgeous and clean. Beds were very comfortable! Thatâs not something you can always say at rentals. If I had to nitpick a little, it would have been nice for the back area to have been blown off, and the table wiped down, and also their were a bit of cobwebs, but it wasnât a big deal at all. Would 100% stay here again with no hesitation! And loved the dog pictures and Austin powers!
We booked this house specifically because it was spacious and it was remodeled, a rare find in these areas. It was the perfect house for 3-4 families. I loved the upgrades, the designs and style of each bedroom, and quality was great. The only issues were, the house was not that clean, and it was freezing when we got there. Took 2 hours for the house to warm up because the thermostat was not turned on for us prior to our arrival. Walls and doors needed cleaning or repainting as they were dirty. The entire backyard was covered in leaves that were there for weeks or so, and it was tracked into the house everytime we came back inside. I can't imagine having someone come and leaf blow the place the day before guests to arrive would be too much to ask for. Spider webs everywhere, in all light fixtures, even under main kitchen table. We were told there would be no linen service because we booked with 4 days notice, and we had to bring our own. So we had to spend an extra $150 buying sheets for bed sizes we did not already have, to find there was a linen closet filled with linens folded. All these issues are a drop in the bucket, because the place was really nice and perfect for our families. We would definitely stay at this house again.
The cabin is real nice and spacious. The kitchen, dining area, and family room area were great. Plenty of space for all of us to cook, hang out, eat, play games, watch TV, etc. The dual sinks in the kitchen came in handy, nice counter top with lots of counter space, and the stove was large and great to cook on.
There were a few things that were disappointing and it seemed like the cabin really wasnât cleaned very well prior to our stay. We all felt these things could easily be resolved with a little more attention. The refrigerator in the kitchen was not good. The seals for both doors had mold growing down them, there were condiments with varying expiration dates (some should have been thrown out), and the freezer was a little dirty and had some open bags of expired food. There were spider/cobwebs in several rooms, dust and random bits of stuff from previous renters under some of the beds, and the garage was a bit messy and smelled like a wet dog. My wife ended up cleaning the dust and webs that she couldnât live with.
My MIL went to use the bathroom in her room and the toilet seat fell off. It was apparently broken by a previous renter and wasnât attached. In the same bathroom, the shower/bath tub was infested with ants. That was strange, but we ended up just closing the door to that bathroom and didnât use it. Thankfully she is pretty laid back so she didnât mind using the bathroom in the hallway.
The bedrooms were all good size and all 4 families had their own space. Two rooms upstairs are connected like a 2-room suite with twin beds and bunk beds. The kids really liked their bunk room and had a great time! One of the bedrooms with the queen bed is over the garage and detached from the cabin. We chose not to use it since nobody wanted to go thru the smelly garage and there is only a half bath downstairs.
The backyard/patio was great. It had a newer BBQ that worked well, lots of seating, and a propane fire pit/table. The propane tank was empty for the fire table, so we had to swap it in/out with the BBQ. It wasnât a big issue since we spent more time inside due to the smoke in the air from the wildfires.
We hiked the Arnold Rim Trail, fished at White Pines Lake, and walked around the giant sequoias in Big Trees State Park. Overall, we all had a great time and the kids were real sad to go.
The Inn was originally built in the early 90's and has a country charm to it. We added modern conveniences and made it large enough where families and friends can come to reconnect and relax. It has modern conveniences if you need them but if you want to disconnect its easily done with all the nature around you.
King Beds for parents! - who likes sleeping in a small twin or queen bed as parents? If traveling with other families some couple always gets stuck on the queen or sofabed. Not so here. 3 new king beds ensure you will have plenty of space to spread out and get a good nights rest. We have separate kid areas that ensure they can hang out together and have their own space. No dusty dingy old cobbled together interiors to deal with. New beds, new appliances, new furniture, even new dishes and flatware are in our place. NOTE: Linens are NOT INCLUDED but can be requested as an option. Additionally, a caretaker is on site and can help with additional questions you may have about the area and the property!
