Location was great. The house was good but had some things that could be better. Air was set and couldnât be changed. Had to cool down by opening windows but not all the windows opened and some did not have screens. No hot water in the master shower plenty in the bath tub and sink but shower was cold. Definitely not a fan of the refrigerator and freezer. Overall great place and great location. Pet friendly was a plus and outdoor fireplace was great.
The home has no window coverings, so in the bathroom and bedrooms there is no privacy from neighbors this should be prominently disclosedShower in master did not have hot water
Perfect location for a stay close to town and still have the scenery surrounding Taos. Can take bypass route to avoid town to Taos ski valley. And great location for Sipapu.
My family has had two awesome stays at this property. Plenty of room for the whole family. Great communication with the owner. Will stay again in the future.
We had a fantastic time at this property. It was lovely, clean, and the owner was great at communicating with us, even following up with us a few days later during our stay to ask if we were good or if there was anything she can do for us. The location of this property is ideal if you want to spend a few days skiing. You're close to Taos Ski resort, Angel Fire and Red River. Make sure to take the owner's recommendation of places to eat. They were all a hit. It was my first time in Taos, and I can't wait to go back again. Hopefully, staying at this property again.
What an absolutely perfect home! Went with my best friend for her birthday and we enjoyed the covered porch during the rain storms, the outside courtyard for sunsets, and the house layout was perfect for a friend getaway. The home is spectacular inside, beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything you could need. I cannot wait to come back to Taos and stay here again!
It is a great place for a family gathering, or friends. The center island in the kitchen is large enough for everyone to eat or play games together. The bedrooms are separated to allow for privacy. But what struck me most was the architecture - it is stunning!
This place was just what we wanted for our family with grandparents included. Great location, huge tv, radiant floors, fireplace with plenty of wood, safe neighborhood, ski valley, nice kitchen, and light switches everywhere! Lol!
This house was a modern twist on a Taos favorite. The views from all the windows are fantastic. It is close enough to town for a short trip, but gives you that "away from it all" feeling. The owners were super responsive and full of suggestions if your new to visiting Taos. The yard is fenced in, which allowed us to bring our 2 dogs. I would definitely recommend this location. It's close to hiking trails, restaurants, town and shopping.
We absolutely loved this home and hope to return again in the future. The listing does a good job of capturing the unique architecture and furnishings, but tough to describe how impressive the views are from just about every room and angle.
We spent the first part of our Taos trip in the Ski Valley before checking in here just south of the town center. It was the perfect launching pad for numerous hikes and excursions, with easy access to a Rio Grande trailhead just down the road, or a short drive to Sipapu.
Both the owner and property manager were super helpful and friendly, making everything even better. We highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful escape!
This is a modern home with ample room. We were able to bring our dog and they had a fenced in area in the back which was helpful for her. Check-in was easy & owner was responsive.
For the price I expected a bit more.
Items to note:
âąThe home is situated on a dead end street with other homes so it is not isolated but does have nice views.
âąWe were unaware of construction on a new home across the street. Would have been nice for owner to disclose this when booking. We would have booked elsewhere as we thought this location was private and more isolated.
âąThe fridge/freezer is small so if you plan on buying groceries to cook you canât buy too much at a time.
âąThere is no swamp cooler available. There are fans and windows but that only helps if thereâs a cool breeze to blow through. 84+ degree days made the house pretty warm especially in the kitchen.
âąIt rained quite a bit while we were there and the master bedroom had what looked to be a water leak from the roof running onto the floor.
âąThe beds arenât too comfortable and mattresses are fairly outdated. The master could really use a king bed.
âą I did not feel that the home, dishes, etc were cleaned that well.
When we arrived we were very excited to be staying in a funky house in Taos. Unfortunately there were a lot of small issues that made the stay very disappointing. Most of these can be fixed easily, but they NEED to be addressed, especially for the price the host is charging for the house.
1. Almost every single dish in the kitchen was dirty, we had to hand wash and use the dishwasher before we could even make food.
2. The kitchen drawers have dead bugs in them.
3. The heating in the kitchen doesn't work at all, which the host is aware of, but has not addressed. Again, for the price of the property, this should be fixed immediately. We ended up using 2 space heaters (one extra was brought over by the neighbor) just to keep the living room and kitchen warm enough to hang out in. We were told to make a fire, but making a fire every night is not what we had in mind to keep warm. Even with the chimney open, you will always get some smoke in the house.
4. 20' ceilings look great, but if you don't have a way to clean them, they look pretty bad. There were cobwebs and dust hanging from all the walls because I guess they don't have a duster to reach that high.
5. Water issues, the master bathroom has a shower with almost no pressure, so it is hard to properly get clean, never mind get warm.
Overall, we made it work, as we had no other option. But, very disappointing for the price we had to pay.
Pros: Beautiful home, gorgeous kitchen, nice location, pet friendly, fireplaces inside and outside, owner very nice and gave us lots of info about the area before arriving.
Cons: Check in time noted on listing says 12pm. Owner didn't send check in info before arrival date, no email response or message from the app, finally call her on the way there. No shades or curtains on any of the windows, including bathrooms. We felt a little exposed, especially at night. Couch in the livingroom a little torn up. Shower head in the guest bathroom needs replaced or fixed.
Great home. Outstanding Views. Took a while to heat up.
Overall a great place to stay. Well outfitted kitchen with a large table with seating for up to 8 (IIRC).
Outstanding views from just about every room.
Communication on checking in was a bit lacking, we had to call when we arrived to figure out how to get in. In the end, we found an open door and keys on the kitchen table, so it wasn't a big deal. It would have been nice if that was made clear to us a day or two before.
Also, the house has radiant floor heating which wasn't turned on until the day of our arrival. It was in the high 20s/low 30s that day. When we arrived, the house was about 55 inside. It took a full day to get above 60. It would have been nice if the house was warmed up more prior to our arrival.
On the flip side, the beds were comfy and had plenty of blankets and there was plenty of firewood to have fires and heat up the main living area.
Overall, I would definitely stay again and would recommend this as a good place to stay in Taos. The few issues we had were just annoyances that were easy to work through and didn't have any real impact on our experience.
Great property very roomy and great bed space. Master bedrooms was awesome. Hot water is slow for first showerđą
Property clean and had everything you need. Stayed a week would stay again.
The house is lovely with lots of interesting architectural details. The views from the house are amazing, as is the star gazing. The owner and manager are both attentive and prompt. The house is an easy 10 minute drive from town and worth the trade off for the views and easy access to hiking.
Incredible house and incredible location! The sweet surprise were the dark skies! Great star gazing but neighbors near enough so you donât feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The hosts were so communicative and went above and beyond. Canât wait to go back!
My wife and I stayed at the property for 3 Nights. We had an excellent time.âthe place is cleanly and had all amenities that we needed for cooking, bathing, and doing laundry. Would definitely stay again!
I canât say enough about how stunning this property is. The description is accurate⊠I really didnât want to leave! It was a breeze to check in and out and the property feels remote and quiet yet close to restaurants and shopping. Would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed our stay at the proper In Taos. The home was a great and beautiful place to stay and relax. The views, the sunrises and the sunsets were beautiful. The owners were super helpful and friendly. It was a great vacation and we have recommended the home to our friends and family.
The views are amazing morning day or night. You will love the open floor plan.
