San Carlos is a great place to stay, it is in walking distance to many main shops, restaurants and bars. Surf City, The Cherry on Top, Pink Pony, The Hangout, Sea and Suds...... The condo itself is perfect size for 8. It is clean and spacious. The building is clean, pool is nice, only wish is that there was a hot tub.
Upon check-in the condo was dirty. We had to sweep hair and sand from the floors. The master sheets had spots on them and we washed them. One of the showers still had hair in it. Beds were worn and creaked. Appliances didnât function properly. Not worth what we paid to stay there.
We planned this trip for 6 months, very important anniversary celebration with our adult kids. The room was not clean upon check in, a wad of gum on the wall, dirty dishes, dirty utility closet. We did not complain because we were just happy to be there. We are being charged over $500 for a sofa bed that did not open properly or close properly, because we didnât report it to the property manager. We did NOT break the sofa bed and would take responsibility if so. Management doesnât care and is charging us even after discussing. We will be reporting to all agencies and leaving negative reviews on all websites and will let others know to stay away. Such a horrible end to what should have been amazing memories.
Great location - guest bedrooms need new furniture
First, I felt harassed by the sheer number of texts and email reminders I received from Young's Suncoast! Within one hour of check in I received a text about closing the balcony door!! How/why would the property mgmt company know our balcony door was not closed completely?? It gave me an immediate feeling that we were being monitored and felt like an invasion of privacy!
Second, I have NEVER rented a condo that did NOT even have a hairdryer! Even more modest units where we've stayed provide one in each bathroom - yet this 3BR had none! Unacceptable.
Third, the tile is cracked and broken throughout the unit, even the granite countertops have cracks, bedroom furniture is old and cracked/broken, and the ceiling fan light did not work in one bedroom. Also, the microwave light did not work and I needed it when cooking.
Fourth, I paid for cleaning upon departure, yet Young's required me to wash and put away utensils and leave the unit in a reasonably clean state. If I have to clean, why am I paying a ridiculous cleaning fee? I'm on vacation and the last thing I want to do is clean!?!
Finally, more harassing texts! I received two texts THE DAY BEFORE departure "reminding" me of checkout time and repercussions. Then I was rudely awakened at 8am with yet another text reminder of our required departure! The texts were in addition to emails that were also sent! Again, unacceptable! I am not some irresponsible young college student that needs reminding of the rules. A welcome and departure text with appropriate info should suffice!
These invasive protocols will definitely give me pause before considering Young's Suncoast again.
A few positives were a fantastic gulf view with great balcony chairs, a separate ice maker in the beverage nook, a jacuzzi tub in the master bath, and ease of check-in and out.
Loved the location. Condo was just as advertised in pics. Was roomy and quiet. Only things we had to complain about are the shower door in master bath would not close. Closet door in the bedroom with queen bed was broken and off track and closet could not be used. The faucet to kitchen sink is very loose and about to break. The legs to the toaster oven are broken. Went to use it and it fell. We would rent again if things broken were fixed.
Overall very nice stay. Clean with a few minor exceptions. Property was as advertised and beds and such were very comfortable. Grandkids had a wonderful time at the pool. I would recommend this Property to friends and family.
