Great relaxed countryside base with lots to do nearby
This is a lovely property for a relaxing break away from the hubbub of nearby towns, with countryside views, in easy driving distance to Wadebridge and Padstow. The field is great for kids to play in, and the Saints Way passes right by, so a long walk to Padstow is very doable, about 4 very pretty miles.
The property is on a farm and there are sometimes cows in the next field, and the neighbouring chickens potter about, as well as choughs, crows, and even grouse. At night we could hear owls hooting, and the stars were beautifully clear to see.
Alison was a lovely host, and we appreciated the cake when we arrived.
The house was a wonderful choice as a base for our walks on the cornwall coast. Excellent location for both the north and south excursions. Good transport connection for the car. The house has a great ambience, is equipped with everything you need and was absolutely clean. If we visit Cornwall the next time we would be happy to stay in the Linhay again.
Thanks to Mike and Alison for the wunderful holiday and that warm welcome! Greetings to "Agathe" our personal chicken :-) !
A fabulous property in a very peaceful setting. Perfect for our quiet break.
We had a lovely break at this fabulous barn conversion. The property was spotlessly clean and Alison the owner was very helpful and welcoming. The cake was lovely too!
A delightful week spent at The Linhay. The sense of space offered by the grounds, views across fields and thoughtful layout all make the property a delight to stay in.
Massive thanks to Mike and Alison for delivering an amazing holiday environment for us and our two children!
Warm welcome by host and lovely cake on arrival. Very comfortable and well equipped accommodation. Best part is the spacious grounds in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Added to that the swing and slide which meant our toddler would happily never have left the garden. Would love to revisit.
We were welcomed with a cake which was lovely. The accommodation was fab, the beds very comfortable. The setting really was glorious. A great place from which to explore the Cornwall coast.
The owner made sure we were comfortable and happy without intruding. We had a great holiday.

Fantastic location, perfect base to explore north coast. Alison and Mike perfect hosts!
Lovely location, perfect base to explore the north coast. Very peaceful and beautiful. Alison and Mike fantastic hosts and always on hand if we needed anything. Great cake too, thank you Alison!!!
We stayed in The Linhay and it was just lovely. Well equipped with everything you need. We were there during a hot spell and could open the doors to the garden to let the breeze in. Sunsets from the patio were gorgeous. Perfect for my elderly mum with a ground floor en-suite bedroom. Very peaceful and quiet but so close to North Cornwall places to visit, and just a few minutes from Tesco. Would thoroughly recommend.
We recently stayed for a fortnight at the Linhay and had an extremely relaxing and enjoyable holiday. It's a lovely little cottage, exceptionally clean, well-equipped and well-maintained, in an incredibly peaceful location; the view from the terrace is beautiful. The owners were friendly and helpful. We left wishing we could have stayed longer.
We can recommend this house. The garden is big and the kids can Play there. You can visite many nice beaches nearby, play football Golf in St. Austell.
Blable Farm Linhay was spacious, quiet, totally self-contained and in excellent order. Parking was convenient. We were welcomed with a delicious cake. The owners were able to work round our dates as we had traveled from New Zealand and could not do Saturday- Saturday as most places require. Supermarkets on the outskirts of Padstow and Wadebridge were handy and we were close to main roads to travel all over Cornwall. The Saints' Way runs past the property so we were able to walk through fields and hedgerows to nearby villages. Activities included visiting the stunning house and garden of Cotehele, Eden Project, walking from Port Quin to Port Isaac, St Michael's Mount and exploring many historic villages. Highly recommended, particularly for 2 couples as there were 2 queen beds and bathrooms. There was play equipment and plenty of grass for children if needed.
