Studio in Akrotiri, Chania, at the western part of Crete Island. 15 minutes away from old city of Chania, the sea and the most beautifull beaches in the area, 10 minutes from the airport, as well as port of Souda and the National Road. It's ideal for quite, summer and winter holidays for couples, friends or families. A compeletely equiped, separate appartment, which is a part of a bigger house offers joy, peace and quite, as well as a wonderful view.
It is a studio of 50 sqm, fully equipped in a modern style, yet in direct contact and harmony with the nature around it. Situated on the eastern side of a larger home where our family lives, on a private plot of 4 acres full of olive trees and pine trees, shrubs, herbs and wildflowers of local flora and with a splendid view of the Souda bay and the mountain range of the White Mountains.All around, the tweets of birds and the hum of cicadas is heard.
To get to the apartment, you pass through a private 70-meter alley that leads to a large park (shared), cross the courtyard of the central residence from where a small stone staircase leads to the entrance.
The appartment is dominated by the element of natural wood. Basic furniture were designed and constructed with love and taste in hand, while some vintage pieces of special beauty are distinguished, such as the desk and two mirrors of the bedroom and bathroom, the 40's radio and the old sewing machine.The apartment is designed for people who love nature as it is located next to the rock garden, which is a small botanical garden and is shaded by large pine trees. Already in the entrance of the apartment awaits visitors a "rural" corner, with gardening tools for those who want to spend some time soaking in the garden and learning from the owner the uses and qualities of Cretan herbs.
A traditional Cretan treat is welcoming you while the home is equipped with everything that includes a full house as well as everything you may need for your personal care. A full kitchen with filter and espresso coffee makers, a desk to touch your laptop, a comfortable living room and a double handmade bed, dominating the highest level of the house, from which one can enjoy day and night the stunning sea and mountain view from the large windows.The view is even better than the balcony of the studio, which "sees" also towards the rock garden and the small pine forest. From here, you can watch the most beautiful sunrise: You'll have to sucrifice your lie-in, but it will be unforgettable!
Around the house a natural cretan landscape awaits you, a rich in flaura and fauna biotope.You can walk at a natural rock garden at the east, or at the olive grove at the south, or enjoy the breathtaking view from the top of the rock at the north.
Our neighborhood consists of houses which are inhabitted by families, in areas of 4 acres full of olive trees. The place where we are located (Akrotiri), is well known for its exceptional climate, its magical beaches, the change of sceneries,and some of the most important religious monuments in Crete.
We strongly reccomend you to rent a car if you want to gain time for sight seeing. We are connected to Chania, Souda port, the airport and the highway that communicates with the rest of Crete, by two roads 5-7 km. The airport is about 10 minutes away, Chania city 15-20 minutes depending on the traffic and Souda port about 10 minutes. Nearest clean, sandy beach is at 5 km, about 10 minutes by car.
