Situated within the quiet Scatchet Head Community, this charming duplex boasts an open floor plan, comfortable leather seating, and all the necessary kitchen amenities one could need. At night, rest well in the two comfortable bedrooms. The primary bedroom features an ensuite bathroom and a desk workspace.

Great Stay!

Staying here was amazing! The space was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The home had a great vibe and was in such a convenient location — close to the beach, fun spots, and awesome hikes. We were able to do and see so much. Overall, a great place to stay — I’d definitely stay here again!

Just Right

We needed a place to sleep for a couple of nights on Whidbey Island. PROS: Close to the Clinton ferry Quiet neighborhood Very clean Comfortable beds Easy access CONS: Awkward, unnecessary and VERY annoying online registration program - "IDology"

Comfortable stay in cozy home

We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the size of the house was perfect for our family of four. The customer service was amazing; they are very responsive. We did not know the property is a home with a basement apartment that has tenants. The tenants are very nice and we let them know we would be quiet and respectful of their space, which includes the back yard. The location is excellent for exploring nearby beaches and going up the island to visit other towns. Keep in mind the climate is mild, but there can be warm days and cold. The bedrooms have heating, and we opened the windows and door in the evening along with a floor fan to cool off.

Clean and convenient but lacking amenities and backyard access

There was no coffee machine and we had to use a pot to boil water for coffee. The living room window was stuck in the open position. There was no clear signage about how to access the backyard or if we were allowed to do so. We didn’t mind the old furniture and the beds were comfortable. Nice little neighborhood, but the lack of amenities made it a challenge.

Lacking amenities, misleading listing

While we were pleased with the cleanliness of the space and ease of arrival, the unit did not allow access to the backyard and there was a sign by the back door that said “private property.” We’d not have chosen it had we known we couldn’t use the yard. Also, the kitchen has no coffee machine. We did find a French press and were able to boil water with a pot. Some old Folgers was provided. Things like cutting boards and other basic tools were absent. The living room window was open when we arrived and we were never able to get it closed, so temps went from too hot to too cold.

Warm & Welcome Stay

We enjoyed our two night stay. We arrived to a lovely package of Thanksgiving essentials, which made the stay feel extra special. We had plenty of space, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Appreciated touches like a fan in the closet and first-aid kit if needed. Woke up to deer on the property, which was special. Loved our stay on the island!

Never reserved code to door. No one answered the phone took 2 hours to get someone to respond. Got in the hours cold a small heater for the front living room. Renters down stairs loud tv all night could not sleep both nights. And dishes were put away dirty. Foot prints all over the floor. Looked like was not moped. And shower head had little water pressure

Comfortable house that is shared with long-term renters

Cute little house. It is quite a drive from the store. Advertised to have laundry but there’s a sign that says residents laundry. As well as you need a separate laundry code they did not provide Kind of hard dealing with a Vacasa property management as they do not get back to you right away. Could not check in for a couple hours because we are waiting for our code. although I might stay here again, I would check elsewhere first.

Shared house - very clean

PROS: very clean, most everything seems new or close to new. Large TV and large sofa - great for snuggling up and watching a show. Kitchen is small but functional; however there was no ice maker and no ice trays. Close to the beach - 20min walk or 5 min drive. Not on any main roads, located in nice heavily wooded area. CONS: “Duplex” - the lower level of the home is occupied by the owner. Need to be very quiet and manage dogs carefully so as not to bother them. Very close to many other homes, barking dogs, next-door is an abandoned property, souped-up vehicles driving down the road at night. There is a ceiling fan in the living room but no fan in the bedrooms and both bedrooms were uncomfortably hot at night. The window shades do not close all the way - privacy issue and light control issues. Owner uses back yard and back deck - did not seem to be meant for guests. Yard is not fenced and needs to keep dogs on leash due to many passing cars, other dogs, etc.

Quiet little neighbourhood

Came to just unwind and get away from the city. Great bike routes in the area. The place was exactly as advertised and clean. Everything was in working order

Quiet and Clean

The good: Clean Quiet Really comfy, soft bed in master with nice pillows Allowed our dog Internet worked great The not great: Advertised a fully enclosed yard (there is NO back yard access and front is not fenced). We were super bummed. It was the entire reason we selected this rental so our dog would get a break from leash time during our stay. We didn't see or find the Partial AC (a fan was provided though so it was fine as the weather wasn't too terribly hot). The neighborhood has a ton of kids running around which gives it a safer feeling, there are several run down houses and a fully boarded up one next door (can't help what neighbors do so no fault of the owners, just something to note if you are sensitive to that). Shared laundry was also advertised, but we couldn't find it. The sheet said it was in the garage, but we didn't have access to that so no laundry. Other notes: The little market next to Ogres Brewing on Cultis Bay rd has a good burger, yummy chicken strips and fries and really awesome biscuits and gravy for breakfast. A few small groceries available too. Critters and Co in Ken's Korner shopping center just North has a self serve dog wash for after Double bluff off leash dog beach. They also have an awesome tortoise. He's worth the stop alone. Enjoy your stay!

Yes and no

On the upside, the place was very clean, and the bedding was extremely comfortable, nice towels, good kitchen and equipment. The bummer was that there was a single bathroom for two people, and alas, the toilet wouldn't flush. We found out late when we were already in pajamas. Not the owner's fault necessarily, but very inconvenient! The other thing is that there is 'quiet time' between 10 pm and 8 am, which I didn't notice until just before our arrival (it is listed) because there is a full-time renter below. Since it is their permanent home, of course, there was noise in the normal course of living on a Friday night! Not very good soundproofing. Also, a small thing, but no hairdryer. We called in the toilet problem in the morning, but we'd already decided to leave and ended up forfeiting one night of pre-paid fees. The other thing that the owner could provide is directions on how the heating works. Lastly, it was in the 30s the one night we stayed, and there is no heater in the bathroom. All this stuff can be addressed, but people need to be aware that it is more of a shared space than a VRBO.
