Very comfortable, well appointed and beautifully decorated home in a quiet neighborhood. I savored every minute of my visit, and found the pergola covered back porch to be my favorite spot for visiting, eating, and quiet moments of reflection. I highly recommend Nest on Locust.
Beautifully decorated home with a great patio and beautiful view. All the comforts of home in an excellent location convenient to downtown and UVA. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely rebook the next time we are in Cville!
Gorgeous home; tastefully decorated, immaculate, cozy yet spacious. We loved our visit and spent quite a bit of time on the deck. We thought it would be closer to the downtown mall, but it was in a lovely neighborhood. Delightful visit. Would absolutely stay here again.
Beautifully decorated home in a great location with a wonderful back deck. The attention to detail was top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will return! Thanks!
It was a good location. Had no idea we were renting a property that was owner occupied when not rented. Food in the fridge. Dog meds in the drawer. Trash half full. Stepped on an artificial nail in the bathroom. Skimpy on towels. No coffee. No shower in the primary bath.
Great place, easy to access local points of interest
The only hiccups was having to wait for an hour to get access to the house- no key left in the key box. Rainy and cold, so that sucked to wait in. Other than that, house was cute, had good amenities, good proximity to local points of interest. Up and coming town, but not a ton to do otherwise. Hiking trails took 40 minutes to get to from this rental.
We spent a wonderful 10 days on Locust Avenue. It is a case of the property being better than the photographs. A happy surprise was the lovely large back deck area and the beautiful soothing view out to the back neighborhood commons. We ended up spending a lot of time there, from coffee in the morning through after dinner drinks in the evening. It was so peaceful! As a previous reviewer mentioned, staying there was like spending time in a friendâs house so that there were a few things to initially get used to, like the reversed hot/cold in the kitchen. For us, we much preferred what was more reminiscent of a luxurious B & B than an anonymous chain rental. A final plus was the location; it was close to 250 for easy access to anywhere in Charlottesville and at the same time a very pleasant walk past all the beautiful houses along Locust Avenueâs ridge to the restaurants and shops in the historic part of town. Communication with the host was terrific and the house was in perfect shape when we arrived.
Our family and I had the fantastic opportunity to stay at the Nest on Locust during spring break. The property is immaculate and includes all of the amenities that you may need and more! The Nest is also situated in a quiet area, but also a mile (or less) from the mall in Charlottesville. There is also plenty of open outdoor space to enjoy and to wind down after a day of sightseeing, shopping, eating, etc.
We absolutely loved this house! The house was immaculate, maybe the cleanest rental/hotel Iâve stayed in. We loved the eclectic/traditional interior decorating. The porch and backyard are lovely. We will definitely book again the next time we are in Charlottesville!
We really wanted to enjoy our stay at this property. It is a great location with a beautiful yard and a short drive to campus, which was great since we were in VA visiting our son at UVA. Unfortunately, as soon as we arrived, we found so much hair in the master bathroom - all over the floor, in the sink, in the laundry room closet. It was overwhelmingly disgusting. We were also very disappointed in the fact that there was no hot water in the kitchen sink, the ONE coffee filter supplied was not the correct match for the coffee pot available, but that didnât matter because the coffee pot was completely broken and not usable, there was NO detergent offered for the washer and dryer (traveling from out of state, we do not travel with detergent. A few pods would have been a wonderful gesture for guests.), there are no closets available to hang clothing (they are all locked), the kitchen is way too over-stocked with service ware, but not the essentials for basic meal preparation, but it didnât matter since there was NO HOT WATER in the kitchen sink. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and the one shower worked well. Our guess is this is someoneâs home and they move out when the property rents. The fridge is full of someoneâs food. I wish we knew this when we agreed to rent this property because we would have not stayed here. We prefer not to rent homes that are lived in - itâs a weird vibe and way to personal (all the family photos were a bit creepy). Again, we really wanted to enjoy this rental, but we will not be returning to it on our next UVA visit. Overall, it was very disappointing.
We had a fantastic reunions weekend at âThe Nest on Locustâ June 2-5. What a great home for entertaining! We had a small group of alumni friends over before heading over to the Lawn, and it was beautifully set up for indoor and outdoor gatherings. The kitchen was well-appointed and the front drive/hedge and
backyard create a very peaceful retreat with nice proximity to the downtown mall and the Lawn.
Loved, loved the house. We were very comfortable with our stay there. We enjoyed the deck and the beautiful scenery in the back. We think there about 4 calm deer living around the house next door, so, that was a treat to see that in the middle of the city.
Also, loved the morning sun streaming through the windows and the beautiful, unique decor!

