Alpine Loop access

Remote cabin that sits on the Alpine loop access. 8 private acres with all the amenities of being at home. 3.5 miles (10 minutes) just outside of Silverton.
Enjoy the peaceful sounds of birds chirping and the rushing creek running right under your own private deck. Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, warm showers, refrigerator, washer/dryer, wood burning stove, satellite tv, WiFi plus much more.
Go hiking for the day on miles of trails, rent UTV’s, visit historic mines or just stroll the streets of the quaint beautiful town of Silverton.
*Please note there is a very steep and rocky drive to access property.
High clearance, 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles suggested but not necessary. Pictures on website

Cabin was well stocked with utensils and paper goods all you really need is your own clothes and food….. only thing I would change or recommend is to change the water regen to 10:00pm or later so when you come in late from a long 100 mile ride everyone has time to take a shower before going to bed.

We came to this house for our wedding celebration. The home is very clean and cozy, nicely tucked behind Silverton. We loved the creek and the sound of the running water. All amenities worked well. There is no cell service and must use the WiFi for any calling or communication. There was one moment where the wifi went out and I could not contact my vendors, but it was fine. The beds and blankets are very comfy and kept us warm. Water was nice and hot as well. The only inconvenience was the regeneration system from 8-10pm, which is a general prime time for hot showers. We spent most of the day exploring and would come home and have to wait until 10pm to use the hot water. But other than that, it was a very nice stay.

It was perfectly located for our trip with easy access to trails.. The home was beautiful and very comfortable. It had everything to make our stay pleasant. The host was super sweet and made sure we had all we needed.

Summer Stay at Ajax Cabin

Property was very clean and household appliances readily available. Beautiful view of the mountains and mountainside stream. Kids really enjoyed the projector screen to watch movies and bedrooms were decorated very nicely. We had an excellent stay and the host is very easy to work with

Charming cabin in the woods. Host very helpful. Driveway challenging for most vehicles but you could also walk up it if your luggage is small. Very remote location but dirt road from town is easy.

We had a great time. A little rainy but that was ok. Mother Nature just taking care of her natural world. The best send off was leaving the property. Getting on 110 and seeing a bear just leisurely walking down the road. So awesome. Great ending to our stay. Thank you

What a wonderful cabin & host

This Alpine Loop Cabin was such a wonderful property! I cannot stress that enough. It felt very remote, but only 10 minutes outside of Silverton, and still offered all the modern day conveniences you could ever hope for, including excellent WiFi which is very helpful with not having cell service. From the start of the booking process, Dana was an excellent host…extremely responsive and thoughtful. As you arrive up the steep driveway, the description is very accurate and we had an SUV so no issues at all, you are wowed upon arrival. The cabin is laid out very well to maximize space. We were 4 adults. The decor and furnishings are selected well to provide beautiful rustic comfort. Cleanliness was excellent. Having the stream run under the porch and the stunning deck provided the ideal soundtrack to our stay. Being able to sleep with the windows open to hear the running water was a fabulous way to fall asleep. This cabin was everything we had hoped for and more. We absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a mountain getaway. We will definitely be returning for another stay whenever in the San Juan mountains again.

Perfect home base

6 of us went jeeping in the San Juan’s and this was a perfect home base. Close enough to silverton when needed but also close to the trails. Host was very helpful and responsive and the cabin was clean and comfortable. Will stay here again next time.

Picturesque cabin in the woods

Perfectly located between silverton and silverton ski area, this cabin is just a lovely add it looks in the pictures. Wifi worked well, beds were comfortable and clean. Possibly our new favorite place.

Perfect location for an adventure

It was the perfect location to enjoy the Alpine Loop with our ATVs along with a number of great hikes! The house is beautiful and right on a waterfall. It was peaceful with breathtaking views. There’s a great hike straight up right out the door. The driveway is steep, but easy to drive up with four wheel drive. It’s our second visit and I’m sure there will be a third!

Festive 4th

We stayed for the 4th of July and it was the perfect mix of secluded family time and small town festivities. Loved having the window open at night to fall asleep to the sound of the water flowing down the stream.

Great Place for a Getaway!

