We had a great vacation. Jeff is an excellent host. The amenities of this property are great! The views are amazing. We enjoyed the sunsets and fishing on the dock! And the location was so good, very close to everything. Would definitely visit again!
A cozy cottage and the end of a little dirt road overlooking the most priceless view. Comfortable, friendly neighbors and easily accessible for taxi/ubers.
Would rent again in a heartbeat. We could hear the birds and the waves. Owner was available whenever we needed him. Looking forward to next time.
We had a wonderful vacation and this property was perfect for us. In a quiet neighborhood, on the water with a dock. We rented a small sailboat during our stay. I recommend renting a car if you want to get around the island. Bike rentals may work too. It was a magical, and relaxing q.
The property was more than advertised. My group was there on business/pleasure. I got a lot of kudos for selecting the house. The serenity was just what the doctor ordered. We were able to relax before our events which made all the difference. The area is so quiet but only 8 mins away from the heart of Oak Bluff. The kitchen has been updated in the past year or less which gives you plenty of options for cooking. However you want your coffee made you could do it. We will definitely look for the place again next year when we are in town.
Excellent property. The location is million dollar right in the lagoon. Not much beach but can swim, fish etc. close to both Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. Could walk to Oak Bliffs, less so for. I stare Haven. Owners is very responsive.
Our family of 6 (2 adults, my husbandâs parents, and 2 kids ages 5 & 8) really enjoyed our stay here! The property was very clean and well maintained and all the accommodations were very comfortable. The property owner was easy to work with and responsive to any questions I had too.
The beach was a bit rocky so I recommend bringing some type of water shoes for littles - my kids just wore their crocs. The location made it quick and easy (driving) to get to both downtown Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven.
We would absolutely stay here again!
We could not have been more pleased by the beautiful location and wonderful, warm home we found when we arrived at Oak Bluffs. Terrific and wonderful homeowner who helped us to make everything easier! Highly recommend this beautiful location! In fact, we hope to come back next summer! If you stay, you must appreciate the exquisite photography adorning the home.
This was our second stay at this great home. Wonderful facilities and view of the pond. Perfect kayaking. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. Weâd definitely like to return next year.
The house was comfortable and well situated with pleasant views over Lagoon Pond. Everything we needed for a happy summer vacation was provided. Our hosts were responsive to any issues and offered tips on things to do in the area. Hope to return!
My family of six stayed at the property in late July '19. The house was exactly as described. It felt like home from the minute we walked in. The house was well-appointed and everything was in excellent working order.
The view over the lagoon alone is worth the price of admission.
We had been worried that we were too far away from Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven to walk into town. While we certainly could have, it was only a short 5-10 minute drive into either town. Parking was fairly easy.
Location wise I don't know how you could ask for more. 5 minutes to Oak Bluffs, 5-10 to Vineyard Haven, 15-20 to Edgartown, 30 to Menemsha. Perfect, really.
All in all, a perfect place for a couple's or family vacation. For our next trip we'll look here first!
This cottage has it all. The house has all the amenities of a desirable rental including a modern kitchen, air conditioning, comfy beds, etc. But, this cottage has so much more. There are beach chairs, a small boat, bicycles, a grill, a hammock, three outdoor sitting/eating areas, and a wonderful covered swing. Furthermore, there is a 90 foot, deep water dock for fishing, swimming, and boating. Did I mention this property is waterfront? From its perch, overlooking the lagoon, the views are spectacular!!! From every room of the house there are views of the water or the gardens that surround the property or both. There are so many activities accessible without leaving the site, one could be content to stay right there. But, other areas of the Vineyard are nearby and ready to be explored as well. It's a short drive to beaches, shopping, and numerous restaurants.
Last, but not least important in my review, is the caring and attentive nature of the owner/contact person. Jeff couldn't have been more helpful. He made it crystal clear that he was willing to do whatever it took to make our Vineyard experience special. Thanks to the Galvin family for sharing their piece of paradise with me and my family.
We wanted to express how much we enjoyed staying here. The views were breathtaking and the house itself had everything we needed. The swing overlooking the Lagoon was a favorite spot and the kitchen was great too. Our 10-year-old, whose favorite activity was swimming in the Lagoon, declared it the best place weâve stayed on the Cape/Islands, and the rest of us would have to agree! Thanks again for helping us to have a wonderful MV vacation.
The location is awesome. The host family was terrific and very accommodating and responsive. As an avid photographer there are unlimited views and angles for sunrise and sunset. Biking to Old Bluffs is easy. Would highly recommend it.
We had a terrific 4th of July holiday! Jeff was incredibly helpful-he helped us navigate the car ferry which turned out to be the most difficult part of the holiday. Now we know to book very early! The house is set on a bluff with views that made us so happy every day! The house is rustic but very traditionally Marthaâs Vineyard! Everything we needed was supplied. We had a great time and we will definitely want to come back! Thank you, Jeff!
Really impressed with the views and just how amazing the property was. We grilled out, went swimming off the dock, napped in the hammock. Couldn't ask for more. We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend here! Highly recommend Jeff's place.
Wonderful week enjoying fabulous views and well-equipped home
The owner, Jeff, was a pleasure to deal with. The views and outdoor seating areas were fantastic. The master has a great full bath, walk-in closet and terrific balcony overlooking the Lagoon.
The kitchen was well-equipped for our family of 6.
The location worked nicely to get in and out of OB and Edgartown and is in a nice, private and quiet area.
This quaint property was lovely with arguably the nicest view of the lagoon. We loved the master bedroom with the mornings of opening the shades to see the water. Everything we needed was on site and the owners were within contact if needed. The kitchen was well stocked and everything we needed was on hand.
We sailed to MV and kept our boat at the dock, so we used taxis to get around, with average fares of @$5.00 If you plan to take a ferry, make your taxi reservation the night before as they get busy in the mornings.
We hope to return soon!
Well kept with all sorts of amenities. Some light switches were a challenge to find.
We had a wonderful week. This well kept summer camp dwelling has great views of the lagoon and though we had unusually hot temperatures for our time period, the breezes from the lagoon kept us quite comfortable. The place is filled with antiques and walls of books that add to the quaint ambiance and make for a relaxing and interesting stay. Asthmatics however, should make sure to bring appropriate medications as the books tended to cause slight respiratory problems for one of our group. We all agreed that we would definitely like to return here for another stay in the future. Enjoy your stay at this unique picturesque home.
