I felt guilty still traveling during the pandemic , but the wedding I was going to Hawaii for was still happening. Barbara was extremely accommodating and I was happy that she was still able to open up this studio to me. It was exactly as advertised and a nice, cozy place to hole up in while I was doing my best to practice social distancing. I hope that I can come back again under better circumstances!
Perfect fit for my needs or anyone looking for a quiet spot to retreat to after a busy fun day.
I have been visiting Oahu for 3 decades and have stayed at every price point and level of accommodation. This was the best value since there are no neighbors or other guests to deal with. Although Barbara is very helpful and always available, she leads an active life and you won't even hear her. I stayed there alone but could have easily stayed with my wife since the Studio is larger than it looks online. The bathroom is modern and completely private. There's a private deck behind the studio and large yard with a country view of the area farms and distant mountains. I parked my rental car in front of the house which is empty except during school hours. The house is 10 minutes from many famous surf breaks and 5 minutes into Haleiwa Town. I used the full size refrigerator, French press coffee maker, microwave and toaster oven but there was a hot plate if needed. No need to pack towels or buy lotion, soap, sunscreen etc. until you see what's been left or donated. I just got home today, after 12 nights and this was my experience. TJ
This was the perfect spot for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to get back. Quiet, beautiful, serene, safe. Easy commute to Honolulu for the City life and super close to all the North Shore beaches. Barbara is a terrific host. She was flexible with our check out time and made available brand new snorkel gear, boogie boards, towels - everything we needed for the perfect day on the beach. Barbara is quick to respond to any and all of your questions. Thank you so much!
Hi, I'm your host Barbara. I love Hawaii and all the culture and beauty it has to offer. Arriving here in 1995 with two suit cases, once I snorkeled, enjoying the incredible fish friends, there was no returning to suburbia for me. The North Shore has so much aloha to offer. Take the time to learn the history of our area, taste the diverse fruits of the region, watch a sunset each night of your trip! Return home refreshed, rejuvenated and inspired. Traveling is such a gift.
This property is private, secure and surrounded with trees, chirping birds and farm land. Wake to a view from your bed of a rising sun. Minutes to downtown Haleiwa and many surf spots for all skill levels.