We loved staying at the cabin. It's a bit out of town which was great for us. We spent hours enjoying the porch and creek, reading in the cabin, and sharing meals together. Despite being remote, the internet was great. My brother in law had to attend an online class during our stay and had no issue. The cabin is not huge, but it is so comfy! The decorations are 10/10. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of space for us to cook 3 meals. Even after 3 days we did not feel like we were getting on top of each other. We would definitely recommend this place for a more remote getaway! (one note, the driveway is no joke. Our CR-V was fine getting up. My in-laws Accord made it up, but we definitely would not have wanted to do it twice!)

Cabin on the Mountain

This cabin is beyond awesome. I thought about staying here and not taking trips to town and go on hikes. The location is peaceful with a stream running nearby. The cabinet is clean and has all the necessities. The bed was comfortable, Wi-Fi good, with comfortable furnishings. Silverton is a friendly, fun town which is 4 miles from the cabin.

Beautiful Mountain Getaway

This is our 2nd year staying in Dana’s beautiful Ajax cabin. We absolutely love coming up here especially to get relief from our extremely hot summer in Houston. Dana is the best in communication and makes sure we made it ok and have everything we need. We bring our 2 small pups and they have the best time watching the chipmunks and birds on the deck. The cabin is in a beautiful location close to the Alpine Loop with a creek running under the deck. You have everything you need in the kitchen and bathrooms and the beds are super comfortable. We consider this our home away from home so we will definitely be back again.

Perfect mountain getaway!

The cabin was everything we could have hoped for and more! It was very clean, and had everything you could possibly need. It was decorated super cute and gave you the perfect mountain feel. The stream running through the property was such a wonderful bonus, with the windows open you can listen to it all night. Wonderful cozy and remote = total relaxation

This beautiful little cabin is perfect in every way! The owners thought of everything to make this a welcoming and beautiful destination. In addition to taking advantage of the natural beauty, the cabin is designed to be cozy and comfortable. Very clean. Well stocked with towels, blankets, and necessities. We loved it and were sad to leavs.

if you are wondering about renting out this cabin, stop wondering and hit "book". where do I even start? the cabin itself...wonderful. Its far enough away from town so that you feel like you're away from it all and yet a few miles down the road you can be in town. The cabin itself is just splendid...its even better in person. Its clean, its super well stocked, its cozy, it always sounds of running water on the property because of the proximity to the stream. All sorts of coffee options in the morning, there's soap for washing clothes; Lotion, mouthwash, Q Tips, you name it and they already thought of it. I even left a set of keys on the property and Dana had them shipped out the next day, my every day hero....thanks Dana. Going forward I will definitely book here again and recommend that anybody who is looking for a great getaway to do the same. Many many thanks Ya'll, see you next year. Richard

Beautiful cozy quiet place

We loved the remote location with the creek outside and a short drive to Silverton. The house had every thing we needed. We would definitely come back. And, for the young adults they have starlink internet. You can make a cell call over it. We have starlink in Missouri as well. Very fast! Loved the scenery!

JUST WHAT WE NEEDED!

The house has everything you need! Comfortable bed, hot shower with excellent water pressure, well-stocked kitchen, and the stream was perfect. The house has a bedroom on main floor with bunk beds and the upstairs is an open loft with a queen bed and trundle. There is a full bath on main floor and shower upstairs. We really enjoyed this home. Right on the Alpine Loop by Silverton!

Amazing cabin in a great place to enjoy Silverton.

The cabin was amazing and exactly as described. It was only about 3 miles from downtown Silverton in an extremely convenient, quiet and beautiful area. Dana was great at communicating. I asked several questions about the newer OHV regs and she responded quickly and with graciously helpful information. I was very thankful and impressed with all communications and assistance with this property. I would definitely stay here again, if the opportunity arises. You cannot currently ride OHVs into Silverton. But, this property in on a road that is out of the no OHV area and you could ride your OHV straight to the Alpine Loop going to Ouray or enjoy several of the roads offering OHV fun before the Alpine Loop. Our entire party was very impressed and happy with our choice to stay here. All communication and entire experience was top notch!
