Perhaps you did not fully realize the kind of place where you were staying. Palazzo Altieri is a magnificent 17th-century historic palace, with centuries of history and architecture behind it. The walk from the elevator to the apartment, through its historic corridors and steps, is precisely one of the elements that makes staying in such a unique building so atmospheric and special. We understand that it may not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties, but this is an inherent characteristic of a historic palace rather than a defect of the accommodation. As for the stairs leading to the sleeping area, the apartment is explicitly described and advertised as a loft. By definition, a loft has a raised area, and the staircase is clearly visible in the photographs provided with the listing. We therefore encourage guests to carefully consider the description and photos before booking. We hope that, despite these points, you were able to appreciate the unique setting and the exceptional convenience of our location in the heart of Rome.

When you booked this property, you were aware—or should have been after reading the listing—that it is an attic loft. By definition, a loft is an open-plan top-floor apartment, and attic spaces are naturally warmer in summer because they are directly beneath the roof, where heat accumulates. The apartment is equipped with air conditioning, and clear, step-by-step operating instructions are provided in the Welcome Book inside the apartment to help guests use the system correctly. As for the notices displayed in the apartment, they are simply friendly reminders of basic courtesy and good practices. After more than 10 years of hosting, we have found that these reminders are sometimes necessary, as not all guests treat holiday homes with the same care and respect. They are not intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable, but only to help preserve the apartment and ensure a pleasant stay for everyone.
