Don't be fooled by the pictures - would never recommend this 'Studio and Spa'. We arrived in the late afternoon, the place was hot, no air conditioning, only a small fan; we could deal with this. But when we went to bed at 9:30pm, turned the light out then on again, cockroaches scattered. I sent the host a message at 9:45, with no reply. Not being able to stay here we packed our things, found an alternate place to stay and walked down the hill about a kilometer in the dark. We are in our 60's. The next day the host messaged me to let me know it was our choice to leave, and they sprayed, we were welcome back. I told her no thank you as we didn't want to breathe in pesticides - she assured me they aired the place out and the cockroach was a one off. I told her where there is one there is more! I said again no thank you and we would like our full refund back. She would only give us 1/2. After a few messages and an email to VRBO; the host stopped replying to me and has ignored me ever since. There was only 1 fork in the drawer and although the hot tub looks nice in the picture, you have to squeeze through a small gate to get there. The host lives next door. This was a very unfortunate experience as this was our last week in NZ and did not want to spend 2 days arguing. In our opinion, as we were there 5 hours of 4 days booked, more than 1/2 should of been refunded. I fully understand they will loose money, however, it was cockroaches.
