La Maison recyclé - Marche Downtown

La Maison recyclĂ© est une structure unique dans la belle du Nord Downtown quartier de Charlottesville. Il est construit principalement Ă  partir de matĂ©riaux qui sont venus d'ailleurs et obtiennent une seconde vie. Il a fallu plus de six ans pour recueillir les matĂ©riaux et de les utiliser d'une maniĂšre rĂ©flĂ©chie. La maison a Ă©tĂ© conçu comme une maison d'hĂŽtes et beaucoup d'efforts ont Ă©tĂ© mis dans la construction d'un lieu qui est accueillant, intĂ©ressant et amusant! Les matĂ©riaux donnent Ă  ce lieu beaucoup d'Ăąme, la lumiĂšre provenant des fenĂȘtres 33 est fantastique et l'emplacement ne pouvait pas ĂȘtre mieux!

Le centre-ville historique de Charlottesville, à seulement 4 pùtés de maisons de l'hÎtel, vous donne accÚs à plus de 60 restaurants, cinémas, salles de concert, épiceries et magasins, à quelques minutes à pied. L'Université de Virginie est à moins de 2 miles de distance et accessible par le service de chariot libre. Monticello est à moins de 5 miles de distance - environ 10 minutes en voiture.

La maison recyclée peut accueillir 6 personnes. Il ya un lit king-size dans la chambre principale. La mezzanine dispose d'un canapé-lit qui peut accueillir deux personnes, et il ya un canapé-lit queen-size en bas, dans la salle de séjour. Les canapés-lits sont trÚs confortables. Tous les draps sont doux et les serviettes sont moelleuses. Il y a une demi-salle de bain en bas et une salle de bain complÚte à l'étage.

La cuisine est entiÚrement équipée avec des appareils haut de gamme Bosch. Il y a un porche latéral, une terrasse à l'étage avec une sensation de cabane dans les arbres et une autre terrasse de la cuisine dans la cour arriÚre.

Une laveuse / sécheuse est disponible au large de la salle de bains principale.

Gratuit l'accĂšs wi-fi est disponible.

La maison est idéale pour les familles avec enfants. L'escalier est un peu raide, de sorte que vous aurez à regarder les petits.

House was very unique and I had a wonderful stay. House is conveniently close to the downtown mall. Lots of sunlight in all rooms. Furnishings were up-to-date. Bathrooms were large and clean. Really appreciated the fully stocked kitchen with foil, ziploc bags and everything you might need. Chocolate chip cookies left by the owner were delicious! Communication with the owner Debra was always prompt. I enjoyed the house tour and walk through so I knew where everything was. The listing does mention that the stairs are steep and yes they were. The full bath is upstairs so if you are older or have knee problems please take this into consideration.

Everything about this house was wonderful! The Beams, windows, trim and other pieces of recycled material were perfectly placed and visually awesome! We were always discovering another treasure! The house is charming and visually interesting. It was only a short walk to the downtown walk area so it was nice to not have to worry about the car for a few days. 4 adults slept very comfortably in the space. The stairs to the upstairs portion was a little steep for those who have limited mobility.

Debra is the quintessential hostess, eager to give us the history and background of her unique property, but also very helpful with a dentist recommendation when my wife lost a filling. The house is filled with charm, comfy, and welcoming. A well stocked kitchen and bathroom areas with all the little incidentals. A short walk to downtown. We would definitely return.

We loved the recycled house and Debra was such an amazing host! We loved seeing all of the creative touches and ways that recycled parts were used to make a unique and beautiful rental. The house was comfortable and bigger than I expected. Our two boys slept on the pull out couch in the loft area, which was surprisingly comfortable. The loft area is open to the downstairs so that is important to know if you are traveling with kids that are light sleepers (ours are not, so it wasn't an issue). The location is an easy walk to the downtown area. I would highly recommend the Recycled House!

A lovely stay in a great neighborhood!

Debra was a fantastic host - it's so refreshing to stay at a property not run by a management company! Debra welcomed us with a tour of the unique house she's built, delicious chocolate chip cookies, and freshly ground local coffee. The location is great - four easy blocks to walk to the Downtown Mall, but a quiet neighborhood. The second living room space is a loft area across from the master bedroom suite on the second floor.

A real gem!

I’ve never stayed at a more interesting accommodation anywhere. The place is truly unique and is a clean, well run, enjoyable experience. Debra was attentive from the get go when she met and walked us through this very interesting property. The place is well equipped, comfortable and I recommend it to anyone looking for an accommodation a few short blocks walk to the town center where you will find restaurants, entertainment, shops galore. So glad I found this gem!

Perfect location - artsy and interesting home

The house is such an interesting accomplishment of art and design, while also being comfortable. The extra touch of coffee and cookies was nice and the host was responsive. It is tucked in a quiet neighborhood yet a very short (and safe) walk to the downtown mall. That’s exactly what we were looking for.. we look forward to returning.

Great location and host!

Debra is a most excellent host! She has lots of tips about local restaurants and attractions. The location of the Recycled House is great: just blocks from the downtown outdoor mall where we ate most meals. The house is charming, cozy and comfortable and Debra went out of her way to be sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Unique and Well-Appointed House!

The Recycled House is a wonderful choice if you’re looking for a comfortable and unique house in Charlottesville. The materials and construction methods that Debra used are unlike any other. Easy walk to the Downtown Mall. Experience everything Charlottesville has to offer on foot or within less than 10 minutes’ drive!

The Recycled House is amazing and Debra is an absolute pleasure! We really enjoyed her tour and listening to the backstory of the house. The location is convenient to walking to shops and restaurants and a quick Uber to local vineyards. Look forward to coming back.

Great Stay in Recycled House

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights during our daughter's wedding in Charlottesville, and it was perfect for us. Debra met us upon check-in and gave us a great tour of her amazingly unique property. Spotlessly clean, well-equipped and very cozy, the home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is a convenient 5 minute walk to the mall and all that it offers. One of the best VRBO properties we have ever stayed in. Debra, thank you for building a home with such character and sharing it with others!

I'm a web designer/developer and own my firm, drw Design. The Recycled House started out as a small idea and then took on a life of its own.

I've lived in Charlottesville since 1995 and love showing off this town! It's really hard to have a bad meal here. And it's really historic and pretty. There's always something interesting going on!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

It took over 6 years to collect materials from a TON of places to use in/on the house. It's been really satisfying to save amazing materials from the landfill, dumpster, etc. and use them in a thoughtful and creative way. I'll give you the tour when you come show you where everything came from. Most folks get a real kick out of it.

The Recycled House is quite special and if you want to be downtown, the location is fantastic.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The Recycled House was designed from the beginning as a guest house. It's very welcoming. People tell me it's really romantic. I have hosted a lot of families, girlfriend getaways, bridal parties, folks coming for reunions and sporting events at UVA and all the festivals that go on here in Charlottesville.

Just about everyone says the photos don't do justice to the place. You just have to come and stay and see it for yourself!
