Sage Joy is a luxury solar home experience; a place to reconnect with yourself and your surroundings. Your hosts have created a thoughtfully considered space for you to relax into the peace of the desert southwest.
Your gracious one level home offers an intentionally furnished open-concept kitchen, living and dining area with two private and well-appointed queen bedrooms. The entire home is Universal Design and ADA compliant. Your spacious full master bath offers a soaking tub and separate tiled shower. Sliding glass and screen doors lead to your choice of covered porches, perennial gardens, or the secret orchard. Enjoy time lounging in comfy chairs taking in Taos Mountain, or napping in the hammock listening to the Stone Forest fountain. Nourish at the family table under the pergola with sunset views.
Sage Joy is fed by the elements; radiant solar energy and rain water. Your home is âoff gridâ meaning it is not tied to the power grid network, it is thoughtfully designed with state of the art systems for seamless comfort. In the rare event of insufficient sunlight (New Mexico has 355 days of sunshine a year) Sage Joy has propane for radiant heated floors and hot water. Water is the most-precious resource in our high desert so mindful use is encouraged.
Your retreat is located in the high desert surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of the Rockies.

My brother, his wife and I stayed 3 nights. Property manager went above and beyond to make sure our stay was superbâmeeting us to take us to the house, showing us around with explanations for how things are done, and following up to make sure all our needs were met. The house is down a long gravel road but no exceptional vehicle required. It has a beautiful look over the expansive desert to the mountains. Sunrises over the mountains should not be missed. Everything about the house is very well done from the wood floors to the walk in shower (and a tub!) to the many books on the shelves to the best stocked kitchen I have ever rented. There were art supplies for children. I am in a wheelchair and found the house to be 100% accessible including entrance, doorways and the shower. Being there in spring was lovely as the flowers were in bloom and the birds ate from the feeder and kept us entertained. It was a bit windy during our stay, but the outside was set up for time to be spent there with a table, comfortable seating, and a hammock for lazy afternoons. There are many museums as well as outdoor sites to be visited. Our time was magical in that we left feeling closer to nature and healed in ways we didnât recognize we needed. We will return.
