Pour un temps limité, Chris Tate propose son retraite privée emblématique aux autres. Sélectionné pour le NZ HOME de l'année 2015 et présenté dans le magazine Elle Decor Italy, cette maison ne ressemble à aucune autre. Chris voulait capter la simplicité des vacances au camping lorsqu'il a conçu sa "Tent House" à Palm Beach, sur l'île Waiheke à Auckland.
L'intérieur dramatique a un bord minimaliste intégrant des meubles design. Une terrasse et des passerelles ensoleillées mènent à une piscine thermale et à un foyer au milieu d’une végétation luxuriante. La maison dispose d'un système audio bluetooth intérieur / extérieur et d'un éclairage de paysage saisissant qui en font l'évasion ultime pour les couples. Situé dans le centre, le Tent House est idéalement situé pour explorer les vignobles et à seulement cinq minutes de Palm Beach et du supermarché. Il y a un arrêt de bus pratique juste devant. Rester ici est une expérience inoubliable, alors réservez votre réservation tant que vous le pourrez.

15 min à pied du petit Palm Beach. Un court trajet en voiture dans Oneroa Beach et le village avec une variété de magasins, banques, bureaux de poste, stations-service, cafés et restaurants. Le village comprend également divers centres d'art, une supérette sur quatre places, des magasins de fruits et légumes et deux magasins de boissons alcoolisées. Oneroa est le seul endroit où vous trouverez des guichets automatiques.

Not bad for a last minute booking

We wondered if we were the first to stay there in a while. A lot of cobwebs in the corners, also no trash can in the bathroom or kitchen (ie. none inside) though when we asked the manager he went out and bought one! Did not have the correct wifi password until 3rd day. SPA was excellent. Too bad there aren't more windows that open, it was quite hot inside. Also mattress uncomfortably lumpy - had to sleep on top of all the blankets for comfort. A towel rail would benefit the place too.

Palm Beach Stay

Property location is great and close to the bus stop. Short bus ride down into palm beach was handy for local food and shops. Check in was great and I was called by the property manager to check we had arrived safely.WiFi password was incorrect on the booking details but was given to us verbally on this phone call but my message response wasn’t answered until the next day.The hot tub was difficult to access as there as no steps/ladders to access it. There is nowhere to place the top covering as so we were only able to fold back half of the cover. Unfortunately the hot tub was over heating and show “OH” flashing sign as well as “44 degree” so it was not safe to use during our stay. Unfortunately this is only discovered on our last night when it was out of office hours. On our last morning we had no water at the property meaning we could not use the restroom and checked out early. Understandably, Waiheke runs on tank water but we were surprised given we had been vigilant with our water use. Something to bear in mind would be, there is no hairdryer or toiletries at the property so ensure you bring your own! Also if you are not a fan of spiders this may not be the one for you, given it is slightly in the bush, there were lots of spiders in each room.

Stunning house in a great location!

The house is gorgeous, and in a stunning surrounding. We loved being able to relax in the hot tub and sit around the fire pit at night, enjoying some wine purchased at the local vineyards! The amenities suited us fine for a couple of days to cook, and make tea/coffee. The location was perfect - a short drive to the local supermarket, and the wineries and sights are never too far on the island. Overall, we loved our stay in this unique house and will definitely be back!

Good central location on the island, was a neat place, very different than anywhere we’ve stayed before which is what I was after. Had everything we needed and was neat waking up in the trees.

Quirky Getaway

We had seen this property on George Clarke's Small Spaces. Love the property, felt very special to walk down the path and into a home with music playing upon arrival (love the playlist btw) and underfloor heating. A romantic night with a glass of wine in the spa pool. However sadly our stay was tainted by minor things that you don't expect to find when paying for a premium property. No body wash, shampoo/conditioner, or hand wash in the bathroom and a $2 countdown hand wash in the kitchen, no matches to light the fire (wet Newspaper) and a very dirty mouldy shower! Its's just miserable quite frankly. Come on owner, pay your cleaner extra time or get a new one. I have photos. Yuk. It would also have been nice to have some outdoor furniture so we could sit on the magnificent deck and have a wine.

Looks cool but needs some love.

This house is great looking and it's a treat to see it sitting in the bush looking sleek and edgy but: 1. The pitch of the ceiling make it very difficult for 2 people to maneuver on the mezzanine bedroom level and onto the bed, you have to climb over one another or hunch over and sidle around the it. I'm only 178cm so anyone taller would not fit at all. 2. The bathroom is very hard to use, you can't stand over the toilet and getting in the shower takes some talent as opening the shower door blocks the entrance. There are also no towel rails or shelves anywhere. 3. The house's remoteness makes it great but there's nothing around you for supplies. Some milk at least in the fridge would be a nice touch and soap and shampoo for the bathroom as well would be great. 4. There are no towels for taking to the beach, The owner requests you don't take the house towels to the beach but who travels with beach towels? Supplying some would be very helpful instead of having to purchase them on the island. With the price of this place per night I expected a premium experience but even at cheap motels you would be looked after better. This place could be fantastic with some extra effort put into hosting.

Great location.

Great location. Very private despite being so close to neighbours. The design the property is beautiful. The cleanliness of the property however, was a disappointment. We were hoping for a relaxing couple of days away. However, the kitchen was dirty, hence we couldn't cook and relax at the property. The spa vents look like they've never been cleaned. For a relaxing trip, we spent as much time away from the property as we could. Overall a very disappointing stay for the price asked.

Great place to stay for the weekend. It could use a couple of extra things. Citronella candles, insect repellent, bathroom hooks, and coffee plunger (thanks for providing pods for the nespresso).

No doubt that this property looks amazing and is beautifully constructed. It 's well located - far enough away from the crowds but close enough to cafes, the supermarket and the town centre. All the basic amenities (including towels and kitchen utensils and cutlery etc) were available. The water supply in the bathroom had a very strong smell (both the sink and the shower) and looked a bit brown, so this could be improved. Bring insect repellent as there are a lot of bugs at night.
