This was our 2nd stay at 502 Shorewood. We had our 16 yr old sleep on pull out mattress which was too uncomfortable so we had to purchase a blow up mattress and air pump. Also, our master bed is in need of replacement as it was uncomfortable. Next year we hope to stay in a 3 bedroom. Some simple updates the owner might ought to consider making would be 2 new beds as noted above. Matching master bathroom lighting and plumbing fixtures, addressing mold or stained grout in master bathroom, new outdoor furniture that allows knees to spread apart and little more comfortable....current outdoor is bad for low back and feels like bar in ones back. All in all these comments were made to help the owner as they have a very nice property but the above would be nice to enjoy as a renter who has rented twice.
Perfect location. No need to get in a car for the entire stay. Walk to beach. Walk to restaurants, ice cream shopping. Far enough away from public beach to avoid the chaos. Pool was great for young and old. We will be back!
The sofa was literally falling apart. The sofa bed was busting apart. There were no linens for the sofa bed when I opened it at 730 pm. I called the after hours number and was asked "can you make do until morning? " I made it clear we needed the sofa bed to accommodate the kids. The linens never arrived. We stayed 3 nights without linens. So we "made do". The master shower was horrible when you showered the water ran across the bathroom floor. The ad on vrbo states it was recently renovated. The place was filthy. The only nice thing was the view and location.
Vehicle parking passes not avail upon check-in. Had to call for parking passes. After dropping cell phone on the floor under sofa in living area the floor underneath and behind sofa was dirty and with bottle lids. Overall a very nice stay and will repeat.
Dishwasher did not work properly. Soap dispenser did not get soap on dishes. It also looked like it had been abused inside. Master bedroom bed was way to soft with the foam topping. Had back ache from sleeping on the bed. I traveled a lot and stayed in multiple hotels but never experienced a bed as soft as this one.
This is one of the few properties with 2 bedrooms that has 2 king size beds. That is ideal for couples that are traveling together and don't have little ones that need twin size beds in one of the bedrooms.
The view from the balcony is breathtaking, with 180 degree panoramic views of the beach. There is also a "wall of windows" which offers the same view from indoors in case of inclement or extremely hot weather. It's a view which is mesmerizing.
The kitchen, dining, and living layouts are good and the furniture is comfortable. The bedrooms are very nice, the beds comfortable, and with (surprise!) enough hangars in the closets which is a rarity in any accommodations. The master bathroom has a walk-in shower with no step up at all, which is great for people with mobility issues. The second bathroom has a jacuzzi tub which unfortunately wasn't working during our visit. We contacted The Vacation Company and they were very responsive. They tried to get it fixed, but unfortunately could not in time before our week was up. Bo, one of the property managers, assured us of a partial refund if it was not able to be fixed and we are currently awaiting some word on that.
The swimming pool is large and well kept. And the beach is...right THERE! It is a very close and easy walk to one of the best beaches anywhere! A short 5 minute walk will get you to the main Coligny beach entrance with its boardwalk and all it has to offer (swinging benches, rocking chairs, restrooms, etc).
One of our traveling companions unfortunately had some work to do and needed some copies made of a file and Rachel (?) at The Vacation Company was extremely gracious in obtaining those for him. That service was much appreciated! Thank you!
Overall, we very much enjoyed the view, location, accommodations, and management at 502 Shorewood and would gladly stay again
Enjoyed our stay at Hilton Head and in Shorewood. We were back in Shorewood after a few years and happy to be back -- bring the grandchildren to a place we so enjoyed in the past. We like the ability to walk to restaurants and shops. Common areas are updated -- they had deteriorated somewhat during our last stay so pleased to see improvements.
