This wonderful tucked away, cozy cabin is wonderful for a couple exploring north Georgia...Raymond and Ric are wonderful host and were always there if we needed...Blairsville and Blue Ridge are close by as well as vineyards and waterfalls to enjoy
The hosts are wonderfully welcoming and communicative. The property is lovingly manicured respite from the world. We loved our stay at the cottage...HOOOO HOOO wouldn't? You'll see what I mean. Thanks R&R for the R&R!
Nice cabin, clean and well stocked. But there was not sufficient room for me to navigate my size 15 shoes in and around all the stuff. We chose to not stay the second night.
This little cabin was just what we needed. We traveled to the area for a family wedding and, while our schedule was erratic, we found the place a very pleasant respite and welcoming at all hours. You have to understand that rural Georgia is going to have some gravel accesses and obscure connectors but that is part of the appeal. If you use GPS, I would recommend Google or Apple Maps as WAZE seems to think it is okay for automobiles to access the Appalachian Trail.
The shower water smelled like sewage, and stunk up the cabin when it was turned on. The coffee maker does not work. And you should put a few ice trays in the freezer. The cabin it self was really nicely done, but you have serious water issues
I didn't receive instructions to get to the property from owner until after 9:30 pm the night of check-in. The unit was extremely tiny and zero privacy for bed nook. I plastic bag shoved into where a lock should have been was unsafe. Not enough space to turn around for more than 1 person and certainly not with a child. The location description is off as well, we were very far from Helen, not even close.to our desired destination.
The cottage was cozy and clean and had plenty of linens. I enjoyed both outdoor seating areas; I did not use the pool. Wi-Fi is slow/spotty. The listing needs updates - there is no dishwasher - and no dish washing soap was provided. There is no microwave - only a large toaster oven - yet there is no baking sheet or other cookware to use in the toaster oven (for reheating items). Cookware provided is one frying pan and two small saucepans w/lids. There are two mini-fridges but not a single ice cube tray - you're expected to bring your own ice chest w/ice. The main house is under construction - the owners should have been transparent about this as most people would want to know. A very recent review indicated construction, but it was posted after I booked my dates - had I seen it I would have canceled.
We enjoyed the evening sunsets and drinking coffee while viewing the creek below the back deck of the cottage. Raymond and Rick were very nice too. Wonderful relaxing place to stay.
I really enjoyed how small and cozy this cabin was and canât lie itâs inspiring me to build a tiny home similar. The water smells terrible. If you turn it on for a quick second youâll be smelling it for 10 minutes. The listing photos are a merge of old and new photos so I guess I was not expecting it to be extreme owl-everywhere-you-look themed at all. It was cute, but unexpected. Otherwise the cabin was great, the hosts were great, the location was very close to the Highway connecting all towns. Close to some parks/trails. It had a cute little river down the hill from the cabin. My favorite part was the back porch, the swing is a great touch. Please note before booking, this is a guest house and does not have a private entrance, as well if anyone is staying at their other cabin, they have shared access to the pool.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at at the owl cottage and were both delighted with the space. The cottage is ideally located minutes from downtown Blue Ridge and various hiking trails and is well appointed with everything necessary if you prefer to stay in. The grounds are a wonderful mix of gardens and natural elements, great for exploring or just sitting and taking it all in. There is a beautiful creek that borders on the back of the property. The cottage, while adjacent to the owners residence, is very private and quiet. The rain on the metal roof is great for sleeping!
Beautiful property with kind and attentive hosts. We enjoyed the very private setting as well as the easy access to scenic hiking trails. A fabulous getaway.
Quaint cozy secluded lovely cottage view and sound of river heaven met owner Raymond and he was a delight they never were intrusive loved the property if wasn't already married would get married at their venue †we will be back
This was exactly what we needed. A moment to reconnect, appreciate and
Just take in the beauty. Being able to spend some time with my grown kids and new grandson too was a fabulous bonus
This cottage is so perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The cottage is small but so cute and the use of space is perfect. Even though the cottage is right behind the main house, I would have never known it as far as privacy and peace and quiet. The owners are so friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the conversation with them. That being said, they never interrupted my stay, I only saw them working in the gardens on occasion and stopped to speak to them. If you want a retreat but still only a few miles from town, this is it. It is basically between Blairesville and Blueridge with easy access to both but feels as if you are away from everything. I loved my stay here and hopefully will get to go back soon!
