Landlord is very good with communication. Location is prime for biking or walking to Grand Haven shops and waterfront. The A/C really worked well. Loads of extra blankets and beach chairs. Well stocked kitchen. Good experience.
Perfect location and easy walk into town. Any time we had a question, she replied very quickly and was very nice. We had everything we needes there and a nice yard for a fire and smores. The only complaint might be that the beds weren't very comfortable. But I would still stay there again if we go back. We had a great time.
Itâs not the Ritz, but we didnât expect the Ritz. We expected a clean place to stay close to town with basic amenities. Thatâs what we got. 5 min walk for your morning coffee, 10 min walk to marina and another 5 to shops and restaurants. Canât beat the location and property for the price.
Good value for the price. It was kind of small and cramped, but we didn't need much room mainly a place to sleep, shower and a refrigerator. The hosts, however, were outstanding. So much so, that I wish my review was more glowing and positive.
Great location, super close to downtown & beach. Short walk to both. We had brought everything we needed but such a nice bonus they provide beach chairs & towels if u need them. I love having a full size fridge and being able to do laundry. The driveway easily fit our 2 cars with plenty of room to spare. We brought a cot to sleep our 7th person so we didnât have to use the pull out sofa, which would have blocked 2 bedrooms from the bathrooms like others have said. Never felt cramped, but we spent most of our time outdoors and were only at the house to shower & sleep. Way better than staying at a hotel.
Dirty everywhere. Dishes, silverware, cups had to be washed. They were pot away with food on them. The sheets and pillows were of the lowest quality. Sewer gas smell and mold smell permeated the house. The oven had never been cleaned. Only 3 of the 4 elements on the stove worked. The bottoms of the "non-stick" cookware were scraped off. The pots and pans were greasy. There was one dresser in one bedroom that had dirt in the drawers. There were no closing closets. Just metal shelving units were nailed in what should have been closet space. The kitchen floor is starting to come up and the vents are bent on the floor. My husband and grandson tripped and almost fell because of this. The ceiling over the shower looks like it's ready to fall. There is no ventilation in the bathroom. We couldn't open the window because of the ants that were already coming through in the bathroom due to the rotting window sill. It was disgusting and I feel money should be returned to me for the lies stated about this house. My granddaughter and I took pictures to show proof. The outside of the house with rotting window sills and mold in the back is just another example of this house that should be condemned.
We decided last minute to get away for the weekend and this was the perfect spot. Close to downtown, the lake and restaurants. Cottage is clean, comfortable and cozy. Had a wonderful time. Thank you!!!
Location couldn't be beat, it was near everything yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle closer to the beach and downtown. We did not walk to the beach (about 35 min walk) due to little ones with us, but it was an easy 5 minute drive. The home itself is small, with two small beds upstairs in the finished attic. The stairwell is narrow and steep, so only our 9 year old daughter went up there a few times to hang out but slept downstairs with us in the 2 main bedrooms. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we will be back! It was a perfect family getaway!
An affordable house in a great town and within a mile of the beach. We enjoyed the walk along the river to the beach several times. Small stairs to the two single beds upstairs, not recommended for the elderly. Overall clean house and wonderful backyard with fire pit. A smaller house with limited seating for dinner over four people at one table, bit it worked.
Positives: This property was a very close walk to the downtown area. The beach was also very close and the beach itself would make me go back, just gorgeous. Lisa was very accommodating and responded promptly. Negatives: The property itself was just dirty.. behind the beds was full of cob webs and dirt. One of the bathroom toilets leaked considerably the entire trip, so we were constantly using the towels provided to sop up puddles. The floors were falling apart. The kitchen was fine and it was nice to have a full fridge and stove/oven. The upstairs was air conditioned but there were no doors on either of the bedrooms, just a short curtain. Outside negatives: We used the grill one night for hotdogs and immediately ran out of propane. Thereâs a firepit with no firewood provided. There was poison ivy in the backyard and a rusted old trailer and boat which didnât make it convenient for our children running around. I understand that Michigan vacation rentals are well used and high traffic properties, but for as much money as places like this charge, put some updates into it. Michigan summers are so beautiful and itâs a shame that you get robbed for the amenities that you actually get.. unfortunately we will probably venture out of the state for now on as we always seem to get burned by overpriced Michigan vacation rentals.
This was a great rental. The property manager answered all emails and texts promptly. The house was in walking distance to delicious restaurants and fun shopping. We enjoyed the short drive to the beach at the state park. Beach chairs and beach towels were available at the house. Thanks for a Grand time!
Lisa (homeowner) was super easy to work with and very accommodating. She quickly responded & made the visit simple. She did not even ask us to clean anything before we left- she was very hospitable. The house was quaint & nicely decorated and within walking distance to everything!
We enjoyed our stay at the house - it was a great location, making walks to downtown and the water a cinch! Easy access to the nearby supermarkets and pharmacies as well for groceries and food supplies. The house itself was cozy and comfortable - the kids loved hiding up in the attic room to play their games. The adults enjoyed hanging in the kitchen or in the backyard. Would come back again!
Great location, super cute house, better for 6 guests
The house is within walking distance of many things. The decor is very cute and the 1.5 baths have been updated. Theyâve done a good job making a small older home look adorable. The owner is helpful and quickly responsive. The only negative is that the house is better suited for 6 guests rather than 8. Sleeping spots 7 and 8 are on a pullout couch, which isnât a problem in and of itself (and was in fact disclosed I think). The only problem is that the pullout bed blocks the downstairs 2 bedrooms from both bathrooms at night. Depending on how much the family needs a bathroom at night, this would be a problem, particularly if traveling with an elderly person. Other than that, we were very happy.
This is a great vacation rental in a prime location. The house is close to downtown so you can easily walk to restaurants, the boardwalk, and the farmer's market. The house was stocked with linens and towels and the property owners even provided firewood for the outside fire ring. One thing to note is that we did have 8 adults staying here and it was a little tight. The 7th and 8th sleeping spots were a pull-out sofa in a high traffic area so we didn't make use of it. But we made do and all in all it was a wonderful vacation!
