We attended a family wedding in Grand Haven and found this lovely house on VRBO. Everything was exactly like the photos, just like new and very clean. I would highly recommend staying here.â€ïž
We were in town to visit family and enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was a peaceful retreat after some busy days with family that was clean and a perfect amount of space for my husband and I.
Very nicely decorated rental. Great outside deck for morning coffee. Very quiet neighborhood. Great location to access local restaurants and Grand Haven.
Great job on this cottage remodel, perfect for a small family, nice location to Spring Lake. Beds were very comfortable, cottage was very relaxing! If you have a boat make sure you call Barton Boat works well in andança to get a slip.
We spent the first weekend of the 2023 Coast Guard Festival here -- great cottage, great location, great host! The
cottage is beautifully renovated. There is public access to Spring Lake at the end of the street, a nearby riverfront park with a splash pad for kids, several great restaurants within walking distance, and Grand Haven is just over the bridge. We had excellent communication with the host. We travel to the area at least once a year -- this is the best place we have stayed!
We enjoyed our VRBO house in a wonderful location next to boat house & lake & restaurants & our family.
My son & his wife had a new baby in Spring Lake. They both work & I got to enjoy watching my granddaughter.
Thank you!
Updated, comfortable home in a convenient location
My daughter & I enjoyed our stay @ this home. Great area to walk to local stores, farmers market or just to explore the shaded green neighborhood. Kitchen with
new stainless appliances. Outside of lacking a colander & cutting board, the kitchen was perfect. Owner/host
very responsive and also working to remedy the smart TV offering.
My husband, teenage daughter, and I really enjoyed this beautifully decorated, cozy little house. Itâs situated on an equally beautifully landscaped yard amongst a quiet neighborhood. The house is seconds away from the main road which leads to Grand Haven. Even though itâs close to a busy road, there are buildings which buffer the sound of traffic.
The owner, Merle, was quick to respond to messages and inquiries about the property. I made him aware of the ongoing problem with the a/c system (another guest mentioned the same issue in mid July).
I would definitely recommend this property whoâs looking for simplicity, coziness, and convenience.
This cottage was beautifully decorated and the inside was well maintained. The deck, and back stairway and driveway was not thoroughly landscaped and there were scattered leaves and tree debris that made it somewhat uncomfortable to enjoy the deck area. There was also no cable and only basic channels on the TV. It is well situated and in a convenient location and close to parks, restaurants and convenience stores. Despite the inconveniences I mentioned, I would definitely consider another stay on my next visit to Spring Lake/Grand Haven.
Loved our stay in Spring Lake, with easy access to larger Grand Haven but enough great options nearby to not make crossing the bridge a nightly necessity.
Cottage was cute and comfortable for our family of five (two adults, one 7 year old who took the top bunk and twin 3 year olds who shared the bottom, full size bed). Kitchen was well equipped to make multiple meals (only request would be a colander for straining/rinsing) and patio area was a perfect hang out while grilling.
View of the local Uhaul location wasnât as pretty as the lake of course but just a few houses down we caught a glimpse of the water and the kind neighbor let our kids stick their toes in the sand.
Loved quaint and quiet Spring Lake Beach, the free Trolley system to tour both towns and addictive pretzels from Village Baker. Fuel and Grand Finale were other great, walkable spots for meals and the Spring Lake Splash Pad next to the weekly farmers market was a fast favorite, as was Whistle Stop Park perfectly placed on the paved path (great for walking/running, biking and scootering).
We hope to be back soon!
Property was fine, though, needs new driveway/parking- due to badly broken concrete. Unfortunately, we got locked-out of cottage first night. Owner responded at ~9 p.m., but DID NOT have a key to allow access to the property, front- or back-doors, after all of our belongings were stored inside. We were told that a locksmith could get us into rental the next morning, which happened at ~10 a.m. on 7/15. As a result, we were forced to get local overnight accommodations at the Holiday Inn (HL) at $320/night (receipt available).
In addition, my daughter had an infestation of Bed-bugs, as indicated by "bites" on her leg, obviously from spending time on the front porch or her bed. The owner was personally advised of this on Mon.
I've been waiting for Mr. Peterson to offer a refund for at least the one-night we were unable to access, and perhaps the HL-stay also, which would be the right-thing-to-do, but have not had a response from him, to date. Would definitely like a refund, for at least $500.
