This was a spacious central apartment for seven middle aged friends to spend our annual get together. Very centrally located close to the Parte Vieja (Old town/ quarter) and La Concha Beach. The apartment was on the 4th floor and comprised of 5 large bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Spotlessly clean and excellently equipped. It was easy to find: opposite Alderdi Eder Park and with wonderful views of the bay and Monte Urgull. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, although it is an expensive apartment it was well worth it for the facilities and amazing location.
No AC in the midst of heat wave. Cooled off outside at night but (1) the walls retain the heat of the day, thus hot even with the windows open, and (2) you have to open the windows but the street noise, people constantly shouting, continues until 3 a.m. (exception Monday night). We tried to find other places to stay, and simply abandon the apartment, but there was nowhere else for a family of four. One couple did find a small room in a hotel nearby and moved to it. Nancy and I managed to find a small room in another hotel, but decided to remain with our daughter and her family. We tried to buy a floor fan but couldn't find one. As far as I could tell, the W/D machines exhaust inside, adding further heat. We were OK the final night, miserable the others.
Stay was overall GREAT! A few issues, poor communication leading up to the rental, emails went unanswered for weeksâŠcheck in was easyâŠshowering in the back bedroom is challenging as water gets everywhere there is no enclosure of any sort. The toilet seat in the back bathroom was broken and the toilet in another bedroom was shooting water out the back. The coffee maker is extremely little and several pots need to be made for a larger group, we had 6 people staying. The door buzzer stopped working day two so that was challenging with only two sets of keysâŠ.Location location location could not be better. We will be back!!!
We had 3 couples and one single. space was perfect for privacy as well as spending time together in the living room and dining room. beautiful views, very comfortable
After overcoming a few hiccups with the check-in process and online payments we settled in and had a great time together. The location of this apartment is perfect for Donostia! Everything you want is a short walk away. We had plenty of space for all 7 of us and the common areas were spacious and scenic. Overall this was a great find and worth the price.
Great location, good overall set-up and the path to five stars
The location is first rate. The apartment is a couple of minutesâ walk from La Concha beach, five minutesâ walk from the Old Town and close to the La Perla spa, the San Telmo museum, and the aquarium. You should expect some noise at night but I can't see how you can be in a spot like this without the odd disturbance. The apartment's overall set-up is good and there is loads of space. The views to the front are fantastic and, with the living room and kitchen windows open, there is often a wonderful breeze off the sea. The bedrooms are spacious with good bathrooms. However, the bedroom windows face windows opposite which means you need to have the shutters down to keep privacy and therefore the rooms can get uncomfortably hot. At minimum, we could have done with fans but for this price I would have expected air con., at least in the bedrooms. Lesser irritants were the absence of bins, there was only one for the whole apartment; and the TV, which included a rather ancient projector rather than a screen. A conventional, modern TV to which we could hook up laptops would have been good. One which had access to the internet and apps, even better. We're not TV obsessed but when we were in another San Se apartment last year, easy access to Netflix, for example, was a bonus. In summary, address the non-air con. issues, it's probably four stars, add in air con and it's probably five.
