The unit was good size for 2 people
We loved the location near shops and restaurants
The stroll through the property to the beach was nice
Enjoyed the free parking
The rental process was super easy as was the check in at arrival. The resort employees were super friendly and helpful and all areas very clean. The unit was very comfortable but could use a couple of tweaks like bathroom light fixtures were a little worn and dim, and light in shower works sometimes. All in all, totally worth the money and we would definitely return.
This was our first vacation since 2016. We did have a reservation for Sanibel Island Ian hit that Friday blew that out of the water literally. Very nice stay relaxing, nice crew, very nice place. The price is great too. In fact stopped in Lake City we gonna get a hotel room it cost more than your condo. So yea will be back soon. Thanks so much A&M May13th- 20th
We opted for a VRBO unit since this resort is pretty expensive. Our family stayed in one of the resort rooms, and of course, they are a lot nicer, but almost twice the price of this unit. Other than the furnishings being a bit dated, we enjoyed the resort for much less money. The management company was very easy to deal with and easy to get ahold of.
the unit is old and musty worn out carpet i was even told it was one the units that was not renovated yet so why did we end up with unit the ac vent was also dirty not very happy
The property is excellent for what it is...a clean value stay in a great location.
My wife and I (in our 50s) stayed 1 week visiting our daughter's family and grandchildren who were staying a condo nearby. The location was most important for us; a short walk by beach or walkway to their condo. The apartment is small with a galley kitchenette (not a full size refrigerator), sitting area (sleeper sofa) with desk and TV (like any hotel room), a separate queen bedroom and large bathroom, and a balcony (pool view). Staying in this room with 4 using the sleeper sofa would be tight. The room was clean on arrival.
My 4 rating for check-in is due to the fact that my name wasn't on the list and I had to call the after hours emergency number to get into the property. It was no big deal and the property manager answered immediately.
Other information you should know in advance:
1. They request to keep the thermostat at 72 minimum which we found to be too warm for sleeping.
2. There is an exterminating service that treated the unit during our stay. My guess this is typical for warm climate properties. The treatment gives the property a slight (not off-putting) chemical smell that you only notice when entering the unit.
3. There is valet car service which I enjoyed but, by etiquette, requires tipping when you use your car.
4. No dishwasher so you will clean dishes by hand.
5. The decor and furniture has not been renovated in some time, so it doesn't give you the same newness feel of a nicer hotel.
My husband and I have stayed at the Marco Island Beach Resort one other time. The last unit we stayed in was MUCH nicer than this one. This unit is clean but needs a great deal of updating. It's very dated and somewhat musty smelling upon arrival. The patio also has an obstructed view. You won't be able to see the beach or pool very well. All in all though, my husband and I had a great time and we liked that we were very close to the beach and places to walk too.
Weâve stayed at this resort before so we were familiar with everything. In comparing this room with booking direct on the Marco Ocean Beach Resort website, youâll find it much cheaper but with that discount, be aware of the differences. This unit is rented out by the owner. You will NOT get daily housekeeping nor use of the chairs and umbrellas at the beach. The chair and umbrella thing was a big deal to lose from last year but again, this is discounted. They have 4 beach chairs and 2 umbrellas to haul down to the beach but the umbrellas donât auger into the sand so skip it. You will get 1 garbage bag, 1 roll toilet paper so if you plan to stay more than a couple days, going to the grocery store for soap, garbage bags, toilet paper, and tissue has to be done. There was a few things left behind by other renters like salt and pepper and a half roll of paper towel. The unit needs a thorough paint job. The trim is chipped up and the door to the unit was dirty. The room smelled musty which is common with waterfront units. We just purchased a plug-in air freshener. Two lamps had dead lightbulbs. The TV has a Roku so if you have streaming accounts of your own, you have TV. The TV in bedroom had no Roku so it was useless unless you move Roku back and forth from living room. In the end I found the savings outweighed the things we gave up (compared to the rooms owned by resort). If the rental price was higher, or if money isnât a factor for you, the resort website is the way to go.
Very nice area, close to everything! Beach was beautiful!!! Our unit was a little outdated and not cleaned very well when we arrived. The price was very good compared to the price if staying at the resort
Had a very nice time on Marco Island. This unit was an easy check in and check out. Marco Island Beach Resort was very beautiful and clean. My only issue with the unit was the sheets were ripped on the top towards the headboard, did not find extra pillowcases for the sofa bed and the pull out sofa hate to say it was very very uncomfortable and honestly should be replaced so the mattress on the sofa bed and sheets should/could be updated. The location was teriffic. Grateful that the parking was included for sure but that was a crazy elevator situation as previously commented but all and all would definitely return to Marco Island.
As others have said, condo needs updates, that would be easy and inexpensive to make, but itâs in a great location on beach. Some of the staff, particularly by the pool and morning coffee were consistently less than pleasant. You can rent beach chairs on the beach so no need to carry their chairs down and back. Pool and hot tub were nice, grounds well kept.
We loved the location but had a few complaints. There were three of us and we were only given two keys. We had to go to rental office a second time to pick up third key. It never worked and we werenât given any help from front fest or rental office. We had to share a key the whole week. Not easy to do with three adults. Could not locate extra pillow cases either. Musty smell in unit. Great pool and location though.
Good condo. The multiple elevators to get to the parking garage are awkward. Its ridiculous that private renters are not permitted to use to chairs at the beach. Makes you feel second class to the beach club members.
Right on the beach and walking distance to many bars/restaurants!
This is a great unit for 2 people. Pool was awesome and beach extraordinary!! Clean unit. The basics provided upon check in but will need to refresh soon.
