This is the real McCoy! Hand hewed logs built from two, 100 year old tobacco barns and other recycled materials, this cabin looks rustic while covering the bases. Ample 500 sq. feet open floor plan provides sleeping loft with queen bed, kitchenette featuring a red cedar counter top, oak dinette, coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. Sitting area has ample seating in front of a rock fireplace. A sleeping corner holds a queen bed topped with antique hand made quilt. Bathroom houses quaint "sheep waterer" shower. Furnished with vintage bits and bobs the decor is a feast for the imagination. Outdoor fire pit area includes chairs and a gas cooking grill. Very private without being isolated our cabin nests on seven acres along side our home and flower farm, located within minutes of Jordan Lake State Recreational Area, downtown Pittsboro as well as Apex and Carrboro/ Chapel Hill.-Go Heels!
We stayed at this cabin for one night, just passing thru. If the walls could talk, theyâd have a story to tell for sure! There is something to look at everywhere you look! Rustic and radiating come to mind! Trish was fantastic and made us feel incredibly welcome!
This was a great cabin for a weekend trip. Lots of cool features to the cabin and it was very accessible and easy to navigate the area. Would recommend!
The cabin was perfect for my 5 year old daughter and I to spend a few days. There is a grill and kitchenette (no stove/oven) but that's fine for short stays or if you plan to eat out most days. Clean, comfortable and exactly as described. The hosts were amazing - friendly, helpful, easy to reach. Highly recommend this for your next getaway.
Upon arrival, the host met us with a smile and walked through all important information we needed to know. They were very helpful with all our questions and eager to meet our needs. The cabin was delightfully welcoming and extremely comfortable. Great place to stay when in the area!
I loved this space! The cabin had tons of charm and was different in an interesting and fun way. The space was very clean and was a perfect landing spot between college tours. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
The cabin was very clean and included all the necessary amenities. The location was accessible and convenient. The owners were friendly and genuinely cared about our family enjoying our stay.
Great cabin and amenities! Fantastic location as well, plenty to go to on day trips in every direction, and the lake being right by is perfect. Would not hesitate to spend more time out there.
Blackberry Cabin is a rare find!! Such a great place to stay-so clean, lovely decor, and great location. Check in/check out was easy. Highly recommend this wonderful property!
Very interesting place to stay. Close to Chapel Hill but in the country at the same time. We will certainly stay there again the next time we are in town.
What a fun stay for two longtime friends to reconnect. Cabin provided good beds, comfortable sitting areas, and adequate kitchen area for our breakfasts and lunches. Nearby Pittsboro offered tasty meals and sightseeing.
Native North Carolinians, Robert and I have been in Chatham for 41 years. We love the land, the near by rivers and Lake for boating, picnic-ing and hiking as well as hot rods, especially Chevy SS. Robert has restored 3 so far! Gathering with friends and family for a nosh and cards or making a Brunswick Stew. My cast iron pot hold 65 quarts, with us it's go big or go home!
When we got the chance to acquire two tobacco barns from family and create this log cabin it was a dream come true! This cabin is real. Authentic hand hewed logs from 100 years ago, you can see and touch the adze marks. But it's about imagination too, working with what is at hand. Old wood frame windows turned sideways to bring in light while still protecting privacy, colored bottles evoke stained glass, beautiful red oaks downed by hurricanes turned into flooring. Things people could no longer keep but hated to let go of; like the 100+ year old rocking chair donated by a dear friend who's mother rocked him in as a baby. These things and more have been adopted or repurposed to make this homely log cabin a retreat you will never forget.
Owners are on site with most of their time taken up with the flower farm. The cabin, however is situated in a private way. Glimpse a sharp shinned hawk as she surveys the garden or catch the "Chatham rabbits" boxing at sunset. Bring your favorite water craft and head out for Jordan Lake, only 7 miles away. Take a stroll through Calico Fields Flower Farm and count the butterflies or pick blueberries for breakfast. With quick access to a major thoroughfare you can be in Pittsboro, Apex or Chapel Hill-- all 20 minutes or less. Shop, meet up with friends, do business, catch them 'heels! or a show. Retreat, get on the lake with your pals or family wrap up your day in town for cocktails and dinner. However you relax you can do it at Black Berry Cabin!
