This was an absolutely charming place! The owners have really invested in this 100 year old property. They added modern amenities while keeping to the uniqueness of the building.
The upper suite is nice and can hold a lot of people. The WiFi is very slow. Roof work was being done while we were there (we were not informed) and it was quite loud.
We enjoyed our stay. The location was great and easy to get to all Seattleâs touristy places as well as U W. We were there for a graduation and weâre just a few minutes away.
We loved our stay here, it was close to the bus and easy to get to all the things we wanted to see in Seattle. The accommodations were great. We loved how close it was to the Rose garden and morning walks to Green Lake.
Everything about this property was awesome !
Location, ease of accessibility, everything we needed for our week long trip!
The house was clean and very cozy even with cold and damp and wet every day.
We will stay there next trip !
this house was perfect for our first trip to Seattle, short trip to down town and lots of restaurants and pubs close by. would definitely stay here again
The house was actually larger and nicer than I expected. And quiet, which was definitely a plus. Despite appearing like it was in the suburbs, it's actually a short walk from grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants, plus a longer walk to the lake area with more of them. Not sure if we're returning to the area again, but I'd definitely look to see if this apartment was available.
Perfect location for anything you would like to do. Quick access to public transportation, ample on-street parking if you have your own vehicle, walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores. Loved the direct route to the city.
We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The owners were easy to communicate with and responsive.
Neat, quirky home built in the 1920âs with a view of the mountains from the kitchen on a clear day.
Was a great location for getting around and within walking distance to the neat restaurants on Fremont street as well as the zoo and rose garden.
Lots of street parking.
Know they are working on an outdoor area which would be great for the days that the sun pokes through.
Overall great place to stay.
There is a lot to love about this place. It's clean and in good condition. It's nicely decorated and has lots of space. The neighborhood is great. Parking is so-so and the wifi was very slow, but the only significant problem we had was that the bed was super uncomfortable. Way too firm for both of us. It was so bad that we checked out the next day and went to a hotel, even though that meant paying double for the rest of our trip.
Very lovely home with lots of character. The location was very convenient to be away from the bustling parts of the city, yet just a quick bus ride to the downtown attractions. Street parking was always available. Hosts were friendly. Make note there is no air conditioning, so it is very warm being the upstairs suite and unfortunately we were here during a heat wave. The host does provide fans and tips for keeping it as cool as possible. We would definitely stay again, but maybe not during the height of summer.
Booked for 4 days to spend time with family in town. Suite had clearly not been cleaned meaningfully since prior guests (food on the ground, leftover coffee, dirty sheets). The unit is not up to code (knee-high railings over stairs, no clear CO detector, furniture in various states of disrepair) and generally feels quite tired. It is in a great location in Fremont, with good access to Woodland Park and local food options. Host was responsive, but often challenging to understand. Upon arrival, gas stovetop had been left on, making the whole apartment unlivable and requiring significant ventilation, which host did not take seriously.
Cute place to stay, and has easy access to get to and from anywhere in Seattle. Parking at times was always a mystery, but we never parked too far from the residence. The only problem we had was getting the tv to work but that was really no problem at all. Talked to the owner the night before we left ( she lives on-site) and mentioned the tv issue. Definitely, the next time the family goes to Seattle, this is going to be the first place I will check to see if it is available.
The suite has been modernized and is both functional and comfortable. Location was convenient, just outside city center, with restaurants, stores within walking distance.
A number of the appointments (shelves, homemade headboard) were not of the finest quality, but everything worked. The noise rules (eg. "don't bang suitcases against stairs on your way up") are stringent because of the old house with no sound insulation and multiple occupants. Probably impossible to comply if you have kids.
We stayed two weeks in the upstairs suite of this lovely home in Fremont. It is located in a very convenient area with very reasonable rates for the area. The upgraded bathroom and kitchen are very nice.
The unit however, could have been cleaner, and we were quite surprised that a number of simple maintenance items had not been addressed prior to our arrival.
The upstairs suite requires you to climb 14 narrow steps to enter the unit, and climb an additional 13 narrow steps to enter the loft. We had no trouble negotiating the steps, but something to be noted.
If you like to walk, Woodland Park, Woodland Zoo, Green Lake, a local grocery store, and downtown Fremont are easily reached on foot.
We rented a car and had no issues finding parking spots on the street.
I shared our concerns with the owners, they thanked us for the input, and advised us they plan to address the issues.
My husband, adult kid and I had a great visit with our other kid while staying here, and would definitely stay again. We stayed in the upstairs unit which was very nice and which had a variety of possible sleeping arrangements - a bedroom on the main floor, a living room area that included a Murphy bed, and a loft space over the kitchen that could sleep two. It is pretty open plan, and what doors there are that close off spaces are glass, so plan accordingly. Furnishings are modern and comfortable and well chosen for the space. The bathroom is narrow but still has a good sized shower and a small washer/dryer tucked in next to the door. The hosts requested quiet hours from 10 pm to 9 am, and there were no issues with noise while we were there. There are excellent bars, restaurants and a drugstore a short walk away, as well as a nearby market. We werenât driving so I canât be very helpful about parking, but there seemed to always be a space nearby when I thought to look. We did have an easy time catching a bus or Lyft to anywhere we wanted to go from this location as we werenât driving ourselves. So, all in all, it was a great choice for us, and I would recommend it!
Property is in need of updating & TLC and a proper cleaning. Fridge had pizza in from prior guest, meaning it wasn't cleaned, counter had coffee stains & debris, dishes looked they may have been rinsed and put away, washed 2 of everything & used those during the stay, no tea towel or wash cloth for kitchen.Kitchen floor hadn't been swept. Washroom wasn't very clean, cleaned ourselves to feel some better while using, shower curtain doesn't looked it had been washed in months, towels are in need of replacement, we washed what we needed to use. Bed linen and pillows are old and need to be replaced.
The owner did send someone to clean fridge, counter and floor, didn't do a very good job. The owner said he hadn't been in the unit in 2 years since having a stroke. outside at the front on grass boulevard grass and dirt had been removed down about 6 inches, had to walk through to get to get into the premises, a utility trailer full of junk covered is in this area, I'm sure this hasn't moved in a very long time by the condition and flat tire. great first impression.
We purchased this 6 bedroom 1925 stately home to owner occupy the north half and renovate the south half for guests after 93 years of rental use. Our goal has been to restore its original grandness. We set about our creation of 3 three suites with the popular wall bed studio was first. Then we turned to the upper bay window suite and most recently completed the main floor Bay Window suite
Great close in to town location. Nice neighborhood Market with good deli 3 blocks, Mexican across the street, Greenlake's three mile run/walk around it.
