We do recommend a car as while the walk down to the village is very pleasant, coming back up can require a degree of stamina - although it does serve to work those croissants off! Hi Kelvin, thank you for your review. I’m glad you all enjoyed the Villa, our magnificent view and everything Tourrettes sur Loup has to offer. Apologies again regarding the pool heating - as I mentioned at the time I had asked for it to be switched on once our annual pool maintenance had been completed but unfortunately this did not happen in time for your stay. I reimbursed you the full cost of heating the pool for an entire week to help make up for the disappointment which I know you and your family encountered on this occasion. I have also reviewed our systems for turning on the pool heating at the start of the season going forward to ensure that this does not happen in the future. All the best.

Hi Deb, I’m glad that you and your friends enjoyed all of the amenities at Villa Soleil along with our incredible view. I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t fully enjoy everything that Tourrettes-sur-Loup has to offer because of the drive home. While the final approach to the house is quite steep, in 9 years of visiting I have yet to have a rental car that hasn’t made it up there but it does require first gear, steady acceleration and a bit of confidence! The first time up will always be the trickiest because you will have all your luggage with you too. The visitor information pack contains details for local taxi companies so that would also have been an option for you. Regarding the ants, they do sometimes need some attention, but that is a common feature of the lovely Mediterranean countryside. They will only venture inside if there is something to tempt them so keeping crumbs off the floor and surfaces clean is a must. There is usually a supply of anti-ant sprays etc under the kitchen sink and the local Bricolage also stocks a multitude of options for controlling them.
