Quiet Modern Apartment on Tidal Estuary near Shops/Parks
The Estuary is a quiet, well appointed apartment in the Rosedale neighborhood of Gig Harbor. The apartment is located up one flight of stairs above a detached garage. On the property you'll find a mature forest that leads downhill to a saltwater estuary off of Lay inlet. Bald eagles, black tail deer, racoons, and mountain beaver frequent the property. There is a master bed with queen bed and a pullout queen sofa in the the TV nook. There is a large open kitchen with with a dining table and a sunny seating area perfect for reading or enjoying a morning coffee.
We loved everything about this stay. Katie was a wonderful host and always available when we had questions. We loved the park just down the road. A great place for a hike. Very comfortable place to stay while visiting Gig Harbor.
Well-appointed apartment in quiet rural setting. Close to the harbor and both Sehmel and McCormick Forest Parks. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed our stay.
The Gig Harbor area is beautiful.
The apartment was exceptional, clean, well maintained, nicely decorated and very comfortable.
Matt and Katie made sure our stay was comfortable. Everything was perfect.
What a delightful apartment and location. Quiet and serene, yet close enough to amenities. The owners have taken care of and paid attention to all the details. Laundry available, coffee/tea/filtered water, guest access for movies, toiletries and pantry staples. A welcome respite from city life.
Although we live close by, in Belfair, we needed a short stay VRBO/3 days due to our home remodel. We enjoyed everything the apartment had to offer. Perfect quaint space for my husband to telecommute and for me to work on my quilting. My husband loved the mattress - he said he hadn't slept that well in a long time! Great stay for Gig Harbor area! We will return when the opportunity presents itself!
The listing doesnât do this property justice. Katie was so easy to communicate with and the location was absolutely perfect. The apartment had everything we needed for stop in on the way to Alaska and we hope to return soon! Perfection!
This newly renovated property was in a quiet neighborhood and tastefully decorated. It had great views of the woods and surrounding property, not too close to houses. We drove to Bremerton and surrounding areas during the day. Then came back at night to watch movies. An excellent break from reality! The only thing I would suggest is a mattress pad to make the bed a little more comfortable.
Remote enough to feel quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to all amenities. During our stay we were able to go for a walk at a nearby trail. While the kitchen is great, we were able to visit a restaurant on the waterfront. Perfect eeekend!
Katie & Matt's apartment couldn't have been more perfect for what I was looking for. I was on a solo trip, looking to get away and spend some time in nature. The apartment is spotless, brand new, thoughtfully designed, and has really neat vintage touches throughout that gave it character. Plus, there is an amazing patio that french doors open out onto. It definitely would be great for 2+ people. You probably have a car if you're coming out this way, but if you don't, it's worth calling out that you probably want one. It's about a 10min drive to down town Gig, 2 hrs to Rainier, and +/- 2 hrs to most Olympic Nat'l Park entry points. Gig Harbor has super yummy restaurants and breweries, plus kayaking/paddle boarding/boating in the Harbor. 10/10 would recommend, I will be back!
This place is really special. The hosts have gone out of their way to make it comfortable and inviting, with all the amenities you need. The location is awesome as itâs just 10 min into town, but it feels like youâre really out in the forest. The short walk down to the estuary is perfect. We would go out there in the mornings to get some fresh air. We canât recommend it more - and we canât wait to come back!
I owned a travel agency for years and I know a positive experience - this was one from start to finish. I actually was able to invite a friend to dinner since the kitchen was so well equipped. Everything was immaculate and well appointed âhaving never been to Gig Harbor before it felt like I was on Cape Cod on the west coast. The apartment is in a country setting a few miles from the city center and so it felt so relaxing and private at the end of the day where I had a glass of wine on the outside deck. Thank you for a lovely stay I will certainly return.
This property far exceeded our expectations. The building is new but classy. Private entrances into the rooms down a softly lit sidewalk along the building. Spacious living rooms On the first floor open onto quaint patios where we drank wine by night and coffee by morning in the silky robes provided at the hotel. The rooms are modern, attractive and spacious. 11/10 on our scale. Full size coffee makers with grounds are provided. All Kitchen essentials Including pots/pans and wine glasses. We will definitely be back to this lovely location.
This place is even prettier in person than in the pictures! Itâs super clean, quiet, spacious, and has been really thoughtfully set up. Itâs a very short walk to see the estuary, which was a nice activity to do with our toddler. Would definitely stay here again.
Matt is a USAF pilot and Katie is a homeschooling mother of two. We enjoy gardening, hiking and various crafts including quilting, welding, and everything in between.