The property was both elegant and restful, filled with art and artifacts that were healing and uplifting. From the moment you enter the front door, you see a replica of Nike, "Winged Victory" from the Louvre. The "chef's kitchen" not only had all the appliances we could possibly use, there were "kindness" messages and a beautiful canvas of Themis, the goddess of justice. Healing crystals, Quan Yin sculptures, and soft textures all welcomed us into the property. It is, in short, unlike any other rental property you will find...filled with care and an extraordinary vision for well-being. It was a privilege being there. The only minor concern was the sharp turn in and out of the driveway. First time visitors might run over those curbs....but all in all, it is a wonderful place to stay. excellent and helpful
We enjoyed the house and our stay in Charlottesville.
We enjoyed the house and our stay in Charlottesville. A few observations for consideration:
- Make sure capitalization is accurate for WiFi passwords.
- The house had no pancake turner making breakfast and other cooking a challenge. Easy fix.
- Beds, both rooms, were uncomfortable. They looked like fancy mattresses but neither couple was comfortable.
Look forward to our next trip to C-ville.
The house and amenities were very nice. The patio was particularly attractive. Great place for a weekend stay.
Just a couple of issuesârecommend cleaning out the fireplace before guests stay. There was a lot ash that left a musty smell in the house.
Also recommend letting guests know that the owner has a dog. A couple of us have allergies and it would have been good to know beforehand (though the house was very clean). The Staycharlotte team was very helpful. Great customer service.

Very comfortable home, nice kitchen, walkable neighborhood with sidewalks, walkable to downtown, easy parking, very nice deck and yard. Looking forward to staying in warmer weather when I can really enjoy the deck and yard. Everyone I spoke with at Stay Charlottesville was very helpful. I had the most interaction with Kate and she was very helpful with making our reservation and throughout our stay. Thank you!
My experience with staycharlottesville staff was a decidedly mixed experience.
My experience with staycharlottesville staff was a decidedly mixed experience. The initial reservation experience was fine and went smoothly, but a week before we were to arrive I suddenly received an email that the property was not available for the time we had booked. Following a flurry of emails and several phone calls, it was determined that the property was, in fact, available for the previously-booked dates, and that the staff had mistakenly thought our booking was for a month later than it was (July rather than June). Before the mistake was recognized, unnecessary time was wasted and anxiety levels raised.
One of the highlights of this home is the outdoor area.
One of the highlights of this home is the outdoor area. The back deck is accessible through the living room and side room's sliding doors, and there is a sliding screen to put in place to avoid an irritant fly from coming into the house. On the back deck are several chairs and a large table to dine, as well as a shaded area for resting on a serene hammock. How nice it was for me and my family to wake up in the morning and enjoy a cup a coffee outside while gazing at the beautiful yard, flowers, and full trees, as well as sitting out there in the evening with a glass of wine and actually talking and conversing with each other instead of hearing the noise of the TV. Sarah Beasley was a phenomenal asset to our wedding. She helped me out tremendously with a "meet and greet" event on the day prior to the wedding. Sarah worked tirelessly, and was a great communicator....sending me e-mails with updates, clarifications, ideas, bullet points, etc. I could not have pulled this event off without the help of Sarah. She was always so pleasant and kind....the perfect person I needed to have around so that I could not worry about the details.
We enjoyed a quick weekend away in Charlottesville. The house is in a great location and very clean. The back porch and yard were a highlight of the property. We would definitely recommend.

The house is charming and cozy - I wish I owned it! The back porch seating is super accommodating and the view of the grove is so relaxing and beautiful! I had a nice run from there, and the neighborhood is nice for walking, but it is not short-walkable to commercial areas. Its about a mile to the downtown mall.
Wonderful as always.

Beautifully decorated, great back yard and porch. Master bath does not have a shower. The space was super comfortable and felt like home. Never verbally communicated but we kept apprised of check in procedures and other items via e-mail. No problems and very thorough. The house is hidden from street view behind a row of hedges and the house number is not visible from the street.
